Arrangements – Floral & Party Design

I have to say… I’m pretty floored by all of the negative reviews for Arrangements. FLOORED. My husband and I also used Arrangements for our wedding at The Parker on 10÷4÷14 and our experience was amazing! Like a previous reviewer, we hired Vanessa at Alchemy Fine Events who is based out of San Diego. Vanessa flat out told me… Luna is the florist I use in the Desert and she’s The Best. And I couldn’t agree with this statement more! Combined, these two were a DREAM TEAM! Luna is so incredibly talented and it doesn’t take a genius to figure this out. Her work speaks for itself… just browse the pages of Style Me Pretty or 100 Layer Cake or Martha Stewart Weddings or Green Wedding Shoes… she’s everywhere! And each wedding is so different and unique, but has a very romantic, ethereal quality to it. Our wedding was so perfect and beyond beautiful and I feel so incredibly lucky to have had Luna as my florist. EVERYONE at our wedding was dying over our flowers and our ceremony site. They kept saying it was the most beautiful wedding they’d ever been to. I have to agree… our flowers were breathtaking! Granted, I do think things will inevitably go wrong the day of the wedding, but that’s why I hired a wedding planner. And that’s why I gave Luna creative freedom to pick the flowers. I showed her examples of bouquets I love and showed her the colors I had to have and I left the rest up to her. Since she’s the florist in the desert, she’ll know what will hold in the desert heat and what won’t. With that being said, our flowers held up great all day in the 100 degree weather. My experience was amazing and I would definitely recommend Luna, she’s incredible!

I just got married a few weeks ago in Rancho Mirage and Luna with Arrangements did our flowers and we could not be happier with the incredible work that she and her team did to give us our fairytale wedding. We were excited about working with Luna from the very first moment we met her. She is incredibly knowledgeable and creative and focuses on every little detail. We went through several rounds of proposals as we tried to figure out the right flower combination and she was always so patient and responsive to all my questions and requests. It’s very clear that she loves what she does and we had the utmost confidence in her that she would deliver… and did she ever! And what I appreciated the most about her was her honesty. We were debating the extra cost of adding a drape and up lights to the partition wall in the ballroom and it meant a lot to me that she called me personally and gave me her honest view on how big of a difference it would make. I could tell how sincere she was in her tone, and we decided to do it and we are so glad we did. Thank you Luna and your team for the incredible work you did with our wedding. We would absolutely recommend Arrangements to all of our family and friends.

I made an appointment to see Luna at arrangements about two weeks in advance. My appointment was for 1pm, when I showed up, on time– she looked very confused and asked who had set my appointment that day as she had another appointment at 2pm. Since this was my first appointment she stated that an hour would be plenty of time to go over more or less what I was looking for. As we were walking into her office, her 2 o’clock appointment showed up and she sat them in a different office. When she returned she proceeded to tell me that since her other appointment had shown up (AN HOUR EARLY!!) that she would have to reschedule. She never called back to reschedule. Unprofessional and apparently doing so well that she can turn business away.

I have one regret from my wedding and it was the flowers. It was by far my biggest cost and I was utterly and extremely disappointed by the lack of communication and after exact direction, lack of execution. Sadly, I’m a perfectionist and cannot stop thinking about how she completely disregarded what I wanted and did what she wanted (after i told her i didn’t want it) on a day I will never forget.

Wow! I don’t know what all the negative reviews are all about. I have been meaning to write a review on Arrangements Floral and Party Design for quite some time now because I think they are absolutely incredible.
Not only am I a HUGE sucker for a beautiful bouquet with a serious expiration date, but I am ridiculously unoriginal in my choice of favorite flower as well! They offer a wonderful fresh selection of rare, but seasonal flowers, great and friendly attentive florists. They have a distinctive style and every single arrangement/​basket I’ve seen from them is absolutely gorgeous! Unique and thoughtful presentations and creative pairings. You really truly get above and beyond what you are paying for, which makes it an easy decision!
I received what I like to call an enchanted meadow of gorgeous flowers from them a couple years ago. Since then I have ordered a number of floral arrangements from them and have always gotten flattering compliments. They always deliver an arrangement that exceeds my expectations.
Indeed a phenomenal place to get flowers!

DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE! THEY ARE A TOTAL DISASTER.
Here is a letter detailing all the things that went wrong at my wedding on 5÷14÷11. I have received no response.

1. You never came to see me!
2. The groomsman boutinnerres were WILTED by the time we walked down the aisle. UNACCEPTABLE.
3. The bridesmaid bouquets were hot pink! WHY? They were supposed to be smaller versions of mine, as stated in the contract.
4. The family flowers were not distributed AND they were wilted! I had to send a bridesmaid over to find them at 5pm and when she returned with them I was passing out wilted flowers on granpas, grandmas, and parents. The photos had already begun though so I had no time to correct the situation. This is UNACCEPTABLE.
5. The poppies in the centerpieces were wilting prior to the event starting. UNACCEPTABLE. I had 2 bridesmaids and one guest run around the room after the ceremony and pull wilted flowers out of the centerpieces. Many centerpieces were left with absolutely no poppies. HORRIBLE.
6. The rectangle containers that were on the tables as centerpieces were supposed to LINE THE AISLE and you were to move them to the tables during the reception as stated in the contract. UNACCEPTABLE.
7. Additionally, the centerpieces were not even done as described in the contract. Their was supposed to be an OFFSET CLUSTER of flowers sticking out of the yellow flowers, as stated in the contract, however — the poppies were scattered in the yellow and I would have never approved that.
8. At 6:30pm when the hotel called you regarding the wall chart being wrong you said you were 1.5 hours away. Which is why you obviously had no idea that the flowers were wilting on the tables and also weren’t there to move them from the aisle to the dinner tables.
9. The SEATING WALL CHART was composed of a 11 cards — each with a location icon and the names to the right as discussed. The seating cards are how ppl find out what table they are sitting at and the table cards have just the icon printed on both sides to go into the table holders and are how guests locate their table. The strings were supposed to go from the seating card to the location on the map. You used my specially printed (I had to have the same printer who did my invitations do these) double sided table cards on the wall in addition to the seating cards, leaving me with no table cards! How did you mess this up? You obviously found the the table card HOLDERS because they were on the table– what did you think was going to go in there? You didn’t need to figure out which table was which– though you could have from seeing how many seats were at a table and match it up with how many names were on the card… you just needed to leave me with the table cards AVAILABLE. I had to have the hotel take all the table cards and string off the wall and photocopy the table cards (the double sided originals were ruined when they were taken off the wall) so that we had something to put on the tables. This all had to be figured out right before I was going to walk down the aisle!
10. The blue garland I provided was supposed to go ONLY over the dancefloor, as stated in the contract. You had it extending to over the tables and additionally, didn’t use all the garland I gave you. I ordered that specific amount after calling you to discuss the dimensions of dancefloor in relation to each garland being 12 feet long. UNACCEPTABLE.
11. The poms were supposed to be ONLY over the tables. Exactly 7 per table, as stated in the contract. You had poms over the dancefloor too in addtion to running down the middle of the head table. And some tables had no poms above them at all. UNACCEPTABLE.
12. You said that you loved using poms and had used them all the time and that working with 70 is ok. In fact, I originally only ordered 50 and you said — get more if you can. So I got 20 more. You called me around 3:11pm on MY WEDDING DAY and said that they didn’t come assembled. If you have worked with the many times previously, you must have realized that they don’t come puffed up. What did you expect? Why did you begin working on this at 3:11pm? And why would you put that on me to figure out? However, I sent you 11 of MY GUESTS and FAMILY who should have been getting ready for the wedding to help you and you still managed to mess everything up. Additionally, because I had to have FAMILY help– they weren’t ready when we began to take photos prior to the ceremony which was additional stress and havoc. Oh and wait, they didn’t have any flowers yet either. And when I fetched them– they were wilted.
13. My colors were, SUNSET colors. You had dark purple flowers on the arch for the ceremony. WHOSE COLORS ARE THOSE? Not mine. They were SO OUT of place! It appears that you reused décor from another wedding!
I could have over looked all the décor issues– but flowers wilted PRIOR to an event starting is just UNACCEPTABLE.

