I ordered a Greek Salad. The only thing that made it Greek was the feta cheese and some Kalimata Olives. Vegetables were brown and rotten. Dressing was straight up vinegar. I asked for a piece of Pis and I was told it was an Additional $ 1.60 $ 8.10 for some rotten vegetables And cheese. Go somewhere else!

I’m going to be polite and give them two stars. No, driving away I have a stomach ache and a dreadful taste in my mouth. 1 star. From the outside it looks like it might be a halfway decent basic restaurant, along the lines of a Denny’s. When you get inside, you discover that it’s a cafeteria. All of the ingredients are either canned or frozen. If it were 2 o’clock in the morning, and I were a hundred miles from Amarillo, I wouldn’t mind stopping here. If I had a choice, I’d go elsewhere. Another reviewer wrote about the great huevos rancheros. I’m sorry that person has never had good huevos rancheros. On the upside, service is very fast.

The food is incredible for such a fair price. John’s California breakfast burrito is by far my favorite in the area. The place can get busy so I like to call ahead for pickup or dine-in. Very friendly service and overall great place to eat! It’s a favorite with the locals. Definitely recommend it!

John’s in Palm Desert is the only place I have gotten food poisoning from. It happened about 26 years ago, I was so violently ill I stayed away for 20 years. About 6 years ago I got the courage to go back and try them again. So for about 6 years I was enjoying their burgers and pastrami melts. The pastrami was always one of my favorites. I ordered a pastrami melt today(after being ignored by the cashiers for quite a while) it took forever to get it and when it arrived it was very dark brown and looked more like beef jerky? I was very hungry but I hesitantly ate it against my better judgement. I am violently ill and I guess I won’t be going back. I almost took a photo of my sandwich, I wish I would’ve, it looks just as bad coming back up

This diner has a wonderful menu and their fried chicken is out of this world. The waiters are very friendly and the place is very clean. A popular place with the locals.

Quality food at a great price! Huge portions all around! Be prepared to wait when busy… advice is to call ahead and order!

If this is the same johns as the one in the BNP parisbas tennis centre, this is the worst burger I have had in the US, tastes of cardboard didn’t finish it.

All items in the Menu are beyond amazing & with a unique cooking style. I enjoy having the turkey burger or any of the salads at any given time.

I love coming to this place the food especially my usual order the chicken sandwich with the bacon, lettuce, cheese and can’t forget the huge avocado! Yummy :) my sister job is not far from there so on my days off we go and have lunch. The place does get busy during those hours but believe me it’s fast service including this waitress that’s very sweet. I’m not sure what her name is but she always checks on us seeing how we’re doing. Always smiling :) The trip is worth it and never fails on me

So my family and I frequent this establishment alot so as usual we call and place our order! So today I go to pay and was not notified that prices have changed even though(the old) prices are on the digital menu in front of me. So I get home and call and ask when did the prices change the lady says today! Wow … So when tourist are in town the cheapest thing on the menu goes from 6.95 to 9.18 …Johns don’t forget without us locals during the summer you guys would never make it! Not very satified!

We stopped here after a visit to the Living Desert. A lot of choices on the menu. i went with the Chicken Pita which is really a chicken gyro. It was good but messy to eat. My Aunt had the BLT which was huge and tasty. You order at the counter and select a seat and they bring you your order. It is a nice clean establishment with good food at a reasonable price. I would like to come back for breakfast because the choice looked good.

We came to John’s for lunch, expecting to get a good basic diner meal. Instead we were unpleasantly surprised by disappointing food and service. First of all, the diet coke just tasted like pure chemicals. When I mentioned this to the server, she said I’d have to talk to the owner. I returned to the order counter, and the owner told me, «There’s nothing wrong with the soda. It must be your taste buds»…Really!!! That’s the way to speak to a customer?!! After we got our food, the server avoided us like the plague. It was practically impossible to attract her attention. In conclusion. Johns offers overpriced, very mediocre quality food and absolutely awful service. Two thumbs down!

A very good diner choice for those looking for an alternative to both the hotel restaurant and the fast food chain. Had the BBQ ribs special, and they were done well. Homemade chicken noodle soup was fantastic, and the burgers my daughters had were a good size and cooked well. Wife had the gyro place, which she enjoyed, and the place was very clean! Our server was the sweetest lady. We will be back for our regular trips to Palm Desert!

Eggs & bacon w/sourdough bread Cooked to perfection! I like my eggs cooked medium and good thick bacon– ingredients satisfied my desires! You order at the Counter but once you do there is ample seating provided– with a comfy room temperature. I like the ambiance, which is casual or business casual, so you relax and enjoy. I will return! Best regards, PJ

Usually I give John’s kudos for their burgers and salads but tonight I wanted a steak. So I understand that I should not order a steak at a burger place but hey I said why not? The steak was supposed to be medium and was well done. It was a $ 12 piece of shoe leather. I told the server and she acted like they were doing me a favor by taking it back. I was sorely disappointed with the food and service tonight. Shame on you John’s!

John’s is a great local diner. I have usually ordered the same items and recommend them. The Cowboy burger is delicious, perfectly cooked bacon with a yummy bbq sauce and onion ring. Sometimes I order the California burger which is equally as delicious. The grilled cheese with bacon is a staple order as well. These items I know well and love. The onion rings are good with the burger but not my favorite style as a substitute for fries. I have enjoyed the food there and to go.

Husband and the kids’ favorite place to go for breakfast and we have been eating here for years. The staff is friendly and the same staff has been working here for years. They have a large assortment of menu items. Always consistently good and they have huge portions at a low price. Here, you order at the counter, take a seat and then they bring to you your meals. My husband’s favorite breakfast item is the huevos rancheros. Mine is the simple bacon and eggs with hash browns. Their only downside is it needs a furniture update. Definitely a favorite of many, it is usually busy and sometimes you have to wait to get a seat. When the weather is nice, there is outdoor seating.

I suppose this place is better than a Denny’s. Food comes out quick, extensive menu. Good for breakfast. 80’s-90’s décor Somewhat clean If you need something, you need to go up to the cash register — no table service. It’s pretty quiet, not bad to get a bite to eat and bring a laptop to do some work(wifi needs password). Parking can be a pain sometimes.
