Smog Dog Palm Desert is a State of California certified «Test Only» Station. We can test any vehicle, regardles of what your renewal notice states. We can certify gross polluters, change of ownerships, out of state, in addition to biennial smogs. All we are allowed to do is smog, which means we have no bias to fail you because we will not benifit from the sale of repair work. Which means honest accurate testing of your vehicle.

We are also a licensed DMV business partner, providing vehicle registration services. We can process annual renewals (no smog required), title transfers (family transfers, change of ownership etc.) If you fail your smog, we can post your deposit of fees to help you avoid further late penalties. WE ISSUE NEW TAGS ON SITE. Which means when you leave our shop, your done!

History

Established in 2001.

The Smog Dog name was created in 2001. As many as 5 or more Smog Dog test only centers existed at one time, owned by one central entity. Today only the Palm Desert, Bermuda Dunes, and Yucca Valley stores exist. The store that was in Palm Springs and Temecula have since changed names. Today each Smog Dog location is an independently owned and operated business, divided between two owners; the Bermuda Dunes and Yucca locations being owned by one, and the Palm Desert store by another.

Manager

Daniel had been smogging cars since December 2007, and has been tinkering with project cars with his dad ever since he was old enough to drive. Daniel has over 9 years experience in the customer service/​retail field, more than half spent in a management role. He has spent time working with the Riverside Police Department, Pechanga Casino, which he considers he favorite stops on his way to his current position as General Manager of Smog Dog Palm Desert.
