I just had the WORST experience here, ever! My sandwich, not so hard to make, was cold and the bread soggy. The service sucked, and when I asked to speak to the manager, they NEVER showed up. It was a horrible experience and I shall not be returning! Great job Lucky Dill, you just lost two customers!

OK if you like all the pomp… very overrated and over priced… was much better when they were in the old building.

The fresh bread on the table was so good! I ordered the half corned beer sandwich and half Greek salad for dinner. My sandwich had like a pound of meat on it! I was only able to eat the salad and a few bites of the sandwich before I was stuffed. The desserts looked phenomenal but after dinner I was way too full! Great service can’t wait to come back.

Love this place! Awesome bread and corned beef. Amazing Potato pancakes and matzoh ball soup and I usually dislike both. Black-and-white cookies are delicious and so was the coconut cream pie. You get a free apple streusel or cheesecake with the purchase of a meal and a drink. Both of which are also amazing. The rest of the desserts are OK.

A little piece of New York City in Florida! Breakfast menu has a variety of options from breakfast burritos, pancakes, eggs Benedict and waffles. I looked at the lunch menu and will have to come back for that! First off, their coffee is pretty good, standard diner coffee. They also give you a basket of coffee cake pieces and croissants to make sure you stop at the bakery on the way out. Our waitress seemed busy, but the place was almost empty! We had to ask her for more coffee and when it was time to pay, had to hunt her down to get change(that’s why I gave it 4 stars) I had the Abuela Breakfast Burrito with sausage and it came with a spicy salsa. It was tasty and huge, could only eat half of it. The home fires were amazing… be sure to get a side order of them. My mom got the blueberry pancakes and there was about 4 cakes and full of fresh blueberries. Looking forward to trying this place out for lunch!

Wife stopped in to pick up a bowl of Matzoh Ball soup and a little white fish salad and bagels. Soup was very good but small portion for $ 6.00. White fish salad was disgusting. Looked like it had been left out for quite awhile. Not worth risking my health and threw the crap out. If you like white fish, go to Whole Foods in Clearwater. They have both whole white fish and salad. Avoid this wretched place.

We have visited Lucky Dill three or four times and have been consistently unhappy so it’s officially on our do not return list. Pro: They give you a free slice of cheesecake or a free piece of apple streusel if you buy a beverage. They also give you a free basket of bread. Pro/Con: Sandwiches are giant, almost too giant to eat making them difficult to eat. Con: Meat has been consistently too fatty. Today the items we tried were the matzo ball soup, the«When Harry Met Sally» sandwich with fries(although we asked for chips), the«Brentwood Chicken» sub with chips, cheesecake, apple streusel, and banana cream pie. Our waitress was nice but the service was pretty slow. We are never in a rush but being there for almost an hour and a half after only ordering sandwiches is a bit much. The matzo ball soup was okay, it was luke warm but the flavor was pretty good. In the future if I want matzo ball soup I’ll stick to grabbing a bowl from Pickles Plus. The«When Harry Met Sally» sandwich is pastrami and brie on pumpernickel. It sounds great but it was super fatty pastrami and the brie must have been some kind of brie spread and it tasted like blue cheese. The fries were cold and needed a little salt. The«Brentwood Chicken» sandwich is roasted chicken breast, applewood smoked bacon, provolone cheese, with dijon mayo. Again, sounded good but it was not. I couldn’t even finish it. Also there was a plastic bread closer in my sandwich but I don’t even really care about that, I just picked it out. The banana cream pie was good but there was a very thick layer of whip cream on top that needed to be a bit sweeter, it was dense and lacking flavor. The free slice of cheesecake was pretty typical of restaurant cheesecake and the free slice of apple streusel was somewhat dry, we took the rest home and warmed it up and then it was much better.

First time ever! I had read the reviews and bought a Groupon so we went for lunch on a Thursday — it was quite busy. At first we were seated by a table too small and we asked to be seated outside(hostess didn’t ask at the door?) It was Thursday so free Matzo Ball soup with entrée — husband liked it. We split The Wonder of Wall Street — wise choice(see picture) half order of fries and substituted Big City Onion Stack for our sandwich side. Fries were good, LOVED the onions — We did substitute white bread and sadly it could not hold the beast of the sandwich.(it took me 2 more meals to finish my HALF of the sandwich). There must have been 2 –3 pounds of meat on the sandwich– no lie!!! My only observation was that the sandwich was supposed to come with Russian dressing(nothing was on the sandwich or on the side we had to ask our server) food 5 stars Our server was o.k. — nothing spectacular. so service 3 stars Overall average 4 stars — we’ll likely be returning. P.S — we did get free dessert(NY cheesecake or apple struedel-) not sure why but who turns down FREE dessert?

