Loved staying here the fire pit outside is a great added touch and the beds are comfy. Love the roomy showers and tubs !

This is hard to write– as I want no one in LA to know about it because it feels like the best kept secret in Palm Springs! My husband and I went for a couple relaxing days after our wedding and this was the most fantastic choice. It’s quiet and beautiful there. The staff is so friendly and the rooms are awesome. We’ll definitely be back!

I know Unilocal reviews are judged on detail and insight, but I can only keep it simple on my review for Sparrows. Looking for a relaxing, rustic getaway? Romantic weekend? Girlfriends getaway? Solitude in the desert? Beautiful surroundings and a quiet and quaint yet in-​style atmosphere. The perfect introduction to Palm Springs.

This review is for the staff and the food. If I could give it 100 stars I would. That hotel is absolutely beautiful and the food is a just as pretty and absolutely delicious! The restaurant staff were accommodating & friendly. We will be back tomorrow for brunch and we can’t wait to try the dinner.

From the relaxing courtyard, compete with fruit trees and fountain, to the delicious family style dinner served by the owners themselves, this place is a must stay when in Palm Springs. All the amenities of a large corporate hotel are here. But, even better is the fact that it is NOT a large corporate hotel. We were treated like old friends by the staff (big kudos to Jackie!!). Our room looked like one you’d find in someone’s home rather than at. a hotel. The pool was relaxing, and the other guests were friendly and engaging.

This hotel is like «glamping» (glam camping). Each little cabin is so beautifully designed and so welcoming. From the open fire pits to the welcome home sangria everything is just so beautifully done.
The hotel staff was phenomenal and you couldn’t pass a single staff member without them saying hello and ensuring you were comfortable and satisfied.
I don’t normally use hotel toiletries, but the body wash, shampoo, conditioner and lotion that they have in your rooms smell and feel amazing. Leave your own body wash and lotion at home.
Another great detail in each room is the large tub and the lavender bath salts in your room.
When you check into Sparrow’s lodge be ready to throw your things in your room and spend your whole weekend or trip sitting around, relaxing, and getting to know the other guests staying here.

Stopped by to have a drink after seeing the hip ass pictures on Unilocal and was very happy we did. Mind you there’s some strong hotel game in Palm Springs and each with their own little ambiance, so it’s hard to know what to expect. Sparrows is much like the PBR sipping feel of the Ace plus the fun party atmosphere of the Saguaro. It’s very approachable and fun, plus they carry a wide array of beverages to satiate any wallet.
We got a bottle of Rose and sat in their picturesque little cabin area right by the pool. Staff is super friendly, check wasn’t too threatening, and all the little nooks and crannies are filled with random nick knacks to keep the eyes wandering.
We’re totally going to come back and rent a room here, very stoked on the scenery.

What an awesome place! My now Fiancé and I stayed last night; having just proposed before checking in Jason and Jake greeted us with congratulation and popped a bottle for us! We had a late breakfast and Jason had no problem giving us a late check!
The room was truly unique and just brilliantly constructed with great thought.
The grounds are beautiful and inviting as is the staff.
We are certainly looking forward to returning very soon!

My only complaints are: don’t allow you to BYO drinks to pool, had a poolside room and could hear the loud plumbing of the guy next door taking a shower at 6:30am, coffee wasn’t hot (but it was tasty!) and the bikes were not serviced very well.

First time here and definitely won’t be the last. The room is cozy and adorable, concrete and stone with an open shower and a «trough» bathtub which was fantastic. The rooms surround the pool and hot tub. Sparrows only has 18 rooms so it’s not crowded and thus very comfortable. No problem getting a pool chair (which is often a problem at Palm Springs spots)
In the middle of the property is the front desk/​bar which is super cool and they told me their kitchen is opening soon for pool side tapas style.
The best part is the service (shout out to Jake). It was my brothers bday and they made the six of us here feel so welcome and brought us champagne and deserts on the house. It’s such a relaxed vibe. They have a cool outdoor eating spot and we had food delivered.
It’s just exactly what I hope for in a boutique hotel in amenities, service and experience.

Fantastic hotel in Palm Springs. Amazing grounds, impeccable service, a lot of fun. The rooms are amazing, cozy and fun. Really relaxing and clean and well kept. The guys that run the place are on top of it, accommodating, considerate and awesome. We had an amazing time and I highly recommend.

My wife brought me here for my birthday, and it was an awesome opportunity to get away for a night. The condition of the room that we stayed in was wonderful: it was rustic, clean, and well air-​conditioned!
The property is 21 and older so it is nice and quiet. It was nice to come out and swim without hearing loud splashing or screaming. Pool is clean!
This place is romantic and an awesome place to relax!

Ever feel like you have a big juicy secret and you cannot hide it? Sparrows Lodge is an obscure gem where the main entrance has the sign «No one under 21 allowed.» Either this will provide you with a chuckle or you may exit with a huff. I prefer the former.
Upon check-​in at the lounge area, a complimentary glass of white sangria awaits you (fruit grown on site). Where shall you sit to enjoy this refreshing adult beverage? You have the garden, open fire pit, pool, lounge area, or your personal patio.
Guests (plenty of foreign visitors) are friendly yet low key. Even when the lodge was fully committed, it was serene.
If you feel sociable, you can chat amicably over the complimentary breakfast or over stars and s’mores. If you prefer solitude, read a book (no televisions or telephones). Definitely say hi to Jason, Jake and Jonathan (these guys understands impeccable service aka the A team).

