The Palmdale Hotel

This hotel is not very customer friendly. We kept on hearing this load unbearable sound all night. It was really hard to sleep. The sound kept going like every 20 min or so. I had mentioned this to the Manager upon check out. He said «I know it’s the elevator customers complain all the time». His behavior is like I don’t care. He never apologized or seem care. I would think he would be sympathetic about the situation. We will not be back.

What a dump. Place smells. Hallways have unpleasant odor. Rooms are small.

I would not even give it a star. After booking online 3 months before my trip I find out the hotel has been changed from the Palmdale hotel to the Ramada. I get there from Wisconsin and find out my reservation was canceled. After looking for 30 minutes for the hotel. Then even better news that they had a softball tournament and every hotel was booked it the next 3 towns. After searching for 30 minutes online came across the only room that was left open had a king bed, we had 5 people, we had to book it or drive 45 minutes to a hour to find a different hotel a few towns over. Come to find out it is where all the sex offenders and criminals lived in. The hotel was disgusting and I was scared to even go to sleep. So thank you Ramada for the worst vacation ever. I will never stay at any of your hotels anywhere because no manager was on site and nobody would take responsibility for your mistakes.

I booked 1 room for 2 nights thru hotwire. Thru hotwire the hotel had a 3 star rating and was $ 120.00 a night. We got there and checked in and as we parked I noticed an older motor home parked across a row of parking stalls, I should have known right then what we were in for. Gathering everything from our car my daughter and 2 young granddaughters head to enter the door closest to the elevator. Theres a woman sitting on the curb reading a newspaper and smoking. 3 very tall and buff men in their early 20’s blocking the entrance they move and allow us to enter. This lobby reaks of cigarette smoke even though this is a non smoking hotel. We go the 4^th floor, find our room and neither key works so I call the front desk and they send a very nice man to bring us new keys they dont work so he lets us in with his master key and leaves to get us new keys. The room is very clean and the beds are comfy, nice tv and a good view of my vehicle. I want to iron and hang some things up, no iron or board no hangers. I call and they will send these things up as well as a fridge which I was told we had in the room. long story short the lock is not working (understandable) the gentleman said we will be given a new room, and if I like he will move our things and we can pick up our new keys when we return, ok. As we are exit our room we pass a couple and the woman asks us if we have seen her kittens, ummm no we havent, she explains the maid let them out when she cleaned their room. We return after dinner and stop in the main lobby to receive our keys and there are 2 sheriff cars parked in front. I go into the lobby and notice 4 sheriff officers speaking to someone in a hallway with the glass door shut. I ask if we are safe and the very nice clerk assures we are they are just having some people who do not belong there removed. I go to the room and everything is there its spotless and beds are comfy! No toilet paper or bar soap but oh well we can get that. We take the girls swimming and have the pool to ourselves. The pool area is very clean and comfortable and the water doesn’t have that overkill of chlorine smell. We go back to our room and again cross paths with the couple who lost their kittens and no they hadnt found them yet. That night as we were watching tv and getting the girls to bed our room filled up with the stench of pot, oh my gosh someone was smoking in the hallway!!! I used a towel to seal the bottom of our door. We were gone for most of the next day and evening and had my nephew escort us to our room that evening.
Trust me when I say you can do better!!!

Now the Ramada Inn. We just made a quick stop, heading to So Cal for an emergency. It was nice to be greeted at the desk, at 3 am, by some as professional as Leonard Lopez. Once the renovations are complete, this should be a nice place to stay.

Do not believe the info and photos on the website. Let’s just say PHOTOSHOP! This place is old and dirty. Cheesy drop ceilings, nasty hallway carpet and lighting. Rooms are a sad attempt at upscale but resemble a motel 6. Everything is stained or broken. Unsecured entrance doors to the hallways and it takes all. your force to close the room door. Chain Locks are on backwards so they do not work. Bugs in the bathroom. Filthy coffee maker that I refused to use. A small refrigerator that does not even cool anything. Homeless wandering around in the parking lot. I did not feel safe staying at this hotel. I would highly recommend you steer clear of this place. Unless you want to film a reality show or crime drama…

