Melos Pools & Spa

I interviewed 7 companies and chose Melo’s pools because of their professionalism, efficiency, and reasonable costs. Upon completion of my pool project I was not disappointed and will refer them in the future. I had a big pool, backyard and entertainment area project and along the way every issue was addressed, corrected and never at an additional cost. They have been Johnny on the spot with every call, text and email. As for Pete’s complaint about some of the people not being covered by Melo’s pools Worker’s Compensation, there is a reason. Some jobs such as Pebble Tec, Concrete, fencing, or Lanscaping are subcontracted companies and is how pool building works. Subcontractors are responsible for the workers comp insurance and if the worker is hurt on a pool project, the subcontractor files the claim. So no Melos doesn’t have workers comp for some workers, but that worker is still covered by workers comp on the job. Same with building a home or a park or any other type of construction. So unfortunately «Pete» authored a negative review, without much merit, due to his lack of understanding the construction business or insurance coverage. Albeit, some companies have all the trades employed by one construction/​builder, but it is rare.

After getting numerous quotes from pool refinishers, I chose Melo’s. First, the bid was the most professional and easy to understand, including a list of references without any surprises. The quality of the work was great, and it was done on time. I highly recommend Melo’s. Whenever I called the office, I received very responsive service.

very frustrating experience, work that wasn’t done correctly, 7 months after the project started I’m still trying to get issues resolved and will have someone else correct them. It appears now that we have come to an impasse and will go to court.

We had our pool re tiled and new pebble. Alberto and his crew were professional and had an excellent work ethic. The job was completed in a timely manner. We were delighted with the results.

We were looking to add a spa to our existing «classic-​look» Pam Springs pool. We interviewed several companies, but Melo’s was the one that suggested the best location and look for what we wanted. The price was less than the other quotes.
We felt that the work, once started, was continuously on-​going, interrupted only by the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays. We never felt that multiple days went by without any idea of what was going to happen. While we actively monitored the work and the progress, they were extremely professional and courteous about responding to our requests, questions, and changes.
We were very happy with the final product. The owners made themselves very available when we had questions.

After an initial miss — Alberto demo’d and replaced the bad concrete surround with a prefab tile that works perfectly and looks great!

What a disaster !!! Having a pool built was an endless nightmare, when it should have been fun and exciting. Multiple construction errors, getting everything right took a year, then the main water intake pipe leaked at 18 months. The owner is very personable, great design, great sales pitch, but poor follow up and did not arrive when major repairs were done. Took days or even a week to return e-​mail or calls. Later discovered Melos does not carry workers compensation insurance, ‘because’ they do not have any employees??? Who were those guys that built the pool and said they had been working at Melos for years? Just glad none of them were injured, who would pay if they were? My best advice would be ‘move on’ and get another company. I would never ever ever recommend this company.

I just had my pool refinished with new tile and pebble. It was a huge job but the work got done beautifully. All work was done on time, and they were very professional. I am extremely pleased with the finished product and highly recommend their services.
