What a thief!!! I too am out money and items and was treated by her sister like I was the crook. Screamed, was rude not only to me but to the one phone call she decided to answer while I was there trying to finally pick up the few items I could. In the 50 plus times I have called this place only twice did she even bother to pick up the phone. Then to have her scream and belittle you is unreal. I feel so sad for all her victims. Just remember what they say about Karma… She will receive it back 10 fold.

Sad to agree with other posters… have consigned here for many years… noticed in the past 1 – 2 years getting very little money while still taking in same quantity/​quality clothes. Called multiple times to get new address, hours, request a check be mailed, etc. leaving numerous messages which were never returned & no check received. Ultimate was to receive email that business closing and «no monies to be paid out»…How do you spend others money and then close without paying them??? Sad to think you’re dealing with someone reputable only to find that they are not. Think we’ve all fallen on hard times but when you screw other people out of what they’re rightfully entitled to… NOT GOOD BUSINESS OR KARMA.

I have now joined the ranks of those victimized by Caroldean. I brought in three high condition Hermes ties last Summer which I was notified in writing were listed at $ 130 each. I was told to call monthly to see if they sold — was told everytime no. I went in today to collect and was met by the rudest clerk ever who showed me a lame box of thrown in ties in no order or presentation and none of my ties were there.
If she sold my ties for $ 360 and victimized just another 100 people for the same amount — some reviews say much more — then we are looking at a woman who easily stole $ 40,000 or more. This is grand theft felony. I am open to joining any class action civil or criminal suit against Caroldean Ross.
And how about the recorded news interview that she cannot feed her kid and is on unemployment. Running a shop and jacking people is not unemployment — it is conducting a deliberate criminal enterprise. I will contact EDD to look into this. I hope they demand all of those benefits repaid.
And how can she not feed her kid with all of the jacked cash? This is a woman who needs to be corrected in many ways civally and criminally.
When I looked for my ties today I noticed many mink and leather coats hidden in the back room. My bet is they will be on a truck rented by her around 2AM. My hope is the Sherriff will padlock the place prior pending criminal investigation.

Also, said she gave away the items that didn’t sell. Never gave me the chance to pick those up. Probably sold and took all the money.

Total thief. Carol Dean Ross & Resale Therapy runs the most unethical and deceptive business. She will gladly accept your clothing, then sell them for a profit and then not pay you what is owed. Gives you the total run around when trying to collect and some lame excuse. I do not recommend this business as you are only supporting her to steal from someone else. Shameful — I would have rather donated to Goodwill. Don’t believe the positive reviews — anyone can have their friends write one.

By far the worst business I have ever encountered. I consigned my clothing with this shop 3 years ago and have made several attempts to collect my money. The owner stated she sent a check twice. She has not once returned a phone call to me in three years and when I go to the shop to collect the money she is never there. The employee that was there the last time just shrugged when I asked if this happens often. Please do not give this business your money. To the owner, get it together and return a phone call.

This place is great. Excellent selection, great brands and when things are marked down they are marked down! A whole room of 60% off or 9.99 or less… and it’s not junk! I got a lululemon sweatshirt for 7.99 and it looks brand new! Store is nicely organized with a selection of pretty much everything you’d want to browse, from shoes, bags, jewelry to clothing from lounge to cocktail attire. And the staff was also amazing, so informative and friendly!

I just think this store is wonderful! I stopped by with a friend to help her choose a dress, but I’m the one who ended up buying something. I love vintage, but I’m not an impulse buyer. It’s such a clean, organized and beautiful store, it’s easy to find something you can’t live without. Helpful salespeople who don’t hover. A lovely shopping experience.

I love going to Resale Therapy! I have been going there for several years now and I always find something great! I drop off things that I have not worn or used in the past year and I buy something totally great without spending hardy any money! The staff and Carol Dean are very professional and helpful. They know what I like and what looks good on me so they just keep bringing things into the dressing room until we find the right thing! It is like having your own personal shopper! The merchandise is high quality and I have bought many unworn designer items from here. It is a must if you like consignment stores!

I really like this store and the periodic bag sales. It’s neat and clean, and the staff and owner are all very, very nice. The clothes are fantastic and in really good shape. Now, THIS is the way to present a resale clothing store. I have moved from the desert but used to go there often and know that, when I visit, this store will be on my must go to list.

