La Mirage Salon & Spa

Rebecca is the only person I trust with my hair. She does my layer so perfect to where I don’t have any choppiness in it. Some people say there is no such thing as perfect hair cut but I can actually say that she does the perfect job! I definitely recommend this salon for those who want a really good hairstylist. If you do happen to go there I highly recommend you asking for Rebecca.

I have been going to LaMirage for 15 years. I now see Rebecca and am so happy I found her. She listens to me and is kind and friendly. It is expensive, but well worth it to have someone you trust with your hair. I love Rebecca and hope she never leaves.

been here twice and NEVER AGAIN!
They can’t seem to understand what «TRIM» means. They confuse trim with butcher! You need to learn basic skills, such as when cutting curly hair wet, it will shrink as it dries. SO… when someone wants a trim, keep in mind the drying and shrinkage.
ANOTHER visit, I had the Brazilian blowout. What a mistake. My hair has been thinner ever since.
⁰⁄₂ means they can’t handle it.
If you want an artist who listens well, go to Whole Aveda (just a bit more south).

I finally visited the spa and so glad I did! I had a Swedish massage and facial. Both were relaxing, professional and clean. The spa has a huge waterfall in the middle and you can hear it in the room. I love it! They also have a sauna you can use.
My only complaint is the robes. They were pretty worn. Other than that, no complaints! I’ll be back for sure!

I have been coming to La Mirage for over 10 years to have my hair done by Vanessa. She is warm, friendly, and always takes the time to listen. She provides beautiful cuts, color, and she explains how to style it. I’m sure I’ll regret writing this, because now I’ll have to compete for appointments. She is the best and I thought it selfish not to share.
Also, I have been having my waxes done by Tari for years. She will make you feel comfortable, provides the least painful waxes possible, and she is a perfectionist. I’ve gone to other high-​end salons in the past & they don’t even compare. Once I found Tari, I swore I would never go anywhere else.

I have been going to La Mirage since around 2002 for my hair. When Star left around 2007 I moved over to Marinella. What can I say about this amazing beautiful Italian young lady. She listens to your suggestions, cuts hair amazingly and I feel I can just leave her to do what She does best, cut my hair! Go book an appointment with her you will not be disappointed… By the way all the staff are super cool and friendly.

The spa itself is beautiful. The decorations are nice and everything is always sparkling clean when I go in. The waterfall in the back waiting area is a nice touch!
The woman at the front desk isn’t very friendly, but I put up with it because the lady who does my facials (Deborah) is awesome!
Deborah is very welcoming and kind, and she is excellent at what she does. I have oily and problematic skin, and she really knows how to clear it up and give my skin a gorgeous glow. She never makes me feel rushed during my appointments, and takes her time to make sure every single pore is cleaned out. My skin looks great for weeks afterwards!

Living in Palm Harbor for a short 2 year time period, this was my go-​to place for salon services. When it comes to waxing, Tari is the best hands down. Nikki did my hair once as well and she was really friendly, attentive, and knowledgable.

First time in the salon. I saw Louis for a cut and color. I immediately had confidence in him! He went over the color swatches with me until we found something we liked. He did not proceed with doing anything before asking me if what he was doing would be okay. I really appreciated that. He engaged in conversation with me pretty much the whole time. Unlike other stylists I’ve been too that are snotty and didn’t say a word. I was happy with both his cut and his color. At the end he showed me a quick tour of the facility. He asked me more than once if I wanted a beverage or needed to use the bathroom before we get started on another thing. Only thing I would say he could work on is time. For a highlight, toner, cut, and style I was in there from 4−730pm. I didn’t mind being there that long but my fiancé did. he was hungry and waiting for me to go out to dinner lol I really liked Louis. and thanks for the great cut and color!

I have been going to Olga, the owner, for almost 20 years. There is no one that I trust more with my hair. About 5 years ago I moved to Fort Lauderdale but I continue to make the drive back to get my hair done. I have tried many stylists down south but have never as been as happy or relaxed as when I leave La Mirage.

When I arrived in Florida in 1993 I went on the hunt for a great stylist and colorist. My method was to get a mani/​pedi and watch the stylists. I found Olga and never looked back… Love the color and cut, every time! I say ‘Edgy’ and she creates it, suitable for my hair type. What always amazes me is the cut grows out even and balanced and stays looking great until time for the next cut/​foil, it can be as long as 9 weeks. The Spa is relaxing and beautiful and I have always been happy with the services and especially the staff. Olga and her staff stay fresh, current and evolving, always on top of new styles and color trends. Everyone walks out of La Mirage looking fabulous! Wow, nearly 20 years with one stylist, and still happy … gotta be a record!

I’ve been going here for 15 years! Won’t let anyone else but Olga cut my hair! Plus, they’ve added a day spa, so you could really spend all day here. Major plus is that they keep the prices fair!

My old stylist moved, so I tried Richard Knight at LaMirage Salon. Best cut and color I have ever had. He is the KING of color.

Nicole West did my hair for my wedding! she is truly talented at coloring and styling. We did my hair half up half down with jeweled pins and curls. She listens to you and then creates a work of art on your head! She is very kind and has a great sense of humor. I have also seen her extension work and it is amazing!

