DONOTGO! they have the worst customer service EVER! the owner is rude and they dont care or listen to anything you have to say. there are larger and better selections at the neighboor stores in the mall. the one star was given to the kind worker there who seemed intimidated by the owner! if you plan on buying a new pair of shoes look somewhere else! there are about 3 more shoe stores in the mall that sell the same and MORE! there is no need to go there because they are NOT offering extremely low prices or anything more or less then the other shoe stores! If you need new shoes, baseball caps, sportswear, baby shoes, anything sports related… THISISTHESTORETOVISIT. This store has been around for a long time and the reason why is because the people who run this store work hard to keep their customers happy. They provide great customer service and they don’t sell knock-offs like other stores do in the area. This store has great sales, great selection when it comes to their baseball caps, and they also carry a good selection of clothes. Also, when it comes to exchanges and returns… they have the same return/exchange policy as every other store does. 30 days with receipt. I don’t see why this would be an issue for customers because it isn’t anything new. They also have signs on their counters, so I don’t get how some people choose to bash such a great store because they made the mistake of losing their receipt. If you used a debit card, just go home, print out your statement, and there would no problem. Common sense. Too bad sports town doesn’t sell that to some people. Do not shop here! They will do anything to avoid a return. I bought two hats that I came back to exchange and they won’t do it since I do not have the receipt. The thing is that the lady at the register says she remembers me coming in but she cannot do anything. I am not even asking for a refund, just an exchange. She asked what form of payment I used and I said debit card. Then she said she can’t do an exchange because of that… That there is a difference. What is the difference? If anything they should be able to find my purchase easier. I used to buy a bunch of shoes and hats here. Never again! Retailers are forgetting what good customer service is. My issue could have been easily resolved by just giving me store credit.

I’ve been coming to the Panorama City Mall since I was a wee lad just out of high school. Back then I was cruising Laurel Canyon Blvd in San Fernando, buying girls gold necklaces from Romano Jewelers, buying college football parkas at Footlocker and getting baseball hats from Sports Town Shoes. A lot has changed and a lot hasn’t changed. I don’t buy gold now, I would never wear a college football parka and my crusing days are long gone. But! I still go down to Sports Town Shoes when I need a new New Era 5150 style baseball cap. I know, I know, you’re asking why the hell do I drive to one of the worst malls in Los Angeles for a frickin baseball cap. Well, like everything else, inflation has effected baseball caps as well. A 5150 style New Era cap now goes for 32 bucks at your local Lids store or at Scorecard in Studio City. You’re looking at more than 32 bucks if you’re getting one of those limited edition ones. Anyways, since back in the day, Sports Town Shoes always had the good prices… and they still do. $ 24.99 for the current crop of 5150 style baseball caps. STS has been there for what seems like at least a decade. They’ve always got a good selection of caps, as well as the new styles in basketball shoes, tennis shoes, etc. They’re friendly, they’re prices are competitive and they sell original gear. No knockoffs here. Since I’ve been riding(cycling) more and more I needed a couple new caps to wear… I just can’t pull off those road cycling mini-hat things. Believe me I’ve tried. Besides, since I’m riding in LA, what better way to represent LA than to wear an LA Dodgers hat. If nothing changes in regards to their competitive pricing, I’ll be going to Sports Town Shoes for the next decade.
