I am a hairdresser in San Diego, well-​established for 23 years with a high-​end clientele. One of my clients also has a home in The Vintage, in Indian Wells. She has exquisite taste and likes me to come out to the desert to do her hair for her events.
I did the research with several salons in Palm Desert to find a fit for a place this client would be comfortable, when I need to do her hair in Palm Desert. Dishwater Blonde salon is exquisite. It is so rare to find a salon that feels very classy and high-​end, while being very down to earth and cozy. This Salon reminds me so much of the salon I work at in San Diego, called Cut Hairdressing. If I lived in Palm Desert full-​time, I would definitely work at dishwater blonde. I am so proud to work there periodically for this one client. They sell the most amazing things too!!! Every time I work there for the day, I cannot leave without buying at least three things… Headbands to incredible clothing… The owner, Jen, has the most refined and exquisite taste… She even had incredibly beautiful jewelry there for sale when I was there. It is a nice added touch to the salon, in case you’re looking for a gift for a loved one. But with all of that, Dishwater Blonde Salon does not feel cluttered. Sometimes salons sell so many things that it starts looking like a swap meet. The salon manages to stay very classy & uncluttered in their displays.

And all of the staff is so welcoming and sweet. They all dress up nicely for work and really represent the class factor that goes with this salon. Not to mention they are all so friendly. Nothing worse than feeling intimidated in a lovely salon.
The salon is so perfect in every way. They do incredible work… They are classy… And they are soulful. What more could you ask for.

I’ve been looking for a hairstylist for years and after trying so many salons in this desert, I’ve finally found my spot! Dishwater staff is friendly and family oriented. Laree is my hairstylist for life! Her color and cut was amazing. Will definitely be coming back!

Seriously the best Salon in town! Now that I have found this place I won’t go anywhere else! I always get my hair done by Megan! She is amazing! I went in this last week to get my hair bleached something that I told myself I would never do because I have seen some terrible bleached hair but mine came out exactly how i pictured it! She does a wonderful job and is very personable! I love coming back just for her sweet attitude! I also love the style of the salon! Its very homey!

Blondes beware. I felt compelled to write and warn others after a near dísastrous visit to Claire at Dishwater. I walked a sandy /​honey/​caramel blonde with dark roots and left a strange medium blonde/​Brown color with an odd ashy tint. I was very clear that I only wanted to lighten the darker outgrowth and leave the rest untouched. In both cases, I didnt get that result — my darker colors were made even darker and the rest was darkened along the way. She claimed it was due to a glossing treatment that will rinse out in 2 Weeks. Well, I am Writing two Weeks to the day and i can tell you nothing is rinsing out and I am booked to get it fixed (somewhere else!). Honestly, it sounds vain and dumb, but it is so bad, I havent even looked in the mirror for two Weeks and have become creative wearing hats constantly until I can get it taken care of when I go to my regular salong. When I later texted Claire to give her feedback she claimed it was a miscommunication on her end (?) but frankly I just have such a hard time to Believe that. We were very clear in the consultation. I Believe she is not engaged with her client at all and lacks proper technique, training and understanding of hair Chemistry. Even though I would never have gone back to her, no offer of a touch up or compensation. I wouldnt have taken it, but it would have seemed a nice gesture. So summary: for blondes, best to avoid Claire at all COSTs. Sorry to give boring unpleasant feedback, but I wish I had been warned so I truly do it for others sake. I went to Dishwater Blondes for the first time yesterday, three of my girlfriends go there and their hair always looks marvelous! I have extremely fine hair, Lowell worked her magic and I simply love what she did to my hair. I’m now a permanent member of the Dishwater Blondes Club! Thank you Lowell!!!

Well… that was a bust. They put my appoint for the wrong day. #NiceFirstImpression The owner was nice, at least.

I’ve never written a review on anything but I have to this time! I have naturally dark and curly hair. I started the process of going blonde with my stylist that I have been going to for 15 years (half my life, literally). Slowly but surely we were achieving the blonde color that I wanted but I noticed my hair becoming a bit dry. My stylist never incorporated anything to maintain the moisture while stripping my dark color and when I made suggestions she wasn’t open to it. Needless to say my last visit to my old stylist resulted in tons of breakage! My hair was snapping off in my fingers on the way home from my appointment, no joke!
After nonths of babying my hair and drenching it in coconut and olive oil every week it was time for me to get another touch up and go lighter once again. Of course i was very hesitant to go back to my original stylist… I was introduced to an amazing stylist who’s work was really beyond my expectations. I wanted her hands on my hair but she was 8 hours from my hometown. Believe it or not I was planning a weekend trip 8 hours away just have my hair done and was committed to flying every few months for my touch ups! Crazy, I know! The problem was she was booked thru October and unable to fit me in before my Hawaii trip. So I explained my concerns to her and she said, find someone who uses and is very familiar with the olaplex treatments. Basically it’s a product that is mixed in with the color and then there is a 2^nd step conditioning treatment. Together, they preserve the integrity of the hair and prevent breakage. So I googled salons in the area using olaplex. Willing to take the risk of having a ‘stranger stylist’ touch my hair and make me blonder. I found Dishwater Blonde Salon and was scheduled with Megan… after saying all that I’ve said, I have to say Megan is the BEST!!! I absolutely LOVE my hair, I LOVE the color! Megan is excellent, she knows her stuff! My hair is no doubt healthier now after seeing her and we went even blonder with ZERO breakage! I will continue to have Megan take care of my curly blonde locks!