My 17 year old son purchased a $ 45.00 pedicure for my birthday. In the package was a folder showing the prices for pedicures. indicating it was a minimum 45 minutes… he was so excited to purchase this I was excited to go as well. This was a real treat that I was looking forward to.
When I called to make the appointment, the girl on the phone was distracted and not listening at all. I added an appointment for a manicure as well. I explained I would like a morning appointment on a Friday. She told me to come in at 10:30. I arrived at 10:20 and was rushed to the manicure room. I got the impression that they thought I was late. The manicurist gave me a decent manicure, nothing great it was $ 35.00. This included special polish guaranteed to stay on for 2 weeks.
She ushered me into the pedicure room where the foot portion of the chair kept moving back and forth and my foot keep slipping off the chair. Not the comfortable chairs they have in other salons I have been. It was clearly broken. I had to ask her if I could put the massage on the back chair, she got annoyed and put the chair on for about 2 seconds another employee came over to help me.
She put my feet in the water for about 2 minutes maybe three tops and pulled them out, ran a cheap dollar store wooden stick on my foot and then wrapped my feet in a towel. Wiped some cheap lotion on my feet and then she started to paint my toenails…
All I can say is 20 minutes and wham I was outta there. She sent me on my way with wet nail polish on my feet …
I went to pay and when the receptionist asked me how it went, I tried to explain to her but she clearly did not care… All I can say is WOW. You would think that an upscale salon that charges top dollar for a pedicure would have a professional behind the desk dealing with guests in a professional manner. I went to leave and noticed that my nails were all smudged. She did not put anything between the toes or have me sit 5 minutes to have them dry. I went to speak with the owner who clearly was rude, and said to me «oh, this is not worth getting upset over» Really! Like $ 80.00 is nothing to spend on a
manicure and pedicure that costs half at the mall stores.
anyway, I will never return here again. Stick to the mall girls. it’s a better value and better service…

I’ve been to La Mirage several times. I’ll share 2 experiences that I think will be helpful to those who are shopping for a new salon.
Pedicure:
I agree with the previous post about the pedicure room and the lack of professionalism in some of the staff. I experienced the exact same lack of consideration it’s like they pretend their client is not there. The person giving me my pedicure was pregnant and having relationship problems and even began to sob. Getting a pedicure is something special and it’s something I don’t get to do as much as I would like to. So I was really looking forward to a relaxing experience and I felt a lot of anxiety while I was there and couldn’t wait to get out and get some fresh air and try to regroup.
Hair Color/​Cut:
I know of people who rave over a stylist or two at La Mirage. I have been to the stylists and I don’t get it. One guilted me into a hairstyle that I really didn’t want because everyone pretty much has the same thing. I just want to be me. I want a good cut, good color and to be me. My horror story is I went their to have my roots touched up before leaving for vacation the next morning. The person was way to preoccupied talking about personal things and running around everywhere and colored my roots RED! My hair was medium to light brown. My roots were now flame RED!
I knew she screwed up when she was washing it out because she said to me «would you like a glass of wine?». (She never asked me that the entire time I had been there)
I immediately said «Why, What’s Wrong?» She said nothing, she scrubbed and scrubbed and tried to get the color out not telling me something was wrong. When she went in the back to get something, me still lying back with my head in the sink I sat up and looked in the mirror and saw what she had done. When she came back I said we have a problem. She didn’t know what I was talking about! She tried to deny it. It was getting late and I said you have got to fix this I have an early flight in the morning she said how do I fix it? (she’s asking her client how to fix her mistake) Everyone else except one person who doesn’t color hair had already left for the evening. I was in a very uncomfortable situation and not happy. I said highlight it. She put a few highlights in and I left with my flaming red roots, brown hair and flew to California for 2 weeks. I wore a hat the entire trip. On my next visit to La Mirage (yes I wanted to share my experience) I spoke to the owner and she over saw my next styling. They apologized and that was it. I get my hair colored in Tampa now. I’m sure there are a lot of talented stylists there but you have to ask around and make sure you’re getting one of them. Because whatever they end up doing to you… it’s all at your own risk and at your own cost.

I received a spa package here for a birthday present. I had never been here before and was really excited after checking out their website. Their prices are fair and it looked really nice.
For the first part of my package i had a facial. The place is separated into the salon part and the spa area. They took me into the spa area which is incredibly beautiful and relaxing with a huge waterfall fountain, crystal chandelier, and comfy couches while you wait. The european facial was amazing. The woman did a great job and i was extremely happy with the results.
My dissatisfaction came when i got to the manicure/​pedicure part of my spa day. They took me into the pedicure room which was nothing special. I tiny room with fluorescent lighting and 2 massage chairs (the kind you find at the cheap nail places). It wasnt decorated AT ALL and not a very relaxing or ambient atmosphere. I was quite surprised at this since they obviously spent so much money and effort on making the spa area something really special. To make matters worse, the woman doing my toenails and the other woman doing nails in the room, complained the entire time of all of their health problems. My lady started with her sob story about how she doesnt make enough money to get fertility treatments. Then the two of them went on to talk about their back problems and how bending over all day doing toenails really does a number on them. No joke, they talked for about 40 minutes of my hour pedicure talking about their backpain.
Im not trying to be nitpicky, but I find it very unprofessional to talk about money to clients who then feel like they are obligated to give you a bigger tip out of guilt. It also makes it very hard to relax and enjoy your services when they are complaining of the pain it causes them bc you then feel guilty for having them do it. I would go back again for any of their facials, massages, or body spa services, but the salon and nail portion of this place isnt the kind of place i would want to spend my money.

Great place for a cut and updo’s. Lots of pple come here for coloring as well and as far as I’ve seen — they do a great job. I forgot the name of my stylist, but she was awesome (a good lookin’ blonde woman). Many pple come here for weddings, proms, or any other major event. A cut used to cost me $ 25 and they did a terrific job! Prices were really fair — but I thinkj they’ve up’d them since I last went.
