How do you find an appropriate mid-​point when a business’ craftsmanship is high, but their customer service and attitude makes the DMV counter look like the day spa at the Ritz-​Carlton?
Maybe something like this. I left my home in Los Angeles at noon on a Friday before Valentine’s Day. According to the computer guidance, I should have had smooth sailing to Palm Springs in order to arrive at the destination well on time. A three hour trip morphed into a five hour trip, and this shop, which had been alerted to my intended trip, was closed.
When i called the after hours number to explain my plight, the sympathy I was met with came in the exact form of, «You had all day to get here, and you didn’t. Come back tomorrow.» No suggestion of any other possibility of resolution, and not the slightest bit of empathy over the circumstances.
There are many many jewelers in Palm Springs whose work is the equal of Bram’s. Their prices, while in the range, aren’t remarkable. And frankly, life is both too short, and too long, to patronize businesses like that on more than the «fool me once» occasion.
So let me have been the fool this once, and you save yourself the money, time, and agita. You’ll be glad you did.

I sold a piece to Bram’s back in Nov/​Dec 2013 and realized what a mistake it was… wished/​hoped it was still there… maybe a Christmas Miracle?

I happened across Bram’s while walking down the street and it was certainly a lucky choice. Looking for a watch battery replacement (which they don’t do), I got to looking around and talking with Connie and Larry. I had a medallion on a chain that I’d had for a while and liked (sort of) but there was something missing — not enough weight and visual interest or something. Enter Connie the jewelry designer, who helped me think about a simple fix: adding a gold border. Long story short, I picked up the redesigned piece this afternoon and couldn’t be happier with it. I’ve gone from wondering what to do with the piece to now really liking it a lot. Trust Bram’s to do a good job for you.

Bram’s is fantastic, we’ve been coming here for many years. Connie has made us beautiful custom jewelry, and designs beautiful items as well. She made our wedding rings many years ago, and we love them, and get a ton of complements. Good selection and great customer service!