Im giving 2stars only because I had a roof over my head. I got this room only because TRIVAGO showed it as a 4 ½ star hotel. $ 89 a night and the only good thing about this hotel was the courtesy of it’s employees. The first room (424) we entered, had a broken closet door. The lack of furniture was apparent. I requested a replacement room which I was given with no problem. The room next door (426), was the same with the exception of the broken door. We decided it was only one night and the bed was clean. The room was easily well worn. When we were finished with our day, we picked up some Japanese take-​out and a bottle of Saki. There was no table. We had one ‘desk’ chair to sit on to have our meal, there were no glasses to use. The television was like a spot on the wall. In the morning, we made our coffee and yes we did have two paper cups. But we were only supplied with two single
creamers and two packets of sugars. We went down for the «complementary FREE breakfast» which had ended at 9a.m. Later on that day, we found out from my cousin that he was staying at the same place (we ran into he and his wife at IHOP) he said they went to the «complementary FREE breakfast» at 8:30 a.m. and the only things left to consume were a couple of biscuits and some jelly. I am of course never going there again. And I will also never use TRIVAGO again.

Definitely going down hill. So I’ve been staying at this hotel for the past 4 years. I’m going to say 4 years ago this was a 4 star place. Free drinks, polite staff, clean rooms. When you have to stay up here, you might as well save some money. However, as the years go by this place drops a little. The management seem like they are struggling a little bit to make money so they’ve been making cuts and changes. The result: they lost me as a loyal guest. I’m hopping over to the holiday inn across the street. Here’s why:
Yes they have plenty of parking. Most nights are quiet. Showers work and have hot water.
Recent changes: they closed the bar and restaurant! That was part of the convenience! Breakfast if no longer hot cooked plates, but continental breakfast with box carton eggs that taste funky. And for how often I have stayed there, I’ve run into A LOT of problems. Granted, when you live out of a hotel long enough, you get to know it’s dirty secrets and you just learn to bear with it. However, their dirty laundry (literally) was just one too much.
First fiasco: my room smelled like cigarettes. It’s a non-​smoking hotel. I complain to the front desk and they switch my room. My second room doesn’t smell as much and it’s 11PM so I just take it and go to sleep. I dream of burning. I wake up with a dry throat and tasting like smoke. I tend to sleep with my mouth open. I call the front desk so they switch my floor. It’s better. They apologize and I understand they can’t control what the guests do. So I stay there on my next trip again.
2 weeks later, I stay and am about to take a shower, grab a towel, and realize there is a big brown stain. Lovely. I switch them out and all is fine. The next day, cockroach runs out of the bathroom. –_​-​. I call the front desk, and they tell me it’s ok, it’s the good kind of cockroach, not the bad kind. They aren’t dirty. I’m a biologists. Cockroaches are disgusting because of the bacteria they harbor. You can’t always help them from hanging out in bathrooms since they like damp areas, but don’t lie to me that they aren’t dirty and not even offer me a cheaper room rate. The last time I stayed there, there were more brown towels that I had to keep switching out through my weeklong stay and I just couldn’t do it anymore. So long Palmdale Hotel. Until you change managers and practices.

Don’t know how much the rooms are, but they are very clean. The beds are super soft and comfortable. It’s not a really fancy hotel but I give it 4 stars. When staying at a hotel, the thing I enjoy the most is the bed and these get a 5 star rating in my book. Thank you.

Here’s the good: plenty of parking, quiet, comfortable room, close to the freeway, nice staff.
The bad: Stained, aged carpet. A showerhead with minimal pressure and water still coming out of the tub faucet. Long hallway walk to the rooms. Sub-​par continental breakfast that seems like it was microwaved. Several of my lamps had no light bulbs, another was unplugged. Only worth the stay if you have to be in the area for work, which I did.

October 2014 checked in to this hotel. First room had hair in the bathroom sink that did not drain and three very visible stains on the bed sheets & broke down closet doors. Second room none of these issues. Wow time for health department inspection?

Staff was nice and the price was reasonable. They were painting the building the last night of my three night stay but didn’t really interrupt my stay.
Every time I left the hotel I had to get new key cards. They always deactivated, even after keeping them completely separate and away from anything magnetic.
Carpet was in need of replacement or a very deep cleaning. The bathtub needed to be replaced, it was very run down. The drain was also very slow.
The bed was comfortable and linens were okay. The hotel was quiet and I felt safe – the entry is to rooms is inside (not outside entry like motel 6).
Since the hotel is in need of much cosmetic repair, I rate it two stars.

