Always like coming here. Derek is always willing to help. All my transfers and purchases I make them here. The variety is limited but you can ask and they will find. Never rushed to get you out. Always undivided attention. Roy is very helpful too and well educated with the rules and regs up to date. Don’t go anywhere else!

Best shop in town! Derek will always help you out with info and best pricing for the area! You feel like family at this gun shop. No waiting in line for some punk kid to help you who plays video games, and thinks he knows it all. Oh and if you need fishing gear, they have it. Shoot on down and support a local business and not a big store with idiot employees!

This is our local go to gun Store, they are very knowledgeable and down to earth. I went in a week ago looking for a range finder for a gift for my husband, they didn’t have one(not much demand for them) and I didn’t even know what I was looking for so they told me they would make some calls and get back to me. As far as the bad review saying they didn’t know what they were doing when it came to taking a glock apart… I find that very hard to believe. These guys are not only a gun store, they are gun enthusiasts they know what they are doing… probably a competitor trying to tarnish their name… I’m pretty sure that review was written around the time a big chain gun store opened in the area? Hmm just saying

Took the opportunity to walk into this shop for the first time this morning and was very pleased with the service given as I walked out, clutching my only purchase– a can of cleaner. I went in with a whole lot of questions and requests for opinions which Roy and staff answered in straight-up fashion, without a hint of intimidation nor condescension. I was lucky the shop wasn’t busy with serious buying customers vying for attention, but notwithstanding it was obvious that these people are on top of their game, and know how to treat people walking through their door– with respect!

I recently went to the desert for a weekend class and decided to hit up some local gun shops during my free time. After driving around the little industrial plaza it’s located in, I checked out CV Guns & Ammo. It’s a small shop, as other reviewers have mentioned, but they seemed pretty well supplied with a decent selection of handguns, long guns, accessories, and ammo(no .22LR but I can’t fault them for that; it’s tough to find anywhere). After waiting my turn, I asked the gentleman behind the counter if I could see a couple of SIGs. He was very helpful and friendly, and although I wasn’t ready to buy anything right then, I did pick up a couple boxes of ammo which were priced very reasonably. I look forward to going back again to CV every time I visit my parents’ place in Rancho Mirage. Now about the«incident» the other reviewer had. Well, I understand where he’s coming from but in the end it was his own fault. Make sure you do your price shopping BEFORE you start your DROS and form 4473. It is not unusual for a gun shop to charge a restocking fee once the paperwork has been submitted to the DOJ(even Turner’s does it). Gun shop employees are no-nonsense people. Many of them are former military or law enforcement and are straight-shooting, meat & potatoes people. They like to keep things simple, don’t like drama, and demand respect. Once you show them respect, they always reciprocate.

First time AR buy was smooth and the staff spent the time educating me everything important that I needed to know about the AR type rifle. They priced an out the door price on a DPMS and I couldn’t find it cheaper anywhere online. They also said they would include a red dot. I am going back today to make the purchase. Extremely knowledgeable and helpful. I dont give 5 star ratings but these deserve it. Edit: They hooked it up! Bought about 3 attachments and iron sight for the rifle and they really cut a break. I highly recommend to everyone looking to make a big purchase.

I like these guys. I was able to get licensed quickly for a handgun here when no one else could do it. They’re very knowledgeable and I bought the perfect gun from them,(a beretta 9 mm with almost no recoil(which is what i wanted.) Gunsmith on staff which is great. One of the owners seems a little serious, but he’s a cool guy and very knowledgeable and patient once you get to talking. Not as cheap as other places but they’ve got a good selection. And they have ammo– in stock.

The shop is very small, the size of a small bed room, which I do not mind, I actually like small stores more than large ones a lot of the time. I over heard the two employees talking about Glock’s to set of customers about how reliable and popular and also how are the easiest handguns to disassemble and field strip for cleaning(all true). The customer asked them to show him how to field strip one and neither employee knew how and never did get it apart. I also asked«is that just a plain red dot sight?» and the guy simply says«I don’t know.» and handed it to me, for me to determine what his item was. Also some more but I do not feel like typing it all out. haha. I know they are a new shop so maybe the staff isn’t up to speed yet, but it kind of seemed like they didn’t know anything about their inventory and for being such a small shop with such a limited inventory you would think it wouldn’t be that hard. 2 stars because the employees were nice, just. uneducated, which isn’t so much their fault, manager and/or owner needs to do some better training.

Just bought a gun from cv guns and ammo. Nice, knowledgable guys. Decided to buy local and support our community instead of buying online or driving to inland empire. So instead of paying for gas, i paid a couple of bucks more locally. Same difference. I’m happy with their price and customer service. Will be back in the future.
