Murray’s Transmissions

Had my 07 civic si’s transmissions casing and clutch replaced here cost 1500 bucks I didn’t ask any questions just payed to have the work done. Started driving the car clutch sticks and grinds when turning in 2^nd gear sometimes. Things it did not do before. Also now the knob moves when letting off gas which it also did not do before. Brought the car back for him to look at he didn’t have time so i left the car with him got a rude call later that day to basically say that he doesn’t know what could be causing those problems but that he refuses to fix what ever was going on. He didn’t even try to find out what it could be or name a price on what it would be to repair just let me know he took no ownership of the damage and to come get my car. I would think as a shop like this you would want return customers especially ones that pay your price no questions asked. This shop will not be getting business from me nor anyone I know that i can steer away from this place.

This is the best transmission repair in the AV. I felt comfortable from the very start. It’s a mechanic that you can trust. He rebuilt the trans for my 07 Denali and it’s driving better than ever. I would definitely recommend and will be taking my wife’s Saturn for service next week

I wish I could give these guys 6 stars, they saved my vacation!
I was on the first day of a road trip when my truck started making weird noises and vibrating a lot. As I was coming through Palmdale the check engine light came on and the vibrations got worse. I managed to drive to two different mechanics who both told me they were too busy to even take a look, but that it sounded serious and that it was likely my transmission or driveshaft, «come back tomorrow and maybe we’ll have time for it» they said! Argh!
Fortunately one of them recommended Murray’s, said he was the best in town when it comes to transmissions. Called Murray’s and they said that they could take a look at it. I managed to drive my truck over without any hope of leaving this town that night – my girlfriend was already on Unilocal looking for hotels. We pulled in to a busy auto shop and what do you know, Murray himself came out to take a look at the truck. He hopped in, drove it down the street for 2 minutes, pulled back into the lot, popped the hood and within 20 seconds determined what the problem was.
We were back on the road 30 minutes later happy as can be and continued on our 2000 mile trip.
Friendly and extremely competent. I only wish his shop was in Oakland where I live, I’d never go anywhere else.

FYI on the pricing here (I did not bring my car in): I asked for how much a transmission fluid replacement would be and they said $ 175. That’s more than the dealer! And they didn’t even have the specific ATF M-​V my car takes. So just based on what they offered for the price I would say be a good haggler or blow this place off.
