Extremely disappointed with my last trip there. A new lady I hadn’t seen before did my brows. She took about 25 seconds, didn’t do the middle area or any trimming. She also did not give me a mirror to let me see how my brows looked. I was an idiot and assumed, even though it was much faster than usual, that she did a good job (they usually do). So I paid and left.
When I got home and looked in the mirror, I saw only about 10% of the hairs were plucked! I had to tweeze 90% of the outgrown hairs myself and completely wasted that $ 7. This is my first bad experience there, so I’ll try again. I’ll have to make sure this lady doesn’t do them again. What a rip-​off.

Slop job! Their eyebrow threading is a bad joke. My eyebrows looked exactly the same. Stray hairs everywhere, no defined arch, just terrible. Dont go here to waste your money or deal with bad rude attitudes. Go out of business already!!! You get what you pay for.

Can’t say much about this place other than the eye brow threading. It’s the cheapest price in the northwest suburbs for the best threading. These ladies are fast, precise and skillful. I have always gotten compliments after getting my eyebrows done here.

I used to love this place to get my eyebrows threaded there often, but then once the lady literally took off half my eyebrow.
You don’t come back from that.
I will say eyebrow threading there is a deal, but it’s pretty janky inside. Maybe not the cleanest place and also just not spa like.
Haven’t gone back since they threaded off half my eyebrow (since I’m still trying to grow it back.) and I was unhappy.

I have been coming here for threading for years. I’ve brought many family and friends here. They are usually very good. But they aren’t the friendliest people, they always look like you are interrupting them. Usually that doesn’t bother me. Until the last time I came, there were no other customers, they were all sitting in the back, and looked annoyed and looked at each other as if deciding who would take me. One lady had her shoe off and was picking at the bottom of her feet. Unfortunately she was the one that ended up doing my eyebrows and I’m pretty sure she didn’t wash her hands before handling me. This was also the second time that I had scabbing on my eyelid the next day from them ripping my skin off. The only reason I would ever consider going back, and this might not be reason enough, is how cheap it is. $ 6 eyebrow, $ 4 upper lip.

I love, love, LOVE this place! The ladies are incredibly skillful and your eyebrows will be ON. POINT. The process of their Mani Pedi’s is relaxing and they actually care about your nails, the (not so mini) massage you receive when your feet are done soaking and they are super friendly. I highly recommend this to anyone that wants quality for a low price! It’s soooooo cheap. Why would you go anywhere else??? :)

These ladies do the best threading in the Chicagoland area. And it’s super cheap! I usually pay about $ 10 for an eyebrow/​lip thread here. Anywhere in the city and $ 10 only gets you one or the other. The ladies are super nice, efficient, and good at their job.

I am so upset. Tonight was my third time walking in, and I have loved this place up until tonight. The first two times I came to this salon was the first I ever let anyone touch my beautiful thick eyebrows. I had the same woman both times, the one that works at the second chair behind the front desk area, and when I came in thinking that my eyebrows were already perfect, she made them look even better. She listened to my request in terms of shaping them and not making them any thinner and she told me to trust her, and I was not disappointed. Both of those times I walked out with beautiful eye brows. Tonight I walked in for another clean up, but my usual lady was not there. I do not know the name of the girl that helped me but it looked like she was the only one threading for the rest of the evening, and she worked at the chair on the left side of the room form the front door. My eye brows are quite thick and look best that way on my face. I gave clear direction and asked her to shape and clean them up and to leave them THICK, to which she responded, «ok.» Clear enough I thought, until I came up from the chair to see TWO DIFFERENT eyebrows! Not only were they completely different, the left eyebrow is thinner than my eyebrows have been in YEARS, and the shape is completely unnatural to my own. I walked out looking and feeling hideous. I am sure many women will understand what I mean, after all, THIS is why we have a hard time trusting other people with our eyebrows. I am so unhappy that after giving clear direction and paying money, I had to walk out looking worse than I walked in. I should have stayed home. The worst part in not the money lost, but two eyebrows on my face that are completely different in shape and thickness. My eyebrows are one of my best features and this is NOT ok. I give credit to my usual lady, because she actually listens to what I need. I am very upset to be paying a person that is not able to carry out a simple task such as not thinning my eyebrows out. Thanks for ruining my face for the next month…
Just to update: I still go to this salon and just make sure to let only certain people touch my face– the people I know I can trust. Nothing beats the price and time convenience at Cutting Edge. Oh and, Kanan is #1!

My go to place for eyelash extensions and eyebrow threading. $ 6 for eyebrows and $ 20 for eyelashes. I come here religiously, as do many others. Quick and affordable not to mention the end result is always amazing. They also do henna designs!

Went in basted on Unilocal reviews, called first, and they don’t take appointments because its first come first serve. I was very impressed with the result and will definitely be back again for threading!