I am going to this salon from the time they opened their doors. This salon is beautiful, clean, and welcoming. All the hairstylist are wonderful and I personally love Jody she is amazing. I get so many compliment for my hair color and cut.

I have been going to Jodi for about 10 years now and she never ceases to amaze me! I trust her to do anything with my hair. I always look forward to going into the salon and getting pampered. The price is reasonable and not over the top like a lot of hair salons in the desert. It doesn’t matter where I move or where Jodi moves I’ll never go to another hair stylist ever again! It’s so hard to find a hair stylist who actually listens to what you want or that you can trust. With Jodi I sometimes go in and just let her do whatever color or cut on me if I don’t have a specific vision in mind and she never disappoints. She’s always learning new techniques and is a genius working with my super long hair! Jodi always makes me feel and look like a goddess!

Megan! Megan! Megan!! She is amazing!!! I was lost and needed someone to do my hair. It was horrible! I had gotten my hair done at a salon in San Diego and it turned out to be the worst experience of my hair life! My hair was ombré in a dip dye line of red and orange. I had no one to turn to and I was scared I was going to experience the same at any salon. I had to get it fix and needed someone who I can trust with my hair. Then MEGAN at Dishwater Blonde Salon did wonders on my hair and I am in love with my hair! I am so happy and I definitely recommend her to anyone. If your having a hair disaster like me or you just want a new hair color or style Megan is the stylist for you! By the way this salon is fabulous and friendly the girls who work there are so sweet and have a great fashion! :)

I’m pleased with my recent trip to Dishwater Blonde Salon. It’s a little hard to find but it shares a parking lot with Rose Mortuary. The salon is cute, the stylists are friendly and the place is clean. I had Megan cut my hair and style it for me. She is darling and we bonded over similar life experiences. She gave me what I asked for a curly Bob with layers. She took time with me to show me how to style my hair. I found her services to be reasonably priced. I will defiantly go back again.

I don’t normally write reviews but this place deserves 927 496 028 156 720 stars! I was searching for a new place to get my hair done that stays on top of the latest hair trends and I was super nervous about picking the right place. A bad hair cut and color is an expensive mistake both literally and figuratively. Dishwater blonde exceeded every expectation and prayer! I was able to get an appointment right away with Jacqueline; who gave me the cutest cut and some balayage highlights. Not only was she awesome the price was unbeatable! I would recommend this place to ANYONE and EVERYONE! I now have fabulous hair thanks to dishwater blonde and Jacqueline

The stylist who tinted my eyebrows was friendly, attentive and professional. She asked important questions about how I wanted my brows to look, explained the process each step of the way, and made me feel comfortable with the whole experience. She listened openly to my concerns and responded positively to a small change I wanted to make. Highly recommended salon!

I would follow Morgan Stein any where… she is the best! The salon is bright, airy, and has a very restoration hardware vibe. They are really friendly and sincere, not a stuffy place like those on El Paseo. This is a bright, cheery, fresh and super clean salon. And with my crazy schedule Morgan is always accommodating. I only wish I could afford to have her do my hair everyday! I always feel like a million bucks after every visit with Morgan. Oh and they even have amazing glass tchotchke items for sale that are handmade by a local artist. They are truly unique glass bottles and crosses. They also carry hair products and unique hair accessories.

This place is wonderful and everyone is very friendly! Megan does such a phenomenal job! She always does exactly what I want to my hair! I honestly leave the salon loving my hair! I really recommend this salon and Megan! She is awesome! Will definitely be back :)

This salon is just the cutest salon ever. I love walking into it, I love how warm and inviting it is and my favorite part about it– Morgan Stein. She has been my stylist for years, she always makes me feel so beautiful and I always have a great time with her. I always look forward to my appointments at Dishwater Blonde!

So, here I have found where I can always go to get highlights. I’ve been going to Megan and she does a great job. What she did (which I have never had done before) is put in the highlights, then when I’m at the shampoo bowl, she puts in another application on my roots that lifts the base too. It looks really good. I have gone maybe six times now and it is always the same result, very pretty. Also, a big factor for me, this salon is large and open and has absolutely NO chemical smell. They also sell some accessories. Nice place all around, reasonable rates too so I can afford to go every 6 — 7 weeks or so. Last time I went was right before Christmas and my hair still looks good. Five stars!

Love this place! Jodi has been doing my hair for years, in fact I followed her to the Dishwater Blonde Salon. As a licensed hairdresser myself, I know quality work and I have full confidence in Jodi’s ability to carry out pretty much any cut/​color I am in persuit of. She is full of suggestions and ideas and is always on the cutting edge of what’s hip/​fun in the hair world. The salon décor by Jennifer and Lowell is genius! Very current, comfortable and clean — more like spotless. The salon runs like a well oiled machine and it is clear to see that customer service is paramount here. All of the stylists are very creative and talented, you really can’t go wrong with any of them. The salon owners have a lot to be proud of. I have, and will continue to recommend Dishwater Blonde Salon to my friends, family and colleagues.
