Ted Y.T. Fang, DDS, APC

I’ve been Dr. Fang’s patient for the last 8 years. I am moving so I will sadly have to find a new dentist and I’m certain it will be difficult to find a practice that is run as well as Dr. Fang’s. Here is what you need to know —
1. Dr. Fang’s office is run on schedule. You will never have to wait for your cleaning or dr appointment longer than 10 minutes. Most of the time you only wait about 5 minutes. This is no coincidence. The office staff are conscientious about the schedule. Yet I have never felt rushed out. Amazing.
2. My schedule is stupid crazy and I’ve had to cancel appointments many many times. Yet somehow, even though they are booked 5 months out, Tamara and the staff work me in on a wait list for new appointments around my crazy travel schedule. This office is top notch.
3. I’ve seen two of the dental hygienists at the office and they are both excellent.
4. I’ve had less cavities in the last 8 years than in any similar period of my life (even though I’m not the best about brushing 2x/​day or flossing.) I credit Dr. Fang’s dental hygienists and Dr’s meticulous approach to his dental practice.
5. When you do have to have work done on your teeth, Dr. Fang and his assistants are the BEST. For me, he has saved major dental structure (very important to your long term tooth viability) by performing more complex repairs that he can’t bill as much for. That is what you call integrity.
6. Technology. Dr. Fang has all the new tech that makes dental work precise and more viable for a longer life.
7. Everyone in the office is well spoken, excellent communicators. I always understand why things are happening and how much they will cost. I never get put on hold. I am never told the wrong thing.
It might take a bit to get in to the rotation at Dr. Fang’s but it is worth the wait. Happy to have been a customer and patient.

Few years now that my family sees Dr. Fang. I love the whole gang. The reception would ring us if we’re 10 minutes behind. They’re so caring :),
In the beauty contest and the modeling fields, our smile is our trademark. So, it’d take more than just a dentist to gain my trust to work my front teeth. Opposite to those who’d rush to drill the teeth asap before we change our mind… It took me years to finally discovered Dr. Fang office, and I am very happy with the outcome. It’s not in my habit to write reviews. But I felt that Dr. Fang deserved it. It’s the least for my way of saying thank you for his great skill. He took all the time to study my teeth structure and what’s best suitable option next to my natural ones, as well, took into consideration about what I wanted as for material and look. With his crowns making machine in his office, I didn’t have to live with the temporary ones for weeks before the real ones come in… as for the usual way. I mostly enjoyed the crowns design on his high tech machine, he listened carefully and given in most possible without compromising the crowns safety and ethics.
He simply takes pride in his work! Way to go Dr. Fang! I can’t insert thumbs icons in here like in texting, but two thumbs up… more up if I have more thumbs: p

Dr. Fang has been our family dentist for years and he’s the best! From root canals to cleanings to TMJ disorder treatment, Dr. Fang and the staff are always wonderful. His office is the best option for dentistry in the AV.

Love the staff in his office but Dr. Fang is more interested in the dollar. Got a 2^nd opinion on the work Dr. Fang said I needed, did not need any of the procedures he recommended. Saved money and unnecessary dental procedures on my teeth.
My friend had a similar experience with Dr. Fang, we both decided to go elsewhere.

Dr. Fang is a great dentist. He was able to take care of some much-​needed dental work before our insurance ran out for the year. His staff is also extremely kind. He strives to make the experience at the dentist very comfortable.

Having a great experience at the dentist sounds like an oxymoron, but I had to write this review of Dr. Fang and his staff. I was searching for a dentist that didn’t make me feel like I was being herded through like cattle, would treat me with respect and does
quality work. I know, that’s a very tall order. But Dr. Fang and his staff exceeded all of my expectations. In fact, they were so friendly, thorough and genuinely concerned about my oral health that I actually enjoyed my visit! Who can say THAT? From my first contact with Tamara, to my cleaning with Cindy, to my consult and exam with Dr. Fang, everyone worked as a wonderful team to make sure I was comfortable, well-​informed and that all of my expectations were met! Thank you Dr. Fang and all of your team. You guys have restored my faith in the whole dental profession in the AV!!!

Dr. Fang is a fantastic and caring dentist. I am a professional trumpet player that had to get a set of top dentures. Dr. Fang recommended implants to secure the fit and integrity of the denture. Through every step of the yearlong process Ted made sure the fit and feel was EXACTLY like my natural teeth. This was critical to maintain my music career. I have 4 implants, a palate less denture, and a smile that looks great. I can eat all types of food without any discomfort and I can play my horn for hours. If you need ANY dental work Please take the time to consult with Dr. Fang His staff is top notch. His office has all of the latest technology and Dr. Fang takes his time on everything he does. He gets it right every time

Every staff member is very patient and kind. I took my daughter to see Dr Fang for her first dental checkup and everyone was really great with her. Especially Annette!

