Just took a rescue puppy here for antibiotics, shots and microchip. Over $ 250. INSANE. They charged $ 77 for a microchip and $ 30 for an Ecollar. This vet visit was 4X what we paid to have him neutered at an excellent clinic in Riverside.
Raping locals, fine. Raping Dog rescues? Greedy, selfish, money mongers. Don’t support this place.

Excellent care, did not oversell ! I was in Palm Springs for coachella, my dog started vomiting nonstop, wouldn’t eat, and was acting tired. I found Palm Springs animal hospital on Unilocal,was very happy with the service. The doctor saw me quickly, she offered a few things, discouraged me from sending off the expensive workup. They have my dog fluids, anti nausea mess, and later that day she improved. They were not pushy, very responsive and helpful. Even called me next day to see how she was doing. Would definitely recommend dr anderson and this clinic !

We are snowbirds from Alaska traveling with our two dogs. The lab developed what Dr. Henein diagnosed as an upper respiratory infection. We were given an appointment the same day we called and Dr. Henein was very professional. He even called to check on Luka the next day.

We moved to Palm Springs 8 years ago and have been taking our dogs to Palm Springs Animal Hospital since. I had considered re-​establishing with another vet clinic when the ownership and staff changed over time, but the continuity of care continued to be excellent. All of the doctors communicate with each other and are familiar with our pets, even though Dr. Peter Eddy is the primary vet care provider. We have 6 dogs that thrive under Dr. Eddy’s care, especially the 2 elder pets. The vet assistants and techs are all very caring and promote a positive environment even during the stress of unscheduled emergencies.
I noticed some negative reviews regarding pricing and with 6 dogs, the prices are a big deal. However, because this is an emergency hospital, rather than a standard veterinary practice, the prices do run higher. The doctors are highly trained to treat animals in life-​threatening emergencies and the clinic is staffed and equipped to provide that service. So the prices are a trade-​off for us. More money for peace of mind and excellent care.

Let me start be saying, I use Unilocal all the time, but have never written a review! However, the superbly kind and professional care given to our sweet old dog, Lucky, by Dr Henein and his staff (John and Randy up front and all nurses/​techs in back) at Palm Springs Vet Hospital inspired me to finally write a review!
Lucky, our 12 year-​old Airedale x Golden Retriever, has been struggling w lameness and our regular vet in Culver City had given him rimadyl for a couple of weeks to see if it would help-​and it did, until it ran out a few days before we call PSAH. The next step was an X-​ray, but we weren’t going home for another week. Even though it was the day before a holiday and they were busy, they got us in the same day and offered to call our vet to get his records faxed to them.
When we got there, the waiting room was full but John, the man up front who had made our appt, made us feel very welcome. When we were called to the room and we all went back (2 adults plus Lucky and our 7 yr old pitty mix, Bella) to the exam room, no one even blinked! When Dr. Henein came in, he apologized for the wait and immediately greeted our dogs and made friends w them both (even gave a treat to Bella, after asking our permission, of course). Then he greeted us w such genuine care and concern that he made us feel like the only people/​animals at his hospital that day (far from the reality!) Once he had examined Lucky, he laid out our options and made it clear that he would do whatever we wanted-​as much or as little as we were ready to pursue. He acknowledged that we were out of town and that he respected the fact that we might want to wait until we got home to meet w our regular vet to do anything beyond an rx refill w Dr Henein. We decided on a middle road (X-​rays and medication).
They said X-​rays world take 60 – 90 mins so we left Lucky w them and came back home. In 35 mins, they called us to come back. Dr Henein met w us to review the X-​rays and explain what he saw. He made sure we understood, didn’t rush us and answered all of our questions. Then told us the radiologist would likely read the X-​ray the following day and that he would call us after the holiday if there was something additional to add.
The following am, Dr Henein called to check on Lucky. He told us that he didn’t have the radiology report yet, but was going to ca to find out when it would be ready. Around 130pm, Dr H called again and asked if we could stop by to review the additional findings from the radiologist. He apologized that he would be in jeans as it was his day off! Really? He was apologizing? We were so grateful for his time on his day off-​and we weren’t even regular clients! So we went by PSAH and, again, he explained what the radiologist thought was going on w Lucky’s shoulder (either aggressive bone cancer or arthritis). He told us that he would put his recommendations in his report and that he would send us home w a copy of his report and a copy of the X-​rays on CD to take to our vet at home. He said the most important thing to him was that Lucky was comfortable and happy. And he is. We will take this one day at a time.
Today, Randy from PSAH called to check on how Lucky was doing. Such great care!
This is the kind of kind, compassionate, empowering care that all pets and their humans deserve! (Frankly, I have amazing health care and doctors and the care Dr Henein and staff gave Lucky was better than I get!) If we lived here full time, Palm Springs Animal Hospital and Dr. H would be our regular vet for sure! And we will def come back if either of our dogs need care when we are in PS. So grateful to have found this place!

I wouldn’t take my fur babies anywhere else. This is by far the best veterinary hospital I have ever had the pleasure to do buisness with.

Amazing amazing staff who are courteous and tend to every detail! I truly am grateful for the care they demonstrated every step of the way doing business over there. I cannot emphasize enough just how much of an exceptional experience it was for us.

I’ve helped my sister take her dogs here a couple times and I’m compelled to write a review for them. The care that her chihuahuas received from Dr. Rafael is amazing! One got stung by killer bees and was on the brink of death. The other was one found on the street and was in such bad shape she wasn’t going to make it much longer and was suffering with all kinds of infections. The extend that they went to bring her dogs back to health was exceptional! The staff is so nice every time I’ve been there and my sister tells me all the things that they and the doctor do for her and the care they provide. I love those dogs. I encourage all of you that would do anything for your pets to take them there.