We recently got married at the Colony Palms Hotel in Palm Springs, and also hired Luna at Arrangements as our floral designer and to install lighting. First off, I have to say that our wedding was unbelievably beautiful and perfect, but I owe most of that credit to our coordinator and designer Vanessa at Alchemy Fine Events & Invitations and to the staff at the hotel. Second, DO NOT use Arrangements. Like other reviewers stated, myself and our coordinator thought Arrangements would be a good fit aesthetically and were also excited about having access to some of their décor props. This is, in part the reason I continued to deal with Luna’s complete lack of attention to detail and inability to respond to my various forms of correspondence.
The flowers Luna provided were beautiful {at 8:30am} however my maid of honor who is also a floral designer said they were not suited for the desert heat nor were they treated with anything to help them keep, and as a result were droopy by the time our 6:30pm ceremony started. The flowers were delivered at 8:30am Saturday morning by Luna, and she was onsite for 20 minutes never to be seen again. Later I learned they had 8 other weddings that day. It would have been fine if she had left behind «a professional team of designers who will deliver, set-​up and breakdown all of your floral décor» as stated in the company contract we signed. After having a post-​wedding conference call with the hotel, her team sounded anything but professional, drilling holes into the hotel’s roof and breaking bulbs in and around the pool. The hotel has said they are never welcome back to setup for an event.
Aside from the day of disasters we had to hear about later, Luna’s inability to respond to emails or phone calls was not only unprofessional but offensive and egregious. Just to give an idea of how our initial correspondence went: I first contacted Luna back in November, 2010 (our wedding was on May 7, 2011). It took one month to get her on the phone from my initial website inquiry, and another month to get some design ideas from her. From the time I met with her in Palm Springs at the beginning of February, it took another month to get a proposal, so now we’re in the beginning of March. And in between her radio silence I was emailing, calling and doing so on a fairly regular basis, and still nothing. This should have all been a red flag but by the beginning of March I had only 2 months before my wedding and wasn’t going to go searching for another floral designer, especially since I live in San Francisco.
Since the wedding I have sent her an email about my concerns and issues with her and the company. I don’t expect her to respond especially given her track record.

After about 2 ½ months, I did receive an email from Luna at The Arrangements. She denied and argued 99% of things that happened (even though I have all emails, invoices, and a wedding planner to prove it). She offered me a refund that is nothing close to what would make it close to better (about 10% back of what I requested). She actually made it worse by responding! I still highly recommend to not use The Arrangements as Luna is not professional enough to work on a wedding. What a regret!

Sadly, I do not recommend Arrangements Floral for your flower needs because of their lack of professionalism and follow through.
I was very impressed with their website and was very excited to use them for my wedding. However, they did not deliver what they promised to deliver. My bouquet was supposed to be blue hydrangeas and white roses. However, they delivered a bouquet of white hydrangeas that had been dyed blue — that morning most likely — that were still wet with the dye. When I picked up the bouquet, they dye came off on my hand and I had to used nail polish remover to get it off. Obviously, I couldn’t put that up against my white dress.
I definitely understand that things happen; however, I do have an issue with the fact that the first time I heard there was an issue with getting the blue hydrangeas was that day. Also when we called and asked them to pick up the bouquet, we never heard back from them. We also never heard back from the several calls my sister-​in-​law and I made in order to get our money back. Needless to say, we never got our money back. Oh well! Fortunately, my best friend/​bridesmaid was able to make an even more beautiful bouquet for A LOT less money — AND it didn’t dye my dress blue! :-)
