Bob Pearson – Handyman

Bob was terrific. Right on time… Knowledgeable and courteous. He did the jobs quickly, correctly and cleanly. I highly recommend Bob.

Bob was a pleasure to work with, he’s nice and quick with responses. Reasonable price from my experience. Even though my instructions were kind of vague, he was very patient and did everything in a professional manner. I would recommend and use Bob’s services in the future.

I called Bob for help with a tiny problem in my Palo Alto office. He said he had time to look at it today, came over when he said he would, and was friendly and funny without being overbearing (a liability in this profession, I’ve found). He took a look at my problem, messed around with my broken accordion-​type door, got supplies from his truck, and in 10 minutes he fixed it. He’s as good as the reviews say! What a resource!

Bob helped me (he did 90% of the work) to install a new
heavy duty metal street side mailbox.
He was right on time and did a very professional job.
He also did a complete clean up when finished.
I highly recommend him.

Bob is one of the most effective handymen in the Bay Area… and I’ve called quite a few since we own many properties. I called Bob to fix a loose strike jamb door stop and weather strip that was preventing the door from dead bolting. Not only was he prompt and courteous, he finished the job quickly. I’m picky about the quality of work and noticed Bob managed to reattach a decorative piece that had come loose by carefully replacing the nails and not splintering the piece. He exceeded expectations and I wouldn’t hesitate to call on him again.

Bob helped me install my microwave above the stove and did a great job. Great problem solving and got my microwave up and working. Great job!!!

I had high expectations after reading all the great Unilocal reviews… and Bob exceeded them. He was able to squeeze me in on the same-​day and was on-​time, professional, and very friendly.
Great problem solver:
He was able to quickly deduce what was wrong with our shower, which we’d puzzled on for months. And then, when he opened it up and found a broken part, he was able to jerry-​rig it so that it worked without needing a new part (although he will nevertheless pick up a new part for us).
Very honest:
I accidentally gave him too much money, and he instantly pointed it out and gave me the money back.

A good solid handyman is… handy, and a rare breed. I’m the kind of person who has a «honey do» list of things that i don’t want to do, or plain and simply would do poorly. Bob fixed our broken toilet handle and whatever that contraption inside the tank is called, and hung up a few rows of hooks-​making use of things like studs, so the hooks stay in the wall. Novel concept. Not rocket science, but invaluable to me to have someone else to do it!

Needed help for my elderly aunt — crazy washing machine kept traveling across the floor, in spite of several different washer repair guys saying nothing was wrong. Bob called me back very quickly after I left a message. He showed up when he said he would, corralled the machine, figured out a clever way to stop the problem, and also saw a broken light bulb while there which he fixed on the spot (as in, shards of glass stuck in there, etc). Really nice guy, very competent, fair price. He is now our Go-​To guy for all my aunt’s needs! I live in another city so super important to have a capable, trust-​worthy person for this kind of stuff.

Bob installed a reverse osmosis water filtration system for me under the kitchen sink. The system was fairly complex to install. I sent Bob a link to the video that shows how the to install it. Bob watched the video, came over to my place on time and fully prepared with all the tools. He got the entire system installed in less an 1 hr, answered all my questions, and got the job done without any problems! Bob was very honest, never charged more than what we agreed upon and he was a great person to work with. I will be going to Bob for future projects and I am glad to have come across such an honest, hard working person. Thanks Bob!!!

I called Bob and asked if he could replace a 12 volt driveway light fixture. I gave Bob my address and marked the light fixture needing replacement. While I was at work, Bob came out and looked at the job and then called me. He suggested I could save some money if I purchase the fixture at Home Depot. He then quoted labor only to do the work. After I purchased the fixture, I called Bob and scheduled a day he could perform the work. I placed the new light fixture behind the bushes and told Bob where to find it. Once again, while I was at work, Bob came out to my home and replaced the light fixture and left his invoice in my mailbox. That evening I successfully tested the new light fixture and mailed his payment. What great service and I saved a couple of hours out of my work day! I have never met Bob but I can say his service and trust is the best and I would not hesitate to call him again.

I have had Bob come by 3 TIMES now. Tried MANY handymen and contractors in my 30 home-​owning years and Bob is the best. Knows how to fix anything and does so quickly, ie for a fair price. Won’t try if he can’t (or will tell you if you can get it done cheaper or better by someone else) and will advise if you don’t really need to worry about what it is you thought you needed to fix. Knows his stuff… and I mean ANYTHING, has all the tools and skills (or can tell you where to find them), is honest, practical and thus an outstanding value.

Bob is Great. I was out of town and alerted that my sprinkler system had come on, and wouldn’t turn off. I found Bob, called him and he handled the ‘emergency’ (if you will) quickly — and only charged $ 40. On top of that I mentioned some additional repairs I was planning and he referred me to great people for all of them. Efficient and courteous, you can’t go wrong.

Called Bob due to the fact he got good ratings and because a reviewer mentioned he fixed their interior doors. He was pleasant over the phone but when I asked Bob about doing work on my interior doors he said doesn’t do doors and that wasn’t his area of expertise.
So at the very least I would say Bob is inconsistent in what jobs he does. He did refer me to another person for doors but unfortunately that person also doesn’t do doors :(

I found Bob on Unilocal,and decided to work with him based off his past reviews. I was very happy with the work that he did. He hung large pictures, mirrors, and curtains. He was on time (early even!), very polite, and easy to work with. He even agreed to come in the evening, once I was home from work, which was very nice of him! I felt comfortable having him in my home and working on my home. I will definitely call him again if I need other things done around the house.

While I’ve not had a reason to call on him for his services, I have consulted with him. I do know this man, and I have nothing but the highest regard for his professionalism. What’s more, he’s a great guy with a good sense of humor.
P. S. to those who aren’t happy about paying for a full hour even if it took less than an hour: try to find a reputable handyman who doesn’t work the same way.

Another «thumbs up» for handyman Bob. I needed a leaking kitchen faucet replaced, ASAP! Bob was exactly on time, very friendly and did a great job. He brings all of his own tools — and even ran out to Home Depot to get a missing part. Reasonable rates too!
I will definitely be using Bob again.

I found Bob on Unilocal after I broke a glass bowl in our sink and our garbage disposal was attempting to chew the glass (it was pretty gross).
I called him and he said he’d be out in 15 minutes, slip me in between other calls. 20 minutes later, it was processing food again.
Bob is super friendly, seems to know what he’s doing. Only downside was the 15 minute visit still cost me the full hourly rate of $ 65.

We recently bought a new gas dryer, but discovered upon its Saturday delivery that we did not have the appropriate valve to connect that gas pipe to the dryer. This was a major bummer, as we now had a whole room full of dirty laundry and three little kids producing more almost hourly… so we naturally start imagining the unpleasant scenarios of 2 – 3 more weeks without a dryer.
Enter Bob Pearson, who was referred to me over the phone from the friendly people at Barron Park Plumbing Supply. I called Bob at 10am Saturday — and by 3pm that afternoon he had re-​arranged his schedule for the day, bought the part we needed, come over to install it and departed all for a very reasonable $ 60.
I’ll definitely be calling Bob again when we next need a handyman.
Oh, and yes, our kids now have clean (and dry) clothes again.