Two words: dirty dining. Now, there have been some excellent restaurants that have been featured on Dirty Dining. A lot of times their violations are minor, or the restaurant has used their violation to completely overhaul the way that they do things. Looking into Lucky Dills history, they have been featured multiple times on Dirty Dining for absolutely disgusting reason things like multiple build ups of meat on a meat grinder that was apparent for days, employees not washing hands, and surfaces testing positive for strains of highly harmful bacteria. Gross. For my health and well-being I will never eat there again.

Been there many times. Last 2 visits were not good. I love their grouper sliders and have had them many times… but was disappointed last week. What they served as «grouper» was not. It was a substitute fish and it was over cooked. Yesterday we went for breakfast and my husbands eggs Benedict was lousy… eggs were were supposed to be poached on an English muffin but they were raw and the muffin was undercooked. I wonder if they are having problems with the cooks in the kitchen? We would have reordered the eggs but it took 45 minutes to get our order, so we did not want to wait.

Lucky Dill brings that old world New York deli into the humid sweat box that is florida. The home personal touch is there in some ways but not in others. They always bring you bread, but the bread is mediocre and lacks depth of flavor, kind of like my relationships lack depth of substance. The half pastrami half corned beef was delightful, however the overly salty fries and the tasteless Cole slaw took more away from the dish than they gave. Jewish food is here is about portion, which he strange cause Jews are usually covetous, but here the clientele is majority senior Jewish so I guess they must give to get. The prices are anti Jewish with sandwiches running around $ 11 – 14 with one side. I even saw some snivels from some apparently Jewish patrons who scoured over the prices . The quality of the food is good, but somewhat bland. I will come back ‚ But I will not be happy to Lucky dill/Dull — after tasting the food IDK but the portions are big !

We live close to Lucky Dill but haven’t gone in a long time because it is always busy. and by busy I mean the parking lot is full and people are parking in the grass along US19! The reason they are always busy is because their food is pretty great. Lucky Dill has a huge dining area, a big bar area and outside seating too. We went to Lucky Dill because my mom and her husband wanted to go, they are snowbirds who went recently and loved it. We arrived after 2pm, which was a good time to go as we got parking! We also were seated right away and sat inside in a back room that could be used for private parties. It really is a good size for parties, plus they had a TV and a screen in the corner that you could pull down for other entertainment. We all got different sandwiches and they were all great, and huge! I ordered the Pick a Peppa Peppered Pastrami. My husband ordered the Big Bird, mom regular pastrami, and her husband the A King in NY. When you first arrive, they bring a basket of bread to the table, don’t fill up on the bread because the portions are huge. If you order a drink, you also get free dessert so keep that in mind. We all just ate half of our sandwiches, and my husband and I shared my dessert because it was a lot of food. We also took the rolls home because once they are on the table, they can’t go out to anyone else and why waste good bread? There is also a bakery(more like sweet shop) attached, so if you want to just pick up some wonderful desserts, or bring some home after dinner, you have a ton of selections. I would recommend checking out this popular Palm Harbor restaurant, just plan to either go at an off time, or know that you will probably have to wait to be seated.

I’ve always been a fan of Lucky Dill ever since I was a high school student at Palm Harbor High in the mid-late 90’s. I’ve been following them since they opened their small shack of a place on Alt 19 and Alderman Rd. and I was always so delighted at how much they cared about the quality of their food. Unfortunately, as a place gets bigger, the quality tends to sometimes go down. The location itself is cute, definitely has the feel of a typical New York Deli. When you walk in, you’ve got the New York bakery to your right and the restaurant to your left. We came in with a party of 8 on a Sunday night. It was very busy but the hostesses told us that the wait would be short since they already had a table for us. All they had to do was clear it off. Well, 20 minutes later, it still wasn’t ready because they were waiting for our server. I don’t know what that means but that really was not a good reason to keep us waiting in my opinion. We finally sat down, and there was a guy going around popping balloons all over the place. The balloons were from their 8 days St. Patty’s day celebration. It was bad business to have an employee popping balloons in front of the customers. The restaurant was loud enough. The balloon popping did not help w/our concentration, let alone to be able to discuss the menu with your party. Our server was not really too pleasant. Not only did we have to wait for her, but she had kind of a «I do not want to be here» attitude. I’m sorry you hate your job, but do not take it out on the people that are paying you to be nice to them. At least pretend. The food was brought out cold, overly salted, and unimpressive. It’s like the cooks hate what they’re doing and it really shows on the product. I’m so disappointed in what Lucky Dill has become. I may have to take a break and give them another try. Maybe if enough people complain, the owners will actually listen and try to turn things around. This is definitely a good example of being too big for your own good.

