Aurelio’s Pizza – Palos Heights

I really don’t like this Aurelios. I worked at the La Grange Aurelios and the pizza was freaking amazing. I live right down the street from this palos Aurelios however so we’ve tried it twice now and it was a totally waste of money both times. Ive tried three times to order the fried ravioli with the spicy cheese inside, the phone girl, idk she must be allergic to asking questions or reading boxes because every time I ask if the nacho cheese raviolis have jalapeño bits in them she doesn’t know! Ok well if you haven’t eaten the food then ASK! I shouldn’t have to ask the phone girl to go ask someone else. Twice then I’ve said fine just give me the nacho cheese ones, I’ll find out myself if they have jalapeño, twice then I’ve gotten the ones filled with ricotta! And the pizza is extremely mediocre, i dont know if they dont rest the dough the same way? The pizzas were all very inconsistently cooked as well. Oh and I got a very haphazardly thrown together salad the one time too. In the future I’ll just bite the bullet and drive the hour round trip to la grange! Hell I’d sooner visit the Naples, FL location!

I’ve known this guy forever so as ticked off as I am right now I can’t give him any less than four stars.
HOWEVER… While the pizza is definitely delicious, here are the not so savory parts of my visit today:
BUYER BEWARE
–it’s a Sunday so I foolishly assumed they were not serving slices. For that reason I decided instead of going down the street to Jets I would instead order a freshly prepared Lil’ Aurelio’s sausage pizza.
–I check the website for the pricing which certainly was part of the deciding factor and he claimed the pizza would be four dollars
–I was told on the phone it would be $ 6.81. I have course protested based on what I saw on the Internet — she explained that they had recently had a price increase. Increase in deed! Anincrease of over 50%?!
–wow they should have taken the responsibility to update their website I too was a buyer should’ve taken the responsibility to cancel the order –BUT now I REALLY why that’s a really O’s and I’m too much of a fool to turn my back on it
–there was virtually no topping on this pizza– which coincidently was probably no more food than a slice which appeared to be available AFTER ALL for three dollars! Less than half of what I paid for this disappointing portion of one of my favorite pizzas.
You guys need to pay attention as it’s very competitive out here right now with two relatively new pizzerias only about a mile away (Jets and Joes Italian Villa) and people really thinking twice about how they spend their money.
I know that I certainly will pay more attention moving forward.

This truly sucks! I really love these guys pizza, but they constantly screw up delivery orders. Place a order for delivery at 4:54 pm, large pizza and fries. The girl who took my order hung up on me after I placed the order, without giving me a price or delivery time. I think,“Okay, Friday night busy, no biggie.” The kids start asking me when will the pizza get here at 6:24. I call up, just to ask if I could use the %10 coupon on Unilocal I forgot to mention could still be used, since I forgot to mention it when I placed the order. She asked for my name, then my phone number when she couldn’t find my order. Then she put me on hold, and a gentleman got on the phone and asked about the coupon. I’m like, who cares about the coupon if you didn’t put my order in the system! I got two kids dying on a Friday night! Now I call fox’s, which I should have done in the first place. To the managers credit, Jim did call me back, said we were disconnected (I hung up), he’s not sure what happened, maybe the girl screwed up, wants to make it right. I had already called fox’s, no thanks Jim.

Definitely a usual «go to» for me & my family for years. Try it & you will not be disappointed!

Decent… but overall disappointing. Ordered a pizza from this location bc we have enjoyed the aurelios in lagrange. Won’t be ordering from them again and will make the trip to the LaGrange location.

UPDATE:
I received a notice from the manager of this location and he apologized. He went above and beyond to correct the situation. I have yet to order again, but will be getting pizza from here when the next occasion arises.
DO NOT BOTTHER! I ordered a pizza last month and it was delivered with the wrong toppongs. I ordered another pizza from here two weeks ago. It came 2 hours after I ordered it and it came raw. When I called the restaurant, the manager had no clue what to do. I told him I did not want to pay for the pizza and his response was to give a credit for a future pizza. I had thought that was fair enough. I ordered a pizza tonight and the person taking the order had no clue of this. The is unacceptable. I will NEVER order from this Aurilio’s again.

Unfortunatly i didnt get a chance to try this restaurant because of poor customer service. I was 8 miles away from the restaurant and they refused to deliver. 8 miles! COME ON! I am a long time fan of this company but cant believe they left me hanging for 8 miles.

3stars a combo of services & food
First, if your driving from the center of Chicago, it’s out of the way. Worth it? Well, we drove 35 min and I need a bathroom… No such luck! Nearest Bathrooms are 5min walk at Ace Hardware.
The place: They have 2 tables and 4 chairs, more than 5 people in the whole building and that is just chaotic. It’s perfect for carry out.
Food: if you have had Pizza Hut I think you won’t be able to tell the difference if any. Mid pizza was $ 14:00 bucks one topping.

This place has been here forever & we only live a couple of blocks away, so I’m a little embarrassed to say that we never tried their pizza.
We finally did, a few weeks ago. Delivery was fast & the pizza was surprisingly good. The crust was crispy and tasty. The sauce was slightly sweet & the sausage tasted fresh and non– greasy. Nice to have Aurelio’s in the neighborhood.

I have loved this pizza for years. Ever since I had it at the one in Homewood, I have been hooked. While it is true that this pizza is always good, for some reason it seems best in Mondays. I can’t explain it. Anyway, with so many options in the area… you can never go wrong with Aurelio’s…especially on Monday.

I was completely disappointed on cheese and sausage pizza purchased, paid over twenfy dollars for what I thought was a cheese pizza. can get more at other places. Joe and family would be embarrassed with the little amount of sausage.

Ordered 2 pizzas and 2 calabrese here last weekend for pick up. Everything was hot and delicious when we got it home. Would definitely order from here again when in town!

Maybe because I grew up in Bourbonnais and the pizza there is to die for… but this Aurelios is below average. We order the Spinach Calabreze all the time in Bourbonnais and it is full of spinach, cheese and garlic. The clabreze from here is nothing! We tried to order a few times and all were very disappointing.

I’m a fan of Aurelio’s pizza in general. I probably have already reviewed them in Frankfort and in Mokena. But since we recently ordered a pizza from here, I thought it was time to review the smaller location in Palos Heights.
We ordered breadsticks and a Large Thick crust pizza with giardiniera and mushrooms (our usual choice). First the breadsticks were not that good, and I’d definitely not recommend them or order them again in the future.
I have had many thin crust pizza’s from aurelio’s but this is the first time I ordered the thick crust. It was really, really thick, and I was surprised. I expected it to be a little more thick but wow!
Normally we splurge and have pizza and nearly kill off the whole thing in one night. This pizza got the best of us. We had a few slices and had to stop. It also tasted good the next morning.
I would probably still prefer the thin crust pizza from here, but I wouldn’t mind the thick crust every once in a while. Definitely worth trying in my opinion!!!

Since moving to the suburbs from Chicago, this has been our go-​to place for pizza. It is always delicious, never a disappointment. Delivery is fast and the delivery guys are always great.

Always loved their pizza since my highschool days.