Had a tooth ache… called at 8:30am was in the chair seeing Dr. Fang at 9:30am… it doesn’t get any better than that! They diagnosed the problem within minutes and the treatment plan is in the works. The staff, as usual was exemplary… Thank you everyone!

Dr. Fang and his staff are gentle, caring and so great at what they do! the hygienists there are absolutely amazing.

Our family has had its share of dentists that we were not very happy with and we are glad to have made the switch. We are really happy and their patient service is outstanding, he will even call you the evening of a small procedure to see how you are doing! I definitely would recommend him.

I’ve heard good comments over this dentist. But when I called today for a first time visit unfortunately they don’t do free consultations and they didn’t ever bother to help me at all with anything they could offer me. This definitely is not a good way to connect with customers if i cant even go in and see what options I have for myself and it seems very clear that helping people isn’t their first priority.

I went to Dr. Fang’s office in August for a simple teeth cleaning 1 week before my wedding.
Dr. Fang noticed 2 minor cavities, and recommended having them filled as it was a routine visit. I made an appointment to come back 5 days before my wedding to get the cavities filled.
**Keep in mind the Dr. was well aware that my wedding was only a week out before reading below*** I also did not have any pain before seeing this doctor.
Sitting in the chair Dr Fang began his work on one side of my mouth. Upon getting to the other side he recommended that I would not need Novocain because it was such a small filling. I don’t know better, because I haven’t had much work on my teeth in the past, so I consent. Dr Fang starts drilling and I experience severe pain throughout the process. Dr. Fang offers to numb the tooth, but states he only has «a second more of drilling to do» He finishes drilling my left side without Novocain, which was bad experience 1.
Afterwards Dr Fang notices a small cavity on my bottom wisdom tooth. He again recommends no Novocain, and begins drilling on that tooth. The pain is intense and I stop him immediately. He agrees to numb the tooth.
After drilling at the cavity he realizes that the cavity in the wisdom tooth is all the way to the base, and the tooth needs either to be removed, or a root canal. **FIVE DAYS BEFORE MY WEDDING** Due to the fact that it was a wisdom tooth he initially recommended that the tooth be removed. He was not able to make that kind of extraction, and filled the tooth with a temporary cement and referred me to an oral surgeon (who had no availability for two weeks)
His DA informed me and subsequently informed the doctor that it is likely that I would experience pain due to flying because of the newly drilled hole (that was not causing any pain) in my tooth. The Dr. stated it wouldn’t be a problem.
The doctor then called me that same night and recommended that I come in for a root canal on Thursday (The day before my wedding). I informed him that I did not want to look like a chipmunk on my wedding day, and he stated that the probability of my tooth causing pain would increase significantly!
Well my wedding came and went and I left for my honeymoon the next morning. As soon as I began to fly, I began to experience EXCRUCIATING PAIN to my tooth, any kind of temperature change sent me curling up into a ball as well.
During my honeymoon I could not eat hot food, drink coffee, margarita’s, or any other non-​room temperature drink. I could also not eat hard food
When I got back from my honeymoon I was able to get the tooth extracted by a very qualified surgeon. (Who could not understand Dr. Fang’s recommendation to drill without numbing on my first visit)
Due to the fact that my tooth was NOT causing any pain, Dr. Fang should have known that complications can be expected with any type of drilling, and should have recommended the cavities be filled AFTER MY WEDDING DATE, which again, he was fully aware of.
Now if the experience with Dr. Fang was not bad enough, I get a call from his office informing me that my insurance did not cover the entire amount they charged. WHAT! I have VERY GOOD insurance, and I contacted them. It turns out Dr. Fang was not in my insurance network, however the office FAILED to mention that to me upon arrival, even though the dental office across the street was in my network. I was also told that I had paid them everything already ($ 180.00 out of pocket plus insurance)
Now they were aware of my concerns and my reluctance to pay the ADDITIONAL $ 75.00 they charged me ON TOP of what my insurance payed them due to my terrible experience with this «doctor.»
However his office has the nerve to send that bill to collections, which pushed me over the edge to share this experience with anyone considering this doctor. He and his office staff are friendly, however I seriously doubt his competency. Be careful when choosing this office as your dentist as there are many other qualified offices in the immediate vicinity.

