Specialties

Mountain, Cruiser and Road bike sales, repairs and rentals. We have 40 rental cruiser bikes for exploring the Palisade Fruit and Wine Byway. We also rent Electric bikes for a fun easy way to see the Fruit and Wine country.

You can also ride from our shop to the Palisade Rim Mountain Bike trail, the newest Mountain Bike trail in the Grand Valley.

During the summer months we also rent Paddleboards and offer Introduction to Paddle Boarding classes along with doing half day Raft trips through Palisade River Trips.

History

Established in 2007.

Rapid Creek Cycles is owned by Scott Winans and Rondo Buecheler, they started working in Fruita together when Rondo owned Over the Edge Sports. They share a vision of developing both mountain and road riding opportunities from Palisade to the top of the Grand Mesa.

Rondo has been involved in Grand Valley Biking since founding Over the Edge Sports in Fruita Colorado. After ten fun years in Fruita he and business partner Scott Winans are working hard to expand biking from Palisade up the Grand Mesa Slopes to Powderhorn Resort. Rondo also owns Palisade River Trips and Guides for Grand Canyon Dories during the summer. In the winter months he is the Ski Patrol Director at Powderhorn Mountain Resort.

Rondo and staff went above and beyond expectations. He communicated with me for months via email to assure my reservation even when he thought he would not be opened. Offered to lock the bikes up for me and my sister. Luckily they were open. We were guided with a map which he personally highlighted the trail and his favorite ones, which were the best. Also gave us his number (rescued, repairs) to call We got a 24 hour reservation. Was a low to lock the bikes up at our hotel and drive them back in the morning to enjoy our night in wine country and enjoy breakfast!

I would give this place ten stars if I could. I was touring around Palisade on bike and visiting some wineries and got a flat on my own cruiser in the early evening. The walk back to my Airbnb would have been more than an hour so I figured I’d call this place to see if they could come pick me up and replace the flat. Despite it being well after they were closed, the owner, Rondo, picked me up quickly, brought me back to the shop, fixed my flat, and dropped me off on top of the huge hill I was not looking forward to going up on a single speed. All of that for $ 20 – 25. Incredible. I’ll definitely be back next time when I am Palisade!

Bicycles were in excellent condition and were a blast to ride! We were given a map for easy winery and orchard touring with scenic views. Colin was so helpful and had wonderful suggestions that made for a really wonderful day. I would highly recommend renting bicycles and touring Palisade in this way. It would not have been nearly as fun doing it in a car. Thank you so much!

We were in Palisade for a bachelorette party and Colin and his team took great care of us with our bikes. They had us set up in comfortable cruisers in no time, gave us tips on local stops and assured us multiple times that we could if anything at all came up. Great staff, great bikes, and the whole process was easy as could be. We left the bikes locked up out front well after closing so we didn’t even need to stop back in in the morning. Great option for cruising around the Palisade wineries — or more!

Go Here, Go Here, Go Here. My nephew and I has Sooooo much fun riding our bikes in Palisade. The owner opened early for us and it really made the difference of being able to have time to fit it in or not. We did a 12 mile ride all easily mapped out and if we had time would have done the 25 mile one for sure.
You ride by farms, orchards, rivers, horses, wineries, fruit stands it was AWESOME…

Found this bike rental shop on Unilocal and loved it! Prices were responsible and great customer service. We rented two cruiser bikes at $ 40 each and one motorized bike at $ 50. The guy who helped us answered all of our questions and recommend this great sandwich shop near by. He also gave us a little map and showed us where to go to check out beautiful scenery and near by winery and a peach distillery. I definitely recommend the motorized bike! We had a blast and when we go back to Palisades we will come here again.

The owner of this shop is one of the nicest folks I’ve ever met. He went out of his way to make sure my wife and I found good trails that we each could enjoy, even going to the extent of drawing a map from memory a couple times (no maps were available for a couple of trails). There’s enough selection for rental bikes that everybody riding the area should get what they need. I would surely recommend this shop to anybody visiting the area.

What a wonderful bike shop in Palisade!
My boyfriend and I are in the market for Niners, and they are quite a sizable dealer. Rondo (the owner) was incredibley helpful with looking up other options to compare, and really help us settle into what we want.
