I first found Nina when she was at another salon in Menlo Park. When she moved to set up in Palo Alto I was one of the first people through the door and I wouldn’t think of going to anyone else. She’s outstanding. I have had a facial, massage and other treatments but I’ve been going to her for waxing for the past 6 – 7 years and she is fantastic. Quick, as pain free as waxing can be, and thorough. She puts you completely at ease and seems to know when you’re good to chat and when you want to have a bit of quiet.
Booking on the schedulicity website is so easy and I can always find a slot when I need one. The spa is incredibly clean and tidy and it’s so easy to find parking even on a Saturday with a large lot close by and on street parking too.
She really cares about every aspect of her service and is an incredible professional. She’s absolutely terrific. Her prices are also very reasonable compared to other waxing I’ve had done in the Bay Area.

Got a massage via groupon deal. Hands down — best massage I ever had. I had gotten into a light accident the weekend prior and over stressed with work. My masseuse carefully listened to all the details and she worked her magic on me. I generally prefer deep tissue and I can take a lot of pressure. She listened to my vocal requests as well as my body’s reaction to her. She worked out a lot of the kinks in my shoulders. Def a great spot!

I’m very happy with my recent waxing experience with Nina. She’s very friendly and makes you feel at ease. She’s obviously very skilled and experienced in waxing. It’s in a great location with lots of free and easily-​accessible parking. The spa is very clean and well maintained. I highly recommend NMD spa and Nina for your waxing needs.

I had a massage by Sylvie. Great experience! The spa was very clean and professional; Sylvie was punctual and a great masseuse. I will definitely be back (already scheduled another session with her)! The price is also great.

I purchased a living social deal for a massage and facial and when I showed up for my appointment it was only for a massage — which was great! The owner contacted me about the mix up and offered to give me a facial, essentially for free at this point. It was a great experience and she was lovely. I would definitely go back!

I just had a massage with Sylvia (woohoo, Groupon!) and she is phenomenal. Sylvia is petite, but incredibly strong, and she had this magical ability to know exactly where my knots were. This was one of the best massages I have received in a long time. The only drawback for me about NMD Spa, personally, is that it is quite far from where I live and work, and trying to find parking around lunchtime on a weekday on California Ave was a nightmare. I’m glad I found this place through Groupon, as I never would have gone out of my way to try it otherwise. I wouldn’t hesitate to book another massage with Sylvia the next time I am aching and desperate for a great deep tissue knead-​out of my knots, though!

Nina is THE best! I have been seeing her for over four years, and I will not get a brazilian wax anywhere else when I’m in the country. (I used to live in San Diego and had visited several top ranked salons there, but Nina is better!) She is gentle and attentive yet quick with very consistent results. She is easy to talk to, and I am very comfortable in her presence. I always leave with great results. Highly recommended!

Went in for a Brazilian wax with Melina. She’s great! It wasn’t too painful either. The setting is very clean and peaceful and they use organic ingredients. I love how you get a little exfoliating towel after your first visit– a great touch.

Nina is just fabulous when it comes to brows. She is meticulous and really works with what you have to shape appropriately. She suggested I get a brow mascara type wand to fill in my brows to make them look fuller and it was the best suggestion! She has a calm energy about her and a lovely person all around.

Love, love, love NMD! Had many massages throughout my pregnancy! Sweet ladies and very accommodating. I recommend this place for anyone who likes massages, bust especially for prenatal massages!

Found Nina and her spa through a recommendation from a friend! Switched from La Belle to NMD and never looked back! Nina truly cares about all of her clients and recommends the best products without pressuring you to buy or to pick the most expensive ones. The atmosphere at NMD is relaxing, clean and comfortable. I recommend NMD to all of my friends and family and they love it too!

Nina is amazing! I went to NMD for a brow wax first and had a woman who’s name I don’t remember. I am not too picky and the job was just average. I didn’t get the fresh clean feeling after like i normally do, but I am also not one to say much, because I would rather leave them a little thicker than have them go too thin. I returned for a second appointment and this time with Nina. She shaped my eyebrows so beautifully, made me feel great and I have had countless compliments even after 3 weeks! I also have been to Nina for brazilian waxes, she is very quick and makes you as comfortable as possible in the painful/​uncomfortable process.
Highly recommend this place! Plus they always have the tastiest fruit infused water!

