Description

Specialties

The exotic décor is pure elegance and comfort, an ideal setting to enjoy dishes inspired by European, Chinese and Polynesian cuisines. Delicacies such as Bongo Bongo Soup or Beef Cho Cho are as popular as traditional favorites, served up with a Trader Vic twist – think Hawaiian pork chops or Prime Rib from a Chinese wood– fired oven! Appetizers, small plates and tropical drinks are served in the Mai Tai Lounge. The freshest ingredients combined with innovative, eclectic preparations make for a most memorable dining experience.

History

Established in 2001.

Enter Trader Vic’s, the upscale restaurant group that’s world-famous for exotic furnishings, delectable fusion cuisine, and the original Mai Tai.

Though their restaurant family spans the globe as far away as Bangkok, the Palo Alto locale has been lavished with amazing treasures from the personal collection of the franchise’s colorful originator, Victor Bergeron. The entry is guarded by a pair of 19th-century Japanese Temple lions, and the sumptuously appointed interior is like an elegant port of call: a large Javanese stone bull dates from 900 A.D.; carved shields and ancient tapestries deck the walls; a vibrant mural portrays a technicolor island paradise. The Polynesian-themed bar and outdoor terrace is a popular nightspot, and makes a cool setting for lively after-parties.
