I don’t know why everyone hates this place. I come here all the time with our 9⁄10 all star team all the time. They move the tables around for us and they’re very polite. They get all of our drinks and orders right even though there’s 7 of us and 2 parents each kid and that’s not even our whole team!!! They’re appetizers are the best and look at they’re all of fame menu! So we go still go once or twice a week

We used to frequent here on a weekly basis when our two daughters were still in elementary and middle school, but no longer go because the food is basic at best, expensive compared to Craft Street Kitchen and Salt Rock Tavern, and really needs a face lift. Since our girls always liked coming for the arcade games rather than the actual quality and taste of everything, we never complained and just tried to make the most of our dinners. To be honest, I truly think that portion size is nothing to brag about, plus oftentimes, the food is cold or warm if you happen to be lucky). Service can be spotty, and curbside pick-up is never simple because mistakes with the order are typical. When these mistakes for carry-out do occur, it is super frustrating because we then have to drive back again for the order to get corrected. The only reason that Varsity has stayed in business so long is simply because there is no real competition in the East Lake area. Also, childrens’ sports teams stop off here for a bite to eat after their games as a matter of it being convenient and familiar.

It’s standard bar food, nothing super spectacular, although my favorite part was the southwest egg rolls. They had $ 2 domestic bottles and a prime rib special. They were out of baked potatoes and my mother in law and husband got the last two prime ribs and were unable to order one for my husband’s grandmother who stayed home. I got the steak tips and boneless wing combo and it was a lot of food. I filled up on apps so I ended up taking a lot of it home. It’s a family friendly place with arcade games for kids and seems like it’s a good place to watch sports.

Horrible. They constantly leave stuff off our order. When i complained to the manager he became irate and said the owners would«cuss me out»” i told him i would chargeback(by phone) and he threatened to call the police. he then continued yelling at me and daring me to come back up there right now… classy. you have been warned. ps: i charged back

Our son was a basketball player at East Lake and this is where the teams go after practice and games. It is with good reason. We have been going to the Varsity Club for years now and I cannot say we have ever been disappointed. Now that our son is at FSU, we still go once a week. The specials are always good and the menu favorites are very dependable. It can get very busy sometimes but that is what a great sports bar is all about. Andrea is our favorite server with a big smile and she always keeps our drinks full. What more can you ask? We keep going back and pay particular attention to the specials. Some of the best meals we have had come from the specials board. What creativity they have yet keep the standards fresh.

This is a nice little sports bar that’s family friendly. They have a few TV’s around and a couple of big screen ones, but they could stand to update the TV’s to more modern ones. The burgers and winds are great. I also enjoyed the little roll that comes with salad more than I usually enjoy typical restaurant rolls. There is also a buzztime electronic trivia game they usually have on one of the TV’s, you just have to request a machine to play. There are a few claw machines and video games which is good for kids to keep them entertained and also bad for kids because they don’t want to get off them and/or if you dont want them to play the temptation is staring them in the face. Just sayin’.

If the waitress wasn’t nice I would’ve only left one star. The food is way below average in my opinion. My wife’s wings were cold and drenched in sauce. My burger was average. Fries were ok. The buffalo chicken dip was good, but the chips were just little, cheap, round tortillas. Not to mention it took forever to get our appetizer. Just basic cheap bar food that is delicious I’m sure after a few fireballs. I won’t be back. Update: All four of us that went got stomach aches had to use the bathroom badly at home after we left. No joke. A $ 100 gift card wouldn’t bring me back. Sorry.

I am serviced by attentive, caring, helpful and hard working neighborhood folks. I started with fried jalapeño ring appetizer but wanted it halved. No problem. They were perfect. Not slush like at other places. The chicken swiss and mushroom was a surprise. Totally fresh chicken not the frozen packages that every other place serves. It was cooked to perfection. Place is real. And coming here supports real people not a franchise found in every city. Kaitlin, my server, was great. Huge amount of good, fresh food, real people working very hard and happy to provide a nice place to chill Well, half time on my college alma mater’s game is over and I must sign off. Great place for family, friends, neighbors, and ‘just visitin”.

I live across the street from this place… this is a bedroom community and they have a captured audience. So yes… I’ve been coming here on and off since they opened; but I’ll just get to the point — the food here is very poor and I will never eat here again! I’ve tried many items and have given them many chances to redeem themselves… its just really bad and I’m over it. The last time I was here… we waited 20 minutes for a sandwich and the waitress kept walking past our table and got snarky when I asked about our order. When it did come… it was rancid. I keep hoping a steakhouse chain will buy them out! We can dream right…

Not a good night for the Varsity club. Burgers undercooked and cold. I feel like the quality is decreasing. Hope that they do not take advantage as being the main family dining at East Lake.

This place is everything you need and want if you’re into cheep food, full bar, and lots of televisions. The menu has the basic sports bar offerings. Wings, burgers, sandwiches, and others. There are salads in the menu, but don’t get excited. The salads are romaine lettuce, cucumbers, and tomatoes. They also nickel and dime their clients by up selling for dressings, carrots, and celery.

Consistent quality food, reasonable prices, and friendly staff make this spot for me. Daily food specials ranging from grilled wings to home made chicken salad. Casual, easy going atmosphere while clean and comfortable. A+

My first time here and I was very impressed with the place. After reading some of the reviews I became a little nervous but I must say my experience here was fabulous. The food came in a timely manner and our waitress was very sweet and attentive. The food was some of the best of it’s kind that I have experienced in awhile. The adult beverages where made to perfection. I will be returning to this establishment again.

Food was great! I highly recommend the BLT sandwich. Service is excellent especially during the week. They have a wide variety of burgers and chicken sandwiches. Pizza is very good.

Horrible service. Waitress would rather sit and bs with her friends while we’re waiting to be helped. Absolutely terrible experience. This is a loosely-run ship that desperately needs some type of leader within the restaurant. Will not be back ever.

Gianna, my 8 year old Granddaughter, wanted to go here. Atmosphere was typical sports bar… and so was the food! But, she was happy, and that’s what mattered. We started with the Buffalo Chicken Dip and the Boom Boom Shrimpl Obviously we went spicy and all of us enjoyed it. I asked for an Indian Burger NOT Blackened, as I was Jonesin’ for a bleu cheese burger. It was done right for me! The table also ordered the Chicken Quesadilla and a French Dip which were really very good.(Yeah, I had to taste everything!) All in all, it was just fine. The Baby Girl scored her Chicken Fingers and Tator Tots and was happy with her go-to meal.

When my husband suggested this place, I was excited to try it out. I don’t like sports but sports bars have some of the best food. But there’s something missing with the food here. The service here was very good and attentive. We ordered the nachos with blackened chicken. The chicken didn’t taste right. You know the taste of reheated chicken in the microwave? It tasted like that plus covered in blackened seasoning. I couldn’t eat the chicken. To their credit, the nachos are huge. You won’t go hungry. I had the bang bang shrimp wrap and my husband had the blackened prime rib sandwich. He enjoyed the sandwich which came with a huge singular slab of meat. When I think of prime rib, I think it would be sliced real thin on a bun. Not the case. The wrap was mostly lettuce and cheese with a few bits of shrimp. I wasn’t that impressed with it. I had high hopes for this place. The prices are competitive with other sports bars. But the food just isn’t hitting the mark. When I go back, I will order something different.