The most unique, relaxing, and quietest hotel I’ve ever stayed at. It’s definitely a one of a kind little retreat you & whom ever stay at. The interior inside & outside design is gorgeous-​rustic barnyard. Very clean. The pool chairs are very comfy has well. We will be back on our next Palm Springs trip :)

My boyfriend and I made last minute plans to go to Coachella and stumbled upon this place when looking for a roof over our heads. As soon as we arrived, I fell in love with the place. It has a very intimate and relaxing feel to it.
Upon check in, we were quickly led to our room. As a note, there is complimentary sangria when you check in (this wasn’t offered to us, but I heard it being offered to people checking in the next day). The room is very rustic, and has a modern, camping, cabin feel to it. Our room also came with its own garden/​patio entrance adding privacy, which was a plus! I’m kind of crazy when it comes to cleanliness, but I had nothing to worry about here. We took a quick nap in the comfy bed and then were off to Coachella.
We came back pretty late, around 1 – 2 AMish and decided to walk around the property a little. It wasn’t too long before the person on the night shift came up to us. His approach was very off-​putting and made me feel as if we were trespassing. He asked if we were staying here to which we answered yes. There was kind of this awkward silence before he proceeded to tell us that the pool was closed (we weren’t even dressed to go into the pool). Hence the one less star. Aside from this small hiccup, everyone else was nice.
Provided is a simple, yet delicious breakfast of toast, hard-​boiled eggs, grapefruit, and yogurt in the morning. The food isn’t laid out like your breakfast at other hotels and is served upon your individual request.
I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing retreat (no screaming children here, yay!). It was a shame that my boyfriend and I didn’t have enough time to enjoy all that it had to offer, but we will be back!

We stayed at the Sparrows when it first opened (and the original owners have a following for their intimate hotels). We enjoyed our trip and visit with them. Then we returned again this year. It is an ideal place to stay when you are interested in exploring the south side of Palm Springs or the Palm Desert area. Highlights include the warm barn style and lodge ambiance. There is a nice wine and beer bar that serves in the evening and breakfast with your room in the morning. There is a pool, hot tub and a lovely fire pit to enjoy! You can also enjoy a game of horseshoes if you wish. My favorite part of the property is the horse trough bathtubs that come in most rooms! Splish, splash, Hee, haw! Oh, and they accept pets. I’ve never seen more dogs lounging around a pool!

I almost don’t want to write Sparrows a review, because I want to keep it the gem it remains to be. The lodge is the quintessential Palm Springs experience, with all of the old school glamor, no fuzz, and clean ecstatic.
There is no check-​in desk, no TVs, no iPod decks, no radios, not even a clock. But that is allll gravy in the Sparrow land, because it pushes you to enjoy the beautiful nature of your environment, the craftsman design, and all the little personal touches here and there.
I don’t believe the lodge has more than 20 rooms, which creates for a more intimate setting. This could potentially be a great location for a weekend getaway with a partner. The private patio with the warm Palm Spring breeze is GOLDEN. They do offer a simple, yet delicious breakfast of toast, hard boiled eggs, muffins, granola, coffee, tea, etc. Friendly staff, all two of them, are the cherry on top.
I shall be back Sparrows. I shall-​be-​back.
p. s. They haven’t acquired their liquor license, but apparently it’s on its way. For now they have beer and wine for your tipsy-​filled pleasure.

Sometimes you fall in love with photos of a hotel, you book, and then you show up… and you’ve been deceived by fancy illusions, creative lighting and crafty photo taking. Not here. I promise you that all of the beautiful pictures of this place are a true reflection of how breathtaking, calm, peaceful, colorful and amazing the Sparrows Hotel is.
We were here for a short one night, two days trip in Palm Springs and were so sorry we didn’t arrange for our trip to be longer so we could have enjoyed more of the grounds. We arrived, found parking easily, and walked through the grounds to the barn where check in was a breeze and we were given some glasses of champagne. We immediately toured the grounds and occupied every hammock, bench, chair available to us. We fell asleep under the orange trees for a bit and woke up in time for a quick swim and hot tub session before dinner.
There is someone in the barn 24 hours. When we returned from our party, I struck up a conversation with him and then had too much champagne. I woke up the next morning with a nasty hangover — which made the breakfast in the barn that much tastier. Eggs, toast, tea, cofee. Yes, please, and thank you.
We absolutely cannot wait to get back out to our little sanctuary in the desert.

when booking my visit to palm springs i was torn as to where stay as there are so many options and so many different types of hotels in the palm springs/​desert area.
i forget how i stumbled across sparrows. i was impressed to see so many good reviews on Unilocal and trip advisor (i couldn’t find a single bad one) and let’s just say, it did not disappoint. you can believe what has been said. it is a gorgeous hotel with so much character.
we had a pool-​side room which some people complained can be loud but we had no problems. it was very chill and relaxing. the bed was super comfortable and the rain showers had excellent water pressure (love the malin + goetz toiletries). the staff is nice and friendly. they make an excellent complimentary breakfast and we had fresh grapefruit from one of the trees in the garden during our stay. one evening i enjoyed s’mores by the fire too.
there are no TVs or phones. plenty of board games. they have bicycles for rent and i went on a ride one morning around the neighborhood.
i highly recommend the sparrows :) great price for what you get!

I wish Unilocal went beyond 5 stars. I won’t reiterate what others have said, but its all true.
This is rustic luxe camping; and more akin to visiting a friends house than staying in a hotel.
Its unheard of to visit a property that looks exactly like it does in the PR photos, but the Sparrows is that and more; it’s actually better in person.
A nice range of guests this weekend; some young, some older; everyone seemed to love it, especially myself and my two friends.
What I can’t stress nearly enough is the level of service and the level of detail; from Drew bringing out home made popsicles, then later outfitting us with blankets, marshmallows and sticks to roast over the fire pit, to the great selection if wines, shower heads, sheets, amazing french press coffee with Ashley in the morning, marmalades etc etc etc. it’s just perfect.
I have found my new home in P. S. and will be back soon.