While, I appreciate your «kindness» but, it was really a d*ck move. I would have been 100% satisfied if you gave me an honest answer instead of giving false hope. And no, you were not the only store I contacted in the area, in fact, all of the other stores in the area referred me to you. I already knew the market I was dealing with and I rather get a real answer than some fake sincerity (I left that in LA why should I deal with it here?). I would have dealt with the fact that I couldn’t sell it here in CV and figured out something else. I’m an adult can deal with rejection and it seems that you have not grown up and have not dealt with real business situations.
You get the one star because you lack integrity. You were dishonest and wasted my time. These are acts of poor business and yes everyone will see. Low? Yes but, I’m only stooping to your level.

I am SO unimpressed with this store! As a consignor, it is is less than very difficult — I am actually UNABLE to get in touch with them by telephone!!! What clothing store doesn’t answer the phone? All you get is a lengthy message and then, «mailbox full.» Really? Come on! You’re a consignment store — and not even on El Paseo. What egos! This is horrible customer service. My good clothing may automatically go to donation just because I cannot get the store to answer a phone, nor can I leave a message. To make matters worse, I live two hours from here! I will NEVER bring my designer apparel/​accessories here again and I will tell everyone I know here in the valley of my experience! I come from a consignment background and I’ve never seen any retail store run like this. Clearly, I am appalled!!! Celebrities who own stores manage them much better by themselves or a highly competent staff.

Caroldean’s Resale Therapy is a very high end classic Vintage Store! A MUST shop at when you are coming to Palm Springs! This store is unique and you will find just what your looking for! If your shopping for a dress for that specific event or Coachella Festival!!!

Nice selection, but prices on the higher side for my preference. Great designer items if that’s what you are after. I saw Prada and other designer shoes, but she was asking $ 25 for a pair of DKNY shorts with a stain no less. way overpriced!
Very friendly and helpful staff. Different colored tags are on different discounts, rangung from 20−60%. at her prices, unless it’s half off it’s too high for my taste.
If you’re looking for deals, go to the Goodwill across the street. (In the same parking lot as McDonalds). You Won’t see as many designer names, is but It will be a lot easier on your wallet!

Fantastic consignment hunting at this Palm Springs classic
I have gone here for years whenever I visit PS, and though the new location in Cathedral City is a lot smaller than the downtown Palm Springs store, it retains its very high quality products and friendly professional staff. The pricing is very fair, and the items carefully curated. The designer room is mind blowing. I bought a pristine Chanel coat there 8 years ago, and a Chloe dress there this year. Both $ 300, so at least 10x cheaper than actually buying from the source. Not clear what is going on with the negative reviews, but this complaining from the disgruntled is actually great for people who love this store, because the sourpusses won’t be fighting me for the great clothes i will be buying there next time. Don’t believe all that negativity…

Not sure how Carole S can even compare RESALE to Shirley’s! Merchandise at RESALE is so much better than Shirley’s. Staff at Resale — i have never had a problem with (nor at Shirleys) My guess i Carole is just a negative person or does not now the difference between a thrift shop and a consignment shop

I have consigned with Caroldean several times and have NEVER had any problem collecting my money nor have I had her be anything but candid with me regarding the items I bought in to potentially sell. I love the array of clothing, coats, shoes, cowboy boots, gowns, purses, accessories, etc., that one finds there and have shopped at her four stores during my 10 years here in the Coachella Valley… she is one of the première business people in the area donating a lot of her almost non-​existent extra time to charities. People forget that resale or re-​purposed means just that… it’s not new. Her stringent rules on consigning demand that all items be cleaned and pressed and free of spots, stains or tears so I’m not understanding some of these posts!!! I’m happy!

Caroldean is fantastic to work with. She has an incredible eye for fashion and has filled her store with quality great looking merchandise. She really does a great service for both her sellers and buyers alike. Thanks for being so great at what you do.

Great store for consigners and buyers. The staff are very helpful and there are many great choices here. I have shopped here many times and have consigned here also. Always a great experience! If you are lucky enough to be in the store when Caroldean is there, you will meet a generous and kind person with a great eye for what will look fabulous on you!
