You never know what to expect when you walk into a bead store for the first time. I walked into this one and immediately felt at home. This store is a bead weaver’s dream! Clean, fresh, organized. Lots of great samples of work and patterns. Decently priced kits great class offerings. Wonderful selection of seed beads, superduos, crystals, findings, etc. I had a wonderful time chatting in the store with the ladies.(Sorry if I distracted you from your work!) Can’t wait to come back!

I’m giving this shop two stars only because of the $$$ rating. and Not that I’ve experienced better… Yes, things are very expensive, even the finished pieces at 50% off. However, the pieces are very finely crafted, and a great variety in designed bracelets and necklaces. Have not seen this variety in shop classes or finished pieces anywhere else. The shopkeeper(service) is top notch; even when she is in a class, she does ck in with her walk-in clients. A bit over-efficient which was off-putting. I’m looking for a warm, fun environment in which to learn and hunt for beads! Perhaps this is a difference in personalities . It is a very organized, finely-run shop, filled with gorgeous beads and findings. Owner Very Knowledgable. Classes are very comfortably priced which is pleasant surprise given cost of classes elsewhere or at bead shows.

This is a cute little bead/jewelry store in downtown Palatine, and it fits right in with the shops on Slade. When we went in, the owner was teaching a class on a bracelet, and it looked intimate and fun. There are a lot of classes she teaches for all different skill levels. The owner wasn’t the friendliest, but, we could have caught her on an off-day, and she was in the middle of a class, so perhaps it was an interruption to her flow. But, if you’re going to be open while teaching classes… The jewelry in the store is made by the owner, and some of it is cool but some is really expensive. Perhaps if I were more well-versed on the bead-verse it wouldn’t seem so expensive. There is a big selection on all kinds of beads and materials which is nice to see. The overall store is great, and I’d be happy to go back.

Outstanding small shop where you can get amazing jewelry made by the owner, Vilma, who loves to make jewelry and it shows. She also displays one of a kind pieces made my local artisans, and I snagged a gorgeous silver bracelet with precious stones and a ring to match for a steal. If you want to make your own baubles, Vilma has a huge selection of beads and assorted special things to embellish any piece you desire to create. This is a place that is definitely worth visiting.
