Look no further! Seriously these guys are the best handymen in the Coachella Valley! We have used them twice now and both times they did a perfect job! We feel so lucky to have found a company that we know we can count on to get the work done and at an exceptional price. We have utilized them for flooring as well as ceiling work. The guys are very hard working and care about it getting it done as quick as possible. We really couldn’t be happier with the experience!

Very rude — don’t even bother calling — it’s great when a business owner just answers ‘hello’ in an annoyed voice /​great way of doing business

Spoke to someone who answered and asked if they could work on Sunday. He said no problem. He said to text details and he would get back to me at 10 am Sunday. Never got a response. Very disappointing.

I had a leak in my bathroom sink in Palm Springs, on a Saturday. Sunny Boys responded to my call and showed up to fix the leak quickly. He told me which materials to pick up at Lowe’s and he waited for me to get back and he installed them. The leak wasn’t actually totally stopped – I’m not sure the reason, but he returned on Monday to finish it up. I then had him change some valves which he did quickly and everything is in great working order now. His prices seemed fair and was very friendly.

Gil and his guys were polite, quick, and my kids loved them. I liked having them at the house; they were just good people.

Ok. Before I get started, I want to clarify, I’ve seriously held off on writing this review for a long time now (since Sept 12, 2015 to be exact), because I truly wanted to give Gil at chance. Not to mention, I am not one to write reviews much in the first place. However, I would like to warn others of this business.
When Gil first came over, me and my husband though, «Wow, this guy is a godsend.» He was prompt and came when he said he would, moreover, he came early. That was very different from our previous handyman, who didn’t even bother to call to say he’s still running late an hour passed the schedule arrival time. In our interaction with Gil, we thought he was honest.
We were wrong. The day Gil came to fix our stuff (kitchen sink leak, tightening the sink heads, calibrating the ceiling fans so they don’t shake so much, and our guest shower that didn’t work), we paid him $ 260 for his services. Also, the guest shower wasn’t fixed, because it needed a replacement part which I gave Gil $ 100 in advance for. At the time, we were really satisfied with his services. He said he would return on Monday to help us fix the shower and recalibrate the fans after he did some research online.
Later on that day, I learned from our real estate agent, who had called to check in on us, that we had a one year warranty that came with our recently purchased house. I immediately called Gil and apologized for the inconvenience and let him know that though I won’t be using his services, I am extremely happy to recommend him to a few friends. I also told him he could just drop off the money and the parts he took from the shower on Monday.
Come Monday, Gil did not show. He responded to my text message saying he had an emergent job and could not make it, but will call me later that night to reschedule. I could understand. But, the call did not happen. The next day, I texted and called him again. No response. It was not until I mentioned that I had recommended him to a friend who needed a lot of repairs done, did he respond. He said he was under the weather and would call again to reschedule. By this time, I was already frustrated and upset by the experience. He was unprofessional.
After much stress and discussion with my husband, we had decided it wasn’t worth it to get the money back from him. He is dishonest and unprofessional and we’d rather not waste time or energy on someone like this. Not to mention, he is a hypocrite whom swears that he would not do dishonest things because it wasn’t «worth going to hell for».
For those who consider using Sunny Boy Home Repair, BEWARE! I warn you, think again. Til this day, we have neither gotten our $ 100 for parts he did not buy back, nor the parts he took with him. The sink heads are loose again, the leak in the kitchen sink was a two part problem he only solved one of, and the fans were a half-​a** job as he never returned.
Gil, if you’re reading this, keep the money and the parts. We don’t want anything to do with you again!

Gill and his crew are absolutely THE BEST!!! Go with this company and you will not be disappointed. They are reliable, honest, and highly knowledgeable in their craft.
As a military family trying to sell our rental property from across the country, we didn’t know who we could trust. We came into the area to meet with local contractors and found that they were just taking advantage of our lack of knowledge in home repairs. Not Gill… he gave us a great price and most importantly was honest and efficient from start to finish. I highly recommend this company to everyone both locally and remotely.

Gil and his crew did a great job! We had them remove an old built in closet. They got there early and they were able to remove everything without tearing up the walls. He also did a clean job on the electrical and offered to come back after the new closet is in to install lighting and outlets. Cleaned up and hauled away the old pieces.

