I will say the owner contacted me quickly and stressed how he is working on the issues at hand, this i appreciated very much. Also, stopped in on a different day with some friends(who were going here anyway) and they ordered a pizza and I have to say honestly, It was MUCH better this time. Seems that the problem here is inconsistency, Please keep improving, I would love for JL’s to be successful here.

Pretty nice TV setup. Food is solid bar food. Menu is too large so it’s mostly frozen I would guess. Kitchen would be swamped trying to make all the options available. It gets very very packed during Blackhawks games.

Horrible food and service. Owner is rude ad hell and has no customer service skills. Tasteless and bland food. Stay away from this place, lots of other options in Palatine. Will not give it a second chance.

After this location having such a bad reputation for years, my husband and I and friends have given it a second chance, came I a few times to watch football season with palatine friends. Not bad, not great but local, walkable neighborhood«SPORTSBAR« Somethings never change tho. Terrible service? What are these girls thinking ?? They seem more interested in conversations of their own rather than waiting tables? ?? Drink Specials so watered down, crazy. I asked, is there any alcohol in this coke? My husband Tasted too, feeling mutual. «don’t get another one he says… me the optimist says, it can’t be twice?? I ask waitress, she LECTURESUS… I’M JUSTTHEWAITRESS! ! Bottom line… Horrible Service, Watered down drinks, and food…## stick with pizza. Too bad for palatine, it would of been nice to have a real functional SPORTSBAR in Town. Go Hawks !

This place has terrible projection TV’s from the 1980’s. The service Was poor and the food was not very good. I will say the pizza was ok-I would have it delivered but I would never go back to the facility. There are too many better places in downtown Palatine to go to

Strange place. Sports bar but main TV and sound is playing the TV show Jeopardy. That’s weird. One person working the front. Nice enough but not very talkative. Looks like a sports bar but acts like the local tavern. At this point I don’t feel trying the food would be a good choice so no comment on food I will try again later in the day to see if it has a better ambiance.

This place is absolutely horrible. The waitress was completely unpleasant and took over twenty minutes to come to our table to get our order. Then they got my food order wrong. But the worst part is that I saw the bartender make my drink with the wrong liquor, and when I told her she about the mistake, she lied and insisted that she used the right liquor.

Walked in with my mom, sister, and sister’s gf half an hour ago. Told the bartender my nephew’s football team was on their way for pizza. She didn’t seem too happy – odd since the place was mostly empty and you’d think she’d welcome the business. A few minutes later when we still hadn’t gotten menus, I walked to the bar and asked for a club soda. Again the bartender appeared unhappy with my order being so small. It was $ 2 which was ridiculous. As she handed it to me she said irritably, «I don’t have a waitress today so you’re going to have to be patient with me.» I walked away. When the team started coming in I told my sister we weren’t welcome and that we should go, but someone else had planned the party so we didn’t want to cause a lot of trouble. Then my sister went to the bar to ask for pitchers of water for the thirsty team. The bartender said«sorry, our water machine is broken.» WTF? At that point we were all eager to leave so called another local pizza place and they were happy to accommodate us. Before we left I walked up to the bartender and took her picture. Once I did this she gave me the only smile I’d seen from her all day. «How can I help you, sweetie?» was suddenly her attitude. I told her we were leaving and why. She feigned great confusion. We are presently having great fun at another local pizza joint that was happy to welcome these thirty kids and parents. We intend to tip well. ****Update: The owner sent me a kind and apologetic message, and the coach of my nephew’s team said that they usually have a great time at JL’s. I guess my experience was not typical — still a terrible first experience but I think it was just that one bartender. I’m upgrading my review from one star to three. Thank you, Dave. P. S. I do think it’s going to become a family joke: «Want to go out to eat?» «Yeah, but let’s go somewhere where they have WATER.»