I initially thought I was getting a good deal at $ 79/​night for what Orbitz ranks as a 4 star hotel. NOT EVEN CLOSE. The room wasn’t bad although I found the mattress a bit too soft, sunk in the middle. The bathroom seemed updated except for the shower tub which was gross. It had many stains and discolorations. Getting to and from our car involved going out the back entrance which is where the smokers would often hang out. The free internet is SUPER slow. The «fitness center» was 1 treadmill, 1 elliptical, and 1 bike.
The «full» breakfast was supposed to go until 9AM. I got there at 9:40 and there were no eggs left, no bagels, no toast, no pastries, no coffee. All that was there was 3 sausage links, 7 yogurt cups, and some corn flakes. There was also 5 hungry families waiting around for the «cook», who looked like a 15 yr/​old boy, to bring out more food. That never happened. When I asked the kid for more food, he said they ran out and that they’re closing in 10 minutes anyways. Needless to say, I wasn’t happy.
Orbtiz, PLEASE lower your ranking of this place to 2.5 stars so that you don’t fool anyone else.

What a dump… Priceline offers this place as a 3 star hotel but it is nowhere close to that. Bathrooms are terrible with peeling paint in the tubs, dust everywhere in room and best of all… in Palmdale where the daily high is 100 plus, they leave the shades open, air off and let you get greeted by a 90+ degree room that takes hours to cool. Front desk service sucks, she just kept handing me keys assuring me that «this» room was better. She didn’t know jack, just wanted me to leave. Never offered any explanation, just praying right now I don’t come back for a fourth time. After booking over 500 nights on Priceline, this hotel will make me finally go elsewhere. Goodbye Priceline, it was a good ride!

Stayed July 31-​August 4. I was very disappointed! Side door doesn’t lock, why have a card lock. Rm door doesn’t close unless pushed hard. Carpeting hasn’t been replaced in 30 yrs at least. Drapes also hadn’t been replaced. Light fixture shades broken. Mold around tub. Dark & outdated. Pool was the only thing really clean & nice. Motel 6 would rate higher!!! Palmdale Hotel seriously needs renovation!!! My star rating: 1

It was very outdated and the rooms were dirty with mystery stains all over the floor. It smelled like urine in the rooms and the hallway. At the front desk it says ‘100% non smoking’ but yet I saw people smoking in their rooms. When I was there (for only 1hour), some crack heads from the lobby kept roaming around the hotel vacantly staring at us. I wouldn’t recommend staying here

AAA discount made room about $ 63 a night. We left the room at 9:15 am to get FREE breakfast, which ended at 9:00 am. So we went up to room to get luggage. Did not check out. Found a local restaurant to eat. Returned to room to find it open, pillows and bed comforter on floor. We called to have sheets put back on so we could relax till noon check out time. Was not to happy about the pillows and comforter being thrown on dirty floor. We asked for new pillows and just tossed comforter back on floor.
Will not come back.

2. clean, however it has way too much chemicals used u was coughing the whole night.
3. bad ventilation, this is a older refurbished place that I guess needs new ventilation systems the hallways smell like cleaning chemicals hard to breath. I don’t think this place is ideal for people who are sensitive or have allergies
4. comes with hot breakfast in a cute tiny restaurant the attendant there is really nice. one bad thing I would say is the eggs have ham I’m it, and people should be able to get hat separate, I think they mixed it together to save money instead of having to serve larger pcs individually. I don’t like ham I just wanted plain eggs but had to resort to cereal. it’s all good though can’t complain about free .
5. the people in the front desk are ok. not the most cheerful but rude either.
6. good thing is we got a first floor unit that you can open the sliding glass door, for air but at night u don’t want to do that so that the only bad part.
7. our room didn’t have water bottles which would have been nice, I drank sink water cause we didn’t have bills for the drink machine.

Do not enter this hotel. It’s overrated– should be a 2 star in a 3^rd world county– maybe. They are strict about not letting you check in until 3 pm. The jacuzzi is broken, the rooms are in ill-​repair (see photos). Breakfast limited to 2 people. Paint in bathroom is chipping, furnishings are damaged, carpet is very dirty. No screens on the windows that are unlocked so beware if you have little ones. I have posted photos. PRICELINE needs to remove this hotel from their listings. They are not 3 star with regards to facility, furnishings, cleanliness or service.

The bathroom killed it for me… They need to make major repairs to the bathroom in my room and maybe all rooms at this hotel —