I found Sunny Boy Home Repair through a local FaceBook group. Because Gill is friends with a few of my close friends, I decided to contact him. He answered his phone immediately, and we discussed my needed repair: my dishwasher that has ceased working, for no apparent reason. We set an appointment time for the next morning, and Gill arrived, early in fact. I was impressed with him thus far.
Gill began tackling the dishwasher right away, and found the issue right away. He said it needed to be cleaned with apple cider and baking soda, and asked for these items, which I did not have. As a Repairman, these are tools of his trade, and something that he should have on hand. I wound up going to the store to buy them, while Gill used the time to connect on his phone.
Upon my return, Gill was able to clean the dishwasher’s hoses, and get it running well again. This was a great positive. Afterwards, he kept reiterating his request that I post positive reviews both to Unilocal and to his FaceBook site page. I told him that I would certainly post a review. He went so far as to say that ‘…there are about four Gays that have posted negative reviews, but other than that all the reviews are great.’ I told him that there’s no need to identify any group of people, for any reason. I also said that my finding is that reviews are based on work provided, and that mine would be dependent on his work.
The next morning, he texted and reminded me to write a review. I hadn’t done so because I hadn’t used the dishwasher yet. He also called later in the day to inquire. I understand that he wants to know the status of his work, but *I will write the review once I’ve used the dishwasher, Sir!*
Needless to say once I used the DW, it had not been reinstalled properly. It was extremely difficult to shut. I texted Gill, and we arranged for a time for him to return. When he did, it was very evident he was not happy. He made an adjustment to the machine, and asked me to check it; it was not correct, which I let him know. He huffed and puffed, made another adjustment, and had me try the door again, which worked properly this time. Yay for a working dishwasher.
Gill reminded me to ‘post a review, since you haven’t yet.’ I told Gill, straight and forward, that I needed to be sure that the machine worked properly. Hence the wait in posting. I also said that with an attitude such as his he will certainly get his review.
I appreciate that Gill got my dishwasher working again, and with a warranty no less. What I don’t appreciate is his negative reference to ‘Gays’. That was uncalled for. I also believe that he should have his own baking soda and vinegar, so that a customer needn’t be put out going to the store for these items.

I have worked with Sunny boy multiple times and each time it was absolutely terrific! I am not sure what the other reviews are talking about when they say he is dishonest but I only have positive things to say about Gil. Just last week, there was a light fixture that needed to be replaced and Gil said that he would replace it free of charge! Sunny Boy Home Repair is added to our preferred list of vendors and I recommend any residence or business to use them.
If you are looking for a handyman who is quick to respond (phone call doesn’t go to voicemail) and is honest, Sunny Boy Home Repair is the Handyman to call! If you need a receipt, just ask Gil to provide BEFOREHAND and there should not be an issue.

We called Gil last minute and he was luckily able to come over and fit our sink. He was so handy that he was able to hang artwork and fix our toilet as well. I would definitely use him again. He did a great job and he was vey polite.

Very happy with Sunny Boy home repair. I had an emergency called and they were at my home in minutes. They were honest and reasonable and did great work. Will definitely use again.

I’m so thankful for Gil and his crew! I manage our Palm Springs property as a high-​end vacation rental, but we live in Orange County. I needed someone right away to bring power back to our home after our renters tripped the circuit breaker and couldn’t restore power. In addition we needed several lightbulbs changed that were broken inside the fixtures. I didn’t have a person I already knew that could respond quickly so I depended on Unilocal!I hired Gil based on the reviews, his professionalism over the phone as well as his quick response time.
2 days later we had another problem where the same guests pulled the chain cord out of our roller shades on the day of their check out. Unfortunately another set of guests were checking in the same day. Gil to the rescue once again! He was able to come the next morning and our guests were impressed with how quickly and cleanly they were able to service our home.
Batting 2 for 2, Gil is now my go to person for getting needs met at our home. This is such a comfort since we live 2 hours away from our property!

Gil and his crew came out to install a new over the range microwave. They arrived early and immediately got to work. The job was done in the time he quoted and that included clean-​up. I highly recommend him.

Sunny Boy did a great Job on our handyman issue. They were prompt and had the job done very quickly. They were polite and cleaned everything up. I would definitely use them again. Great to find this good service out in the desert area.

My «Handyman» attempted a repair on some landscape lights in front of our house, to no avail. In fact, he probably made them worse. The c/​b continued to trip.
I called Sunny Boy and they came out the next day. It was raining cats and dogs, but that did not stop them. They worked on the issue for hours in the pouring rain and got it fixed. They even dropped by the next morning to put on some finishing touches as promised and called a couple days later to follow up on the repair.
Excellent response time, great work (fixing outdoor electrical in the rain), courteous service… What more could you ask for? Hard to find an ethic like that in today’s world.
They’ll be my first call in the future when I need work done. Thanks guys!!!

Called this morning, Sunny Boy was at my home by noon, and immediately fixed my electrical problem! ¹⁰⁄₁₀ would hire again.

This man is a crook. I did not read the other one star/​bad reviews, and I should have. Gill did the same thing he’s done to many others… He did incomplete work, asked me for a check for $ 500 for materials, and then never responded to my calls to finish job. He essentially stole my $ 500 (which was in addition to the labor I had already paid him for). When i tried to call him, he wouldn’t answer my calls, but if i used a different phone, he would answer on first ring… then, once i «caught him», he would just give excuse after excuse. My car is broken, materials are on back-​order, etc etc etc.
I’m going to go ahead and file a small claims lawsuit at this point. I should have never hired somebody with such bad reviews. DO NOT HIRE THIS MAN.

Last weekend we hired Gill and Davis to complete a list of varied projects in our new Palm Springs home. They arrived promptly, and expertly completed the jobs in a highly proficient and expeditious manner. Both were professional, courteous, and very pleasant. We are glad to have found them, plan to use them again, and will not hesitate to recommend them to our friends.

I was looking for an electrician on a Saturday afternoon to complete a minor job that I wanted completed before Monday morning — Talk about a challenge. I called Sunny Boy Home Repair and they promptly returned my call to schedule the repair for Sunday morning — talk about service!
Gil and his son arrived promptly as promised on a Sunday morning and completed the work in no time — my problem was solved :)
