David H.

Business Owner

David Hanson entered the garage door industry in 1998. In the ensuing years, with a group of partners, he helped build the largest garage door franchise service company in the United States. Not only is he a highly skilled professional technician, but he is also very experienced in all phases of the garage door industry. David’s business philosophy is very simple: treat your customers like gold, always give great service and only sell top quality products backed by the best warranties!

In 2007, David decided to give it a go on his own and started Hanson Overhead Garage Door Service in Reno, NV. Hanson Door has grown since then to five current locations, with plans to open up many more in the not too distant future. David sold the Reno location as a franchise in 2012 and went in search of somewhere to live with warm winters. From the moment he and his wife set foot in the Palm Desert/​Palm Springs area, they both knew that they had found their new home!

The garage door wouldn’t open all the way. Guy said I needed new door opener. I tried to get him to just oil and service but I let the salesman bully me into replacing the opener. I’ve now done compared shopping with other installation companies and when I told them the price they laughed and said I was taken. I way overpaid for the job. I feel embarrassed that I let a hard sales pitch convince me to be a sucker by trusting their word. I recommend not using this company unless you shop around. The sales guy was very hard sell and I just didn’t have the time or energy to combat him. I hate being a sucker and even hate more the companies like this that take advantage of people.

Happy to recommend Hanson Overhead Garage Door Service. Polite and professional, Justin arrived right on time and immediately identified the problem… broken spring. I had it replaced and decided to replace the opener as well. It was all completed in a short time with a guarantee. There’s a reason all the reviews are 5 stars.

Great service! We contacted David from out of town and he was over that day. David inspected the door called back with a report and estimate and got the entire project done by early evening. We paid by credit card the next day all from out of town and problem solved! Highly recommend!

Our garage door spring broke and we could not open the door. Went to the computer to find a way to open the door with a broken spring and found Hanson garage door service. They said 24 hour service, so I called at 6:45am expecting to get an answering machine. Instead I got David! I explained the problem and he made an appointment for us. Justin Brown, the serviceman, arrived before the scheduled time! Was very friendly, polite and professional. He fixed our door in no time! Went over a few things we will need in the future, but there was no hard sell. We will be using Hanson’s again in the future and recommend them to all our friends and neighbors! Thank you for a job well done!

I never thought of getting my garage door serviced until I heard about Hanson’s Garage Door Service. Dave the owner arrived on time and explained in simple terms what was needed to get my 10 year old garage door back in shape. He was very honest and ethical and didn’t try to upsell me on items I didn’t need. He provided a written estimate before he started the job and finished under budget. What a surprise in today’s world. My garage door is like new again, thanks to Hanson’s Garage Door Service. They get a big 5 star rating from me.

Love the owner David — super great service and came out quickly! MUCH better experience than local and lousy Abracadabra out of Palm Desert. That guy was horrible and rude.
David is really experienced and may even help get us new doors in a few years when these ones just plain wear out.

As luck would have it my garage door broke on a Sunday. I thought for sure I would not get it fixed until Monday, but luckily I called Hanson. To summarize, the owner David came out the same day and provided me various options for repairing the door, from the minimal to get it running, to his recommendation. I opted for his recommendation and could not be happier. The door runs better than before and is extremely quiet. David is extremely knowledgable and provided excellent customer service. I highly recommend his company for any of your garage door needs!

i read on the internet but you never really know. It was Friday night and with the Car now held hostage I had to make a decision spoke with Dave and felt comfortable with his assessment. He was quick to respond showed up on time and was more than FAIR in his pricing no double talk no taking advantage of the weekend time frame. I found a new Home source and could’t be more satisfied!!! Thanks Hanson!

David performed much-​needed maintenance on my LiftMaster double garage door. Replaced sensors that were unreliable, tuned up the lift mechanism, and installed very quiet rollers. Wow, what a difference! Door operates much more smoothly and with much less noise. He knows this business inside out and was great to deal with. Always prompt and great communications. I will have him do my annual service check and maintenance from now on. Highly recommend — AAA+++

My garage door failed and could not be closed. I called David Hanson and he came out to my home that evening and he was able to release my door so that it would close. He offered me three options to fix or replace my door. I chose a complete rebuild which included all new hinges, springs, cables ect. We arranged for an appoint after the weekend and my work was done completely to my satisfaction. The price was as quoted. The work was well done and the door works perfectly. I would highly recommend Hanson for any type of garage door repair. David is an Honest sincere service provide that can be trusted to give an honest appraisal and complete the job as promised. Our garage door broke and I called And talk to David. He was able to come over the following hour. Which was so helpful because we needed to have access to our garage to get our equipment out for an event we had that day. He was very professional and friendly. He was able to get us access to our equipment which was a huge help. He needed an extra part and said he would come back the next day to complete the job and he did. Garage door fell off track this morning and with 2 hours the door was repaired. David was informative, professional, and very courteous. He pointed out some weaknesses in our system and we were able to repair them as well. Our garage door now has new rollers and works smoothly and quietly. It’s hard to find good quality service at a fair price when it’s an emergency situation but we found it.