This meal was bad. I ordered soup and salad. How do you mess up soup and salad? Well, the soup came warm. It was really lumpy and just gross. I asked them to heat it up but it didn’t improve. No flavor. It really just looked like blended up mushy baby food. My salad came without dressing. My waitress easily and quickly got me dressing. Also the place was so loud. The music was blaring. I told the waitress the broccoli cheddar soup wasn’t editable but I was charged anyway. It would have been nice to have been given a discount. Especially considering I left hungry.

Absolutely fantastic!!! This is like the best incarnation of a New Yawk Deli I’ve seen here in Flahrida. And I look. Seriously. The meats are piled high and not dry, which tends to happen when you warm corned beef or pastrami up. The atmosphere is fun and immersive — it’s an experience. Our waitress was attentive and we were surprised to see they gave us a little dessert. Completely unexpected and totally appreciated. We were in the area on business and to visit a different area restaurant but after stopping in on recommendations we decided to stay more than a drink or two and have a late lunch. They offer some really good specials. Now if you’d only move to Orlando. Wondering if you’re related to Lucky Dill in St. Pete.

I have loved this place since we first moved to Tampa. Although I wish they build a location in Hillsborough County, they still get a 4-star review. Every time we go here we try different menu items as the menu is huge. Everything we have tried so far has been delicious. This past visit I tried the al panino panini and it was good. It was a grilled chicken breast with tomatoes spinach and provolone cheese on rosemary bread pressed and grilled. I like that there are different more interesting items on the kid’s menu. I ordered my son the Brooklyn kid meal and it came with brisket, a potato pancake, apple sauce, and sour cream. I am always trying to find new things for my kids to eat and he seemed to enjoy this meal. Everytime we come here everyone leaves satisfied and happy. The service was good and the food was better.

There’s nothing quite like the Lucky Dill. Endless items to choose from on their menu. Most recently i had the Tampa Bay Lightning Surf n Turf burger and it was amazing! ½ lb burger topped with grilled shrimp, onion rings, provolone cheese, lettuce, tomato and onions. Amazing burger! Highky recommend this and pretty much anything else on their menu!

I hate doing this because I usually love this place. It’s a Sunday night and we got there at 9pm. We were the only people in our area. Everything was cool until another group of people came in and the waitress sat them down… Right next to us, like less than a foot away. The entire room was empty but these people were on top of us. Typically, I would say something but they were so close that I didn’t want to ask to move and make the other customers think it had something to do with them. It was awkward to say the least. At that point, having a conversation was weird because I could almost hear our neighbors breathing . I’ve spent time in NYC restaurants and it’s common to invade personal space when space is limited in tiny NY delis… Newsflash: were in Florida, space isn’t an issue. The staff seemed more concerned with their closing routine then customer service. I’ve experienced this there before but it didnt matter because the food was great, the food wasn’t great tonight. The fries tasted like they had been sitting all night. I will not be returning to the Lucky Dill unless it’s another location.

As far as deli’s go, I think many people believe this one is A-OK. Unfortunately, I’m just not one of them. The salads and matzo ball soup are pretty tasty and affordable! I’d recommend them any time. The East Village salad for two was really good, with a wide variety of vegetables and feta cheese with no iceberg lettuce to be found. The issue for me is the fact that the mac and cheese sounds awesome on the menu! I’ll quote here: «The Mack Of Cheeses. A melt in your mouth cheesy 4 cheese concoction with cheddar, monterey jack, Romano and Parmesan, with a toasted crumb topping $ 7.99» But, then, when it comes to your table, it’s overcooked pasta swimming in cheese-colored sauce straight from a #10 can. Stay away from this dish and you’ll do fine.

This is the first time I’ve been here in a long time. The last time I was a freshmen and college, and I was the only person in here that was under the age of 50. And that’s what it’s known for in and around the Palm Harbor community, a place where all the retirees go. This time was different, it was mostly families and people around my age. I am sure that was because we went for lunch, and that is the usual lunch crowd. I got the meatball sub, and it was good, nothing special, the french fries seemed like the frozen one you get at Publix or some other supermarket. We got«free» cheesecake, I used«» because we got it because, I got ginger ale with my lunch. It was a nice surprise, but I wouldn’t force myself to get a soft drink for it. I would probably go again but, wouldn’t go out of my way. It’s one of those places in Palm Harbor that everyone has been to, and you need to at least try it once.
