Lovely atmosphere and good service. The food is very disappointing. I had the unaccompanied $ 9.00 chicken breast which was just okay. I ordered the $ 4.50 fingerling potatoes which were only half edible due to uneven cut sizes. The smaller pieces were very hard and could not be eaten. The rolls were just okay. Not good enough for this«fine dining» restaurant. My companion got the pork steak which was very tough. Both deserts were good excepting the sweetened bacon which missed the mark. All in all, a big disappointment. Perhaps good recipes, but poorly executed preparation left us with poor quality food. We won’t be back.

I have a number of wonderful meals at Heirloom. Their décor is a beautiful period farm house and you feel like you are sitting down to a family dinner(albeit with a world class chef in the kitchen). This place is best with a party of 3 or more because then you can sample more of their dishes :) they have small, medium, and large plates that you can mix and match. The food is both flavorful and interesting(the salmon we had last week was to die for). I highly recommend Heirloom for a fun night out.

A fabulous farm-to-table restaurant nestled in farm country. A small but interesting and varied menu that has something for everyone including light eaters and vegetarians. The wine and beer list was also small but with excellent choices. The service was attentive and efficient and the ambiance was cozy and befitting a country restaurant.

We were excited to try this restaurant but were greatly disappointed. The chicken was tough but the sauce saved it. The veggies were absolutely terrible. My husband had pork that was not memorable. The salad. a separate purchase was what saved the meal. At least something positive. This is no Savory Grille, nor Landis Store as the prices for the meal would suggest. If they do not improve their food, I assume they will be gone before long. We love dining out and are always looking for new places with wonderful food and this was a disaster! Outside dining was pleasurable but nature was responsible… sorry

I went there Friday night. They are still new and settling in, however, had a wonderful meal. Steak was prepared perfectly and fried eggplant was different and amazing served with barley and fresh wax beans. The order of fresh cheeses and meats was a delight and the wild boar was a pleasant treat. The home made ice cream over fresh apricots and funnel cake reminded me of a night at a summer festival. It’s a great old fashioned farm to table inn with a modern menu twist. Worth the trip!

Stopped in on a whim for apps and coctails. Best decision I have made in a while. Greeted by a friendly bartender and a engaging drink and food menu. Had house infused liquor drinks that were phenomenal. And house charcuterie plate witb in house made pickled fennel, onions, goat cheese as well as in house prepared pâté. Also had a goat cheese fondue with homemade sourdough bread chips. Can’t describe how good the food is to do it justice. You have to experience this yourself. Local sourced produce and meats, with nearly everything made in house, nothing in the area compares, hell nothing in downtown Philly even compares. I am hooked on this place now. Can’t wait for a full meal here.

My family and I visited this restaurant after reading about it in the paper. This was a great experience and I would definitely return. The waitress was very warm and friendly as well as informative. The lighting was perfect; I could actually see what I was eating. :) And all the ingredients were top quality and tasted and appeared very fresh. We were served their homemade rolls, which were slightly warm and soft. They were good, but could have had more flavor. We shared a couple of salads first. One was their garden salad, which had pistachio crusted goat cheese, fresh greens, pickled onion, pickled turnip slices, and bits of bacon with an onion vinaigrette. I appreciated the tasteful combination of flavors and how it was lightly dressed. The other salad included greens with a cured salmon on top with bacon bits, fried shallots, and a carrot ginger vinaigrette. This salad was also delicious, the salmon very fresh. The only criticism I would make about the salads is that the onion flavor was a bit too strong. I didn’t notice this too much when eating them, but after dinner and even a bit into the next day, I had a strong onion aftertaste in my mouth. I’m pretty sure it had to be from the salads, because the entrees didn’t have much onion. For entrees, we got two of the salmon with pickled carrots, rainbow chard, and mushrooms. It was presented with the chard and carrots in a broth with a piece of salmon on top and sautéed mushrooms on top of the salmon. The veggies were flavorful underneath the salmon, but the salmon itself was a little disappointing. It lacked flavor and was overcooked. However, the mushrooms on top were devine! Definitely my favorite part, soo flavorful! Others got the pork loin and trout, both which were very good. For dessert, we shared Apricot upside down cake. It was the perfect end to a lovely meal. Moist, light, and perfect sweetness! And as a surprise treat, the chef sent out 4 homemade truffles with a layer of goat cheese in the middle with our check. We were told this is done after every meal, even if you go for lunch or breakfast. This place uses mostly local ingredients(hence its farm to table title), but there are obvious things that aren’t local as well(guessing so they aren’t limited in ingredients for dishes and menus that will appeal to customers). They also switch up the menu pretty frequently we were told too. The chefs previously worked at Hotel Bethlehem. And there are pastry chefs as well! And they will tell you many times that everything is homemade!(which I think is an important point to emphasize :))

Heirloom was on my radar after seeing a write-up about it in the paper. I finally got to try it over Thanksgiving and have become a bit of a regular since. I’m primarily based in NYC, and Heirloom’s menu is on par with likeminded farm-to-table restaurants here in the city. You really sense the creative mind of the chef in every plate. The food pairings are surprising and delicious, and everything is fresh and carefully arranged. I’ve twice had the wild boar chop, which, contrary to what you might expect, is probably one of the most delicate cuts of meat I’ve ever had. Last time I was there I also had the butternut squash soup — the squash was smoked and added an entirely new layer to an otherwise common winter menu item. If you’re looking for a reason to try Heirloom, it should be to experience that ingenuity. I agree that the décor is a bit dated — I love historical structures and all of the original wood and stained glass details in the restaurant(the bar is amazing in of itself), but the wallpapered walls don’t seem to match the sophistication of the food. That said, I’d hate to see someone come in and«modernized» the décor. Instead, paint the walls white(but not the wood!) and cover them with interesting objects — old farm tools and black and white photographs. Décor aside, this place is much needed addition to the lehigh valley restaurant scene, and the quality of the food is reason enough to go. Moreover, the waitstaff are accommodating and super lovely!

Visited heirloom for brunch on a snowy Sunday morning in February. Overall the food was good, but did need some improvement. I had oysters for an appetizer with a blood orange Bellini for starters. Both were very good. My entrée was sub par, cornbread, baby kale and poached egg. The profiteroles for dessert with ice cream were good, but unfortunately weren’t light or airy, but we’re rather dense and hard, almost cookie-like. Was not impressed with the décor, it was rather dated with wood paneling from last century. I would suggest upgrading the salt and pepper shakers, mason jars just didn’t do it for me, sorry. Also, had there been fresh flowers on my table, it would have brightened my mood on this dreary winter day immensely. The front of the house needs to catch up with the back of the house. Cute little bar area though in a beautiful historic home.
