Palo Alto Weekly

well after reading the other reviews there are a little old. The paper does not come out twice a week anymore and they really should go back to that. It comes out once a week maybe to save money and paper. It’s a good paper but I think there up aganist the Daily Post. So something they should work on so people can pick it up more and use the market place in the back of the paper some good stuff back there.

Great weekly newspaper focused on Palo Alto that comes out midweek and then at the end of the week.

There’s nothing much to say. It is dedicated to local news and trends of its community, which is great. But that community is Palo Alto. How (not) exciting.

I dropped by the office of the Palo Alto Weekly to pick up a copy of the Almanac. I had placed a quarter page advertisement, and wanted to see how it came out in the published newspaper. I grabbed a copy from the rack just inside of the door and proceeded to make my exit.
My complaint is mostly with the receptionist who demanded that I immediately pay her fifty cents. That rubbed me the wrong way. $ 650 for an ad and now she wants fifty cents. Sure, charge it to my debit card. Ridiculous! I got a little heated and told her that I just wanted to see my ad. The whole experience made me feel like an unwanted customer, a nuisance, and a newspaper thief.
To the Embarcadero Publishing Company, why is your newspaper free on the streets, but if I want to pick one up from your offices, I get fined? Find a receptionist with less attitude!

I cannot believe that I am the first to review this paper that comes out twice weekly– in a weekly and weekend edition. It comes in the mail and it keeps me posted about local events. It is a sister publication to Menlo Park’s Almanac.