I love this place, I come here for threading and they always do an amazing job no matter who I get! Clean, in a strip mall so kind of a weird location but it is so worth it! They also have a loyalty card so after 6 visits you get a free threading service. $ 6 for eyebrows, CASH TIP ONLY

I would love for my brows to be a sense of pride but due to some unfortunate European genetics, it seems as though that will never be the case.
I came here on a whim as it had been roughly 3+ months since a professional had tended to my brows and the end result was an admirable one.
Sure, part of the upper arch on my right eyebrow is def gone, but this was super quick and relatively pain free and for $ 6 I can hardly complain.
These days I have negative time in my hands so speed is something of importance in any service i get. This was probably the speediest threading I’ve ever gotten but it wasn’t half bad. Besides my one (now kind of lazy) right eye, my eyebrows look trimmed and at least moderately groomed, which, after going so long without, is all I could’ve asked for.
For $ 6 and roughly 3 minutes of my lunch break, I couldn’t ask for more.

I’ve been coming here for eyebrow threading since high school… so like 10 years now. Wow. Sorry, I need a moment… I’ve never stuck to one place for 10 years before!
I’ve never had any other services done at Cutting Edge, but I can certainly give them 5 stars for eyebrows. It’s quick, (relatively) painless, and way cheaper than going somewhere else to get them waxed.
I went somewhere else once on a day Cutting Edge was closed and decided to have my brows waxed. It took FOREVER and my skin was red for the next 3 hours. Not to mention it cost $ 25 as opposed to Cutting Edge’s $ 6. Ain’t nobody got time for that! Just walk in, write your name on the list, wait 30 seconds-​5 minutes (depending on how busy it is), sit back, and let the professionals do the work! It’s actually very relaxing if you ask me. Like acupuncture, only instead of sticking needles in your skin, they’re ripping hair out.

Stopped by here due to a spontaneous Groupon I purchased for a Brazilian wax. I’ve had one before but this was my second time.
As I pulled up to the location, I was weary of getting such an intimate service done at a shady strip mall. I walked in and noticed that this wasn’t the most aesthetically pleasing salon.
I was directed to a small room with bright lights. The waxer asked me what I wanted and I replied a Brazilian. When I looked down, she removed everything… which is a hollywood. The experience was very clinical. The procedure was more painful than my previous experience. When I told the waxer I needed a break since it was so painful, she gave me a few seconds and didn’t listen to me. She acted as if I was holding her up.
Overall, I left feeling extremely dirty and regretted my decision for ever buying the Groupon. I should’ve went with my gut feeling and left as soon as I walked in. You definitely get what you pay for, and I wouldve paid more for a salon experience.

$ 6 for an efficient, nicely done eyebrow threading. Yes, $ 6. That alone is pretty remarkable. Oh, and they dole out a punch card — your seventh threading is free. Yes, ma’am.
This is not an upscale, chi-​chi salon with waterfalls, spa services or cucumber water. No, this place means business. You walk in, pick up the pencil and the pad of paper on the small card table, write your name down and wait for one of the many threaders to call your name. Sit your butt in the chair, place your fingers on your eye where the nice lady tells you to and wait. 4 minutes later you’ll have nicely shaped brows!
If you need a tissue or a bit of generic lotion on your brows afterwards, they have that available… but beyond that, it’s pretty bare bones. And that’s just fine by me — my brows are cleaned up and shaped up!

How can you beat $ 6 eyebrow threading? I used to get my eyebrows waxed downtown, but Cutting Edge is so much cheaper and closer to home. And threading is so much gentler on the skin!
I’ve been coming here on and off for a few years now, and I keep coming back because it’s quick and cheap. Half the time, my eyebrows are perfect, and I swear it’s the cheapest pick-​me-​up out there! Other times, there are patches they clearly missed, and I just have to look at it as a good starting point for tweezing them on my own. I wish they were more consistent — it makes me so sad when it turns out to be one of those «starting point» days! And as other reviewers have notes, they aren’t very friendly. But this place isn’t popular because of its customer service. You come here because eyebrow threading is just $ 6 — no other reason.
Also, I’d recommend going on a Saturday. That’s when they’re the busiest, but also when I’ve had the most luck with my eyebrows turning out perfectly! On Saturdays, there are three ladies working solely on threading, and the process is much smoother.

I went here today based on Nicole M’s recommendation and I’m so glad she told me about Cutting Edge!
It was a bit bigger and more busy than any threading place I’ve been to which I’m sure is a testament to the popularity. I wrote my name in the notebook & was instantly called back. The girl was so nice & patient with me as my eyes watered like crazy. She convinced me to go with threading even though I at first told her I’m not very good with threading (the eye watering) and usually do waxing. She said you get a much better look, more precision and it stays longer with threading. Okkkaaaay, you convinced me! And it did end up looking great!
I got my eyebrows & upper lip threaded for $ 10! That’s a better price than I’ve ever gotten in the ‘burbs and I’m beyond happy with the results!
Plus they have a stamp card… go 6 times and the 7^th eyebrow threading is free. Yep, I’ve found my new eyebrow place.

I love getting my eyebrows threaded at cutting edge! No appointment necessary, never more than a few minute wait, and quick, professional service!
I don’t have a regular aesthetician that I see, but they all do a wonderful job. I always feel better about myself when I leave, they never «over shape» my brows or make them too thin.
The fact that I’m out of there for under $ 10 and A stamp card for your sixth (or is it seventh?) threading free helps too!