This place is AMAZING! I went in for a prenatal massage with Sylvia. She really knows what she is doing. I had the 60 min massage and walked away feeling like I could fly! I have been to other places that claim they do prenatal massage when clearly they have no idea. Sylvia made me feel incredibly comfortable and relaxed. The only negative for some might be that you lay on your side. If you’re pregnant and questioning if you should get a massage, the answer is YES go see Sylvia :)

I went to this spa earlier this year for my very first brazilian. Only heard good things about this place and Nina. It really was a pleasure! Nina is the sweetest person ever and really made you feel comfortable even though it felt a little awkward at first.

I came in today for a Brazilian wax and Melina is amazing! I found out she’s a former esthetician from the high-​end and well known, Four Seasons Hotel, but now has her own clients at NMD spa. Melina was very professional, knowledge, and makes you feel very comfortable (thus my appointment was so much better). She did an incredible job waxing and it is definitely the best waxing experience I’ve had.
In addition the spa is clean, fruit-​Infused water, tea, and fruit are offered in the reception area. The room was tranquil and also spotless. I will return – Thanks, Melina!

I’ve been to NMD twice now. The first time for a Brazilian wax, unfortunately I forgot the person who helped me… But she was incredible, nearly painless and very thorough; not to forget, she was so absolutely friendly, professional and kind.
The second visit was just today for a full body massage by Nina. Honestly, Nina is the BEST massage therapist I’ve ever had, hands down (no pun intended) and I get 1 – 2 massages a month with different therapist (haven’t found the best until today).
I went in with discomfort in my left scapula and lower back which has lasted for a little more than a week. I’ve tried everything from stretching to sauna to yoga and nothing helped. 10 minutes into my massage and I already felt relief. Nina begins gentle but goes harder, something I appreciate. Other therapist go hard from the beginning and your muscles aren’t ready for noise like that!
Nina was definitely very conscious of the locations that were bothering me and now I feel like I never even had discomfort.
Before I forget to mention, Nina too is incredible sweet and friendly. I feel that the entire staff is full of wonderfully amazing people who care about their clients.
I’ll definitely be saving up to buy a few packages from them. Absolutely worth it.

This place is really really great. I came here because I bought their Groupon for a waxing. I got my legs and a brazilian done by Melina. She was fabulous, sweet and professional. I don’t get brazillian waxes because they hurt so bad– but she made it an enjoyable experience! I highly recommend her and this place!

I recently had the pleasure of receiving a few treatments by Nina at her new spa location. The space is modern and sleek, with lovely decoration touches.
My treatments for the day included a custom facial and a full body massage. We started with the massage and Nina asked me about my preferred pressure (dig deep into my tissue!) before going to town on my stress knots in my back and neck. I generally do not view back massages as a pleasurable thing given that working out knots and kinks is not painless, but Nina managed to interweave gentle motions that felt purely relaxing. The rest of the body was attended with soothing yet firm massage strokes and I dozed off a few times.
Feeling relaxed and light, Nina then moved on to the facial. She inspected my skin and without any of my input needed she picked a series of products that calm down and treat skin prone to rosacea. She worked gently on my face and neck, massaging and polishing away all those lovely dead cells. The steamer she used felt warm but not too hot, again she tuned it perfectly from the get go to not agitate my cheek redness further.
While the steamer was doing its work on my pores, Nina provided a treatment for my hands and feet, which were then placed into warm booties and gloves — not sure exactly what they were since my eyes were closed, but they nicely warmed my extremities and caused a cocoon like feeling. Throughout the facial, Nina informed me of what products she was using and why she chose that specific one for me. She came across extremely knowledgable and the entire treatment process was enjoyable.
After I got dressed and left the treatment room, Nina greeted me with fruit infused water. I really enjoyed the small extra touches that are present in her spa. Most products (if not all) that she uses are available for sale in her spa and they’re apparently very much in demand as she was running low on a few of the favorites.
Needless to say, I am a huge fan after a lovely time at NMD Spa and will definitely be back soon for some more pampering!
