History

Established in 1991.

Mona Lisa opened in a 1,500 square foot store on 119th & Harlem in Palos Heights, IL on October 29, 1991. Specializing in women’s clothing and accessories, Mona Lisa expanded to include gifts and furniture by adding 2,600 feet of selling space connected to the original space in 1993. In 1994, 2,600 more feet were added to enlarge the clothing and accessories offerings. In 1998, another 1,500 feet were added dedicated to baby and children’s clothing, gifts and furniture. In 2013, Mona Lisa closed the original location and relocated to 12 330-​B Harlem Avenue in the middle of the Palos Heights business district. Mona Lisa appreciates every customer that enters the store and creates events monthly to celebrate customers.

Mona Lisa is run by two very creative sisters who have a talent for selecting a wide range of women’s apparel and home décor items. They present their merchandise in beautiful displays that it is a pleasure to just browse. The new location on Harlem Avenue is so convenient and they have a cute coffee bar which adds such a nice touch to the shopping experience. Another perk to Mona Lisa has special events that are tied into the various seasons/​holidays and they always have elegant refreshments to make the visit special. Palos Heights is very fortunate ML and it is definitely worth the trip to the southwest area.

Its ok .Its an older persons store … It use to be fantastic at holiday time. then they moved to a smaller location… less homeware more older people clothes… appeals to the over sixty crowd… The kind that like to be fussed over.

I’ve driven by this place so many times throughout the years but never saw a reason to go in. For Christmas, I wanted to get some Thymes lotion for a friend of mine and my google search lead me to this place. Personally, there’s not a ton in there I’d buy but I would go back just to deal with the wonderfully friendly people.