We are cheerless this holiday season due to the demise of our beloved pet. We brought our dog for a consult at Palm Springs Animal hospital in order to board our 2 dogs with the kennel. We had to see a substitute vet, Dr. Peter Eddy, as our regular vet was unavailable. Even though our older dog was 15 years old, Dr. Eddy administered a bordetella shot saying this was required by the kennel. This was after a discussion with the vet and his assistant who believed the kennel could be consulted first about waiving the shot for senior dogs. The kennel was never contacted at Dr. Eddy’s insistence.
In the days that followed, our dog stopped eating and drinking. He became incontinent and eventually could not stand on either his front or back legs. We had to rearrange our home to care for him and went through days and nights of anguish. After just a few days days, we brought our dog back to see our regular vet. He was practically lifeless. Our regular vet agreed to euthanize.
When we brought our second dog to the kennel, we found out from the kennel owner that they would in fact waive the bordetella shot for senior dogs. Had a call been placed to the kennel, we could have avoided the suffering and had our dog for a while longer. We asked to be contacted to discuss our concerns with our regular vet and received no response for weeks. We received a call recently from Dr. Eddy. To our surprise, he said that our dog was sick to begin with. This is inaccurate since our dog have been healthy and have not had to see a vet except for routine exams and shots. This compelled me to write this as no one should have to «trust» their beloved pets to incompetence and deceit.
Our dog was just a week away from his 15^th birthday when he passed. Thanksgiving and Christmas came and went. We did not think we would miss him this much. I only wish vets would practice with more expertise, care and perspective.

This animal hospital is the most organized and caring hospital I have ever been to. All the doctors including Doctor Henein. Doctor Rofail and Doctor Eddie are animal loving and extremely intelligent doctors. The level of care given at this hospital is better than that given at my local human community hospital!

Great place! I’ve taken my dogs there for years. The Doctor there really cares about the animals, the prices are fair and I feel very comfortable knowing that my pets are getting care from people who think of these animals as family members.

We are part-​time residence of the desert. One of our dogs, who is here with us recently developed a problem with worms. We called late in the day, and they were able to get us in right away with Cleo. Every one we dealt with was helpful and knowledgeable. In particular, I single out Randy at the front desk who was great to deal with.

DENTAL MONTH is a SCAM! Both my dogs had dentils. One ‘emergency’ dental and another scheduled dental during a dental month (which is like every couple months). They were both over $ 1000!!! The emergency dental had a higher price for the procedure but less anesthesia time. The scheduled dental has a discounted dental price but way more anesthesia time. Funny thing because when I asked how long it took I was given the exact same answer. Something isn’t adding up. I’ve also talked to other dog park goers and most agree this place is a complete rip off. Plus it’s very cramped and filthy.

The Staff is amazing, kind and thoughtful. Dr Rofail is one of the kindest and sensitive
vet I have known. Our beloved 15 year old cat BC starting going downhill last week. Dr Rofail gave us options of treatment and outcomes. We tried for a week to save him
but to no avail.
We put him to sleep yesterday. The Dr and staff waited for at closing time and made it
painless for all. BC and company thanks the Dr and all the staff for all their efforts.

We have taken both of your dogs here, and have received excellent care. We got a new puppy, and now a year later he needs to be neutered. I called for a quote and was told it would be $ 700. I have had many dogs in my life and have never paid over $ 150 to get any animal fixed. I was speechless to say the least.
A friend of mine does a lot of work for Animal Samaritans and she said to call them. They said it would be $ 113, plus $ 25 for the ID chip. Now, that’s a reasonable charge.
There is no reason for this clinic to charge what they do. Ridiculous!

I came to Palm Springs Animal Hospital after some disappointing visits to Carter Animal Hospital. I’m so happy I chose this vet out of all in the desert. The staff are super friendly and helpful. My dog means the world to me and I feel I can truly trust that she is in the best hands here. I couldn’t thank Dr. Rofael and John enough for taking such great care of my little Lola after needing surgery to remove a sarcoma. He is competent and kind, one of the most calming personalities. Anyone looking for a vet should try it here. Thank you Palm Springs Animal Hospital for continually watching out for my dog.

RAVE! We have always touted the kindness, professionalism and compassion of Palm Springs Animal Hospital, but our experience the last few days solidifies how much we love this place. We took in a rescue dog last week, who turned out to have a lot of medical issues, the most crucial being a perineal hernia. The surgery happened yesterday and was quite complicated, and his recovery took much longer than normal. Dr. Henein and the surgeon, Dr. Behrenfeld, have gone above and beyond our expectations in caring for our Buddy throughout. They kept us informed all along the way… checking in with us to update us at 5 pm, at 10 pm and again this morning at 8 am. They even allowed my husband to go in and talk to and pet Buddy last night at 10 pm. We love Palm Springs Animal Hospital.

I am very happy to have found Palm Springs Animal Hospital. I’ve been bringing my dog to them for the past year now and I couldn’t be happier with the love and attention she receives when we walk through the door. I never feel rushed when speaking with the doctor, even if I have a lot of questions. I would not hesitate to recommend this office to anyone who is picky like I am, and wants the best care possible for their ‘child’…

It is hard to put into words just how wonderful this place is! We have been bringing our 14 yr old Lab mix here for treatment of MCT’s. They finally took their toll and we brought «Frances» in. She let us know that her journey was coming to an end. All of the staff and Dr. Henein were so thoughtful and caring! We were all, including Frances, treated with respect and compassion.
We had been to other centers for animals and have never been treated so well and been so informed on everything that was going on.
By far this establishment deserves a multitude of kudos on how it treats it’s patrons!!!
