Excellent service. I went for lunch and was in and out. Everything came out on time and I managed to enjoy my lunch. The Shrimp Teriyaki was full of flavor and plating was also appealing. The portion was enough to fill me up. Parking is limited and easy to find the restaurant. Enjoy your visit.

Just reviewing the quality of their sushi/sashimi. Had the ‘pleasure’ of trying out their food when a friend bought a party platter for a dinner with seven people. While I can’t speak to the ambiance and service of the restaurant, the food was mediocre and could be much, much better. The fish was limp and while not bad, it was clearly not the freshest. I am a big fan of maguro(tuna) and theirs tasted like bargain sushi one would get from a Chinese takeout. Even the crab roll featured such overfried crab that it could have been fried anything and it would have tasted exactly the same. No nuance, nothing about the food to make it stand out. Miso soup was boring, tasted like something I would make at home(and that is not a compliment, believe me). Just your average non-authentic Japanese restaurant, offering food that could be much better in quality.

The beef teriyaki is essentially an over sweetened beef stew. The salad side was dressed in mayo-ketchup-sugar sauces. Liked this place in the past but the food quality went down a bit. There is no miso in the miso soup. The soup is a diluted MSG/chicken soup base with few seaweed floating on top. Very disappointed and had to toss out. Would not pay $ 12 dollar to eat here again.

Sushi Island is a small but confident happy place of Palisades Park Nj. They start you with nice glassware and a larger than average bowl of miso soup. They have a nice music system that serenades you at you enjoy their dinning room. The Food — Fanrastic, I got the chicken Katsu and a spicy crab roll. I would definitely come back for both and in fact I took some with me, and they packaged it up nicely for me to leave with! Mahalo !

Awesome and authentic Korean sushi. I’m sitting here right now and it is such calming setting with relaxing jazz playing in the background. Volcano rolls all day baby.

Have been trying a few local sushi places lately and this one was EXCELLENT!!! You get a lot for your money, the service was great, and the sushi itself was fantastic. I highly recommend it.

This place didn’t satisfy me, in fact, never coming here again. Price vs. Quality gets = C. Note: This is a korean sushi shop, nothing like a Japanese sushi shop. Salmon was pretty warm. Didn’t taste fresh. Salmon was quite bland. The slicing of the fish was below par. It wasn’t evenly cut. The preparation of their rice is too korean. Normally Sushi is composed of rice, that has been prepped with vinegar and sugar. This place didn’t have either, or it had so little that it made no difference. I like my sushi rice to be a bit on the vinegar side. The rice broke down and crumbled easily. I wonder how cold that glass container truly is at the display.

Tried this place for the first time and I was pleasantly surprised. Prices were very reasonable and the sushi and sashimi were very fresh. In particular, the salmon sashimi was so tender it melts in your mouth. I sat down and ate and service was quick and good, and I also saw many people coming in to grab takeout orders. It looks like they have good lunch specials as well so I will have to give that a shot too. Overall, I recommend this as a solid sushi option. Also, in addition to your classic rolls and Japanese style sashimi options, they have some solid Korean style sashimi options which were also delicious. It’s nice to find a sushi joint where I can sit down or grab a to go order to satisfy my hunger in a reasonable amount of time. They have a parking lot too which is nice.

I only had takeout here, although they do have seating inside. But the way the place feels, I think it would be a bit weird sitting and eating there. Maybe it’s just me. I think their sushi is tasty and I also like the shumai, miso soup and edemame(although it would be hard to mess that one up). They’re always very nice, the platters are always laid out very well with all the little plastic, grass fences seperating them. They take their time with the visual and I think that’s part of the fun of getting sushi. It’s not just tasty but visually pleasing. I haven’t tried their entire menu, but a good portion and I think the only thing I wasn’t a fan of was their teriyaki selections. I do feel it’s kind of expensive though, and even though it’s close by, I don’t frequent it more than once every couple of months.

I’D RATHERWALKTHEPLANKTHANEATATSUSHIISLANDAGAIN! Just sit right back and you’ll hear a tale, A tale of a fateful trip That started at this sushi bar Along this tiny strip. When we moved to Fort Lee, this was our go to place to get our sushi fix. They have a nice variety in their sushi, and a decent selection of both hot and cold options. Normally, this would be the start of a great review for most places that I’ve been, so it pains me that this review could not paint a better picture. The fishes started getting rough, The tiny meal was lost, If not for the Tums in my kitchen drawer Our stomachs would be tossed, our stomachs would be tossed. Only after a few visits we started to notice that the rice was getting harder and the fish had a «not so fresh» scent that was more reminiscent of an old door off a Tuna Barge than a Summer Breeze commercial. Hard or stale rice is a clear sign that business is slowing down and the place is trying to reduce waste by reusing yesterday’s rice. I know that we live in a time of «Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle» but, I’ll save that mantra for paper and plastic rather than forcing it to become part of my diet. The final straw for us was when they stopped Sunday delivery service and began to enforce a policy which required a minimum order of $ 30 in order to qualify for delivery. There is only so much stale rice and slimy fish that our stomachs could stand. The more me ate, the more we realized how sub-par this sushi really was. So much for local strip mall sushi actually making the cut. There’s nothing worse than stale, stinky sushi that makes you wonder whether the Seahag had wafted through the waiting area prior to your pickup. This place’s ship has sunk and I’d sure hate to be a stranded castaway … here on Sushi Island!