After my dentist referred me to an endodontist to see if I needed a root canal I didn’t feel comfortable with the whole process and sought a second opinion. I came to Dr. Fang’s office to see if I needed a root canal. Dr. Fang was very patient and tested my tooth before recommending that I complete a root canal.
It was great that Dr. Fang was able to do the root canal procedure and the crown. My original dentist was going to refer me out to an endodontist so I would have to make multiple visits to different dentists/​specialists to get the root canal and crown.
Before the procedure, I was really nervous as I have never had a root canal before. Dr. Fang and his assistant Annette were both really wonderful. They took the time to explain the procedure both before and during, and I really appreciated the fact that they always asked me how I was doing during the whole procedure. Dr. Fang even called me that evening to check on me and my tooth!
No one wants to go to the dentist and/​or get a root canal but if you do, I would not hesitate to recommend Dr. Fang.

Prior to moving from Los Angeles to Northern California, I have been a long-​term patient of Dr. Fang for over a decade. I actually am still a visiting patient of Dr. Fang when I am required to reside in Los Angeles.
Besides six-​month dental check-​ups/​teeth cleanings, I have had several major issues with my teeth and gums to say the least and Dr. Fang has addressed each and every one of them, i.e., filling of deep cavities, root canal, crowns, and a dental implant. Dr. Fang performed an excellent job in repairing/​restoring my teeth in all of those circumstances and did so in a fairly painless fashion. I’m extremely impressed with his knowledge and expertise, and his novocaine injections are very painless as compared to past dentists I had visited. Dr. Fang and his staff are extremely professional yet welcoming. Based on my personal experience, I feel very comfortable visiting Dr. Fang.
If you’re looking for a dentist in Palmdale, I highly recommend giving Dr. Fang and his staff serious consideration.

I decided to go see Dr. Fang after reading all of the positive reviews on Unilocal.I can now confirm that all of the great things that have been said about Dr. Fang and his staff are true. First of all, the staff is very friendly. From the moment you walk in you feel welcome. You’ll see that Dr. Fang and his staff make every effort to provide their patients superior customer service.
I am so satisfied with Dr. Fang that I’ve already sent my teenage daughter (who is also writing a review) to see him and I will be referring the rest of my family soon. Trust me on this one people, if you are looking for high quality dental care, this is the place to go.

I am a new patient of Dr. Fang and I could not be happier :). Dr. Fang and his staff are absolutely amazing! On my first visit to Dr. Fang’s office I was surprised to see that all of Dr. Fang’s patients had a close relationship with Dr. Fang and his staff. The staff and patients greeted each other by name and Dr. Fang personally came out and greeted all of them (wow).
At the time of my visit with Dr. Fang’s office, I did not have an appointment. I was having tooth sensitivity that my previous Dentist could not address at the time. Dr. Fang’s staff were very concerned about the pain I was experiencing and had me seen right away even though it was almost close to closing time. When it was time to be called to the back I was greeted by his dental assistant who was very pleasant and efficient. After having some x-​rays done by the dental assistant I was greeted by Dr. Fang.
Dr. Fang started the visit by going over some dental history with me before beginning a dental exam. I explained to Dr. Fang the pain I was experiencing and he than preformed some tests to locate the exact location of the tooth sensitivity. Dr. Fang not only explained to me the cause of the tooth sensitivity but showed me with a mirror what the cause of the tooth sensitivity was. Dr. Fang prescribed me a paste to use every day and instructed that I come in for a follow up in 2 weeks to see if the paste resolved the tooth sensitivity. I really appreciate the fact that Dr. Fang is conservative with treatment so no unnecessary work is done.
Overall, my experience with Dr. Fang and his staff was great and they left a great first impression :). Dr. Fang and his staff are absolutely worth considering when choosing a dentist!

Found Dr. Fang after seveal recommendations by co-​workers. When I went in with my tooth problem, he was very conservative in his appraoch (which I appreciate) — the tooth either needed a root canal or a crown. We’d try a temporary crown for a few weeks and made sure that would be a good long-​term solution to avoid the root canal.
All went well– the staff were incredibly friendly and Dr. Fang himself was professional and efficient. But the temporary crown kept falling off. It happened at least twice. Each time, Dr. Fang’s office was able to squeeze an appointment in for me to get it reattached. Finally, we just went to the permanent crown, and everything seems to be working out fine. And as Jon S. mentioned, I did get a follow up call to check on my satisfaction the evening after the procedure.
Having a crown fall off a sensitive tooth multiple times was not confidence inspiring, but once we got the final solution figured out, I’m really happy. And his customer service & professionalism can’t be beat!