I started to come to JLs when they got a new owner. The owner came from Pop’s in Schaumburg and that place got bad after he left. The space is nice with huge ceilings. They have also done a ton to fix up the place and now has 4 projection tvs and a ton more tvs. I came for a Cubs/Hawks game on a Saturday night and was able to watch both at the same time on two big screens next onto each other. I LOVE the food here! I always get the steak tacos and my family always gets the pizza. This time my wife got the ribs and they were literally fall off the bone. Trina was our waitress and she busted here butt on a packed night! They also offered $ 10 Coors Light buckets(5 total) and I think $ 13 buckets for others… which is a great deal if you have a large group of people or really thirsty. This is now my favorite bar to go to and definitely my favorite Official Blackhawks bar!

Pretty cool sports bar. Good food. I would definitely recommend the Buffalo Chicken Wrap. Thin tortilla filled with amazing and spicy buffalo chicken with lettuce and ranch dressing. it was a bit messy, dipping with delicious ranch, but totally worth it. Served with a yummy side order of french fries, with ketchup. As an appetizer we ordered the Skinny, hummus with pita bread and veggies. very good but definitely only enough for one to two people! I would absolutely go back, especially if there’s a game on. I would really want this wrap again, but would have to try something new the second time around!

First time ordering from here. Very quick delivery and the hot food was still hot! My wife, who is 100% Italian, had the Calamari Pasta dinner and sadly was not impressed with it. She said the breaded calamari was mushy and thought it odd that it was served on top of the pasta and marinara sauce. I however, enjoyed my order, although it was only an Italian Sub. But it was loaded with meats, cheese and other toppings and was delicious. Fresh cut fries complimented the sub well. Will try other entrée’s with the hope of giving JL’s more stars!

Eh not impressed. New owners but not much change other then the removal of that disgusting carpet, and several of the veteran employees. Seems like this place could really be awesome if they did it right but I have yet to see that. They have maintained the very weird layout that is not inviting at all. Just not a place I would venture to.

Stopped by after a conference in the city and visiting family nearby, they had excellent pizza and a great atmosphere as I had gone during the Blackhawks Stanley Cup Run. Their food was excellent, service was friendly and we had a great time. Would definitely go back during a Blackhawks Playoff Game.

Tried their pizza last night. We ordered a medium-half cheese, half pepperoni. It was pretty good. I left wanting more but full. I went with my husband and our 2 little kids. It’s a bar but saw a few other families. We went around 6:30/7:00. Lots of TVs.

JL’S is just what Palatine needed… it’s a great place to watch any sporting event. The food is delicious and the service is always friendly. I am so exited to have a place like this in town!

I went there and wanted to «test out» the new Pizza. It was very good. They also had Buckets of Domestic Beers on special… great Deal! Clean place, very nice atmosphere. Great place to watch a game — Big Screen TVs and additional TVs to allow customers to view, no matter where you are seated. Looking forward to getting back there soon!

I stopped by to watch the game. I love this place. Not only was the pizza delicious but the server was friendly. I ordered a thin crust pizza with pepperoni and sausage. The pizza had a nice flakey crust and I really enjoyed the robust flavor of the sauce. Our pizza had just the right amount of melted cheese. Its good place to hang out with friends, eat some great pizza, drink a beer and watch the game.

Was really hoping for a fresh start for this location with the recent ownership and name change but my first experience was poor. The only change to the inside is a red wall with a Blackhawks logo. Bathrooms still a complete disaster and nothing has really been cleaned up or changed other than the menu. The items looked fairly good and the promoted they were made fresh but our food experience was poor. They heavily promote pizza and even have it in their name. This place was DEADSLOW and it still took us nearly 35 minutes to get our pizza. When it came it was under cooked in my opinion and had far too much cheese, which seemed to be a lower quality mozzerella that was not melted completely. Both me and my friend had stomach problems for hours and hours after eating it. May give them one more chance in a few weeks to see if the new ownership makes any improvement but highly skeptical right now.
