The Cove Trattoria is a contemporary family-​owned and operated Italian Trattoria, bringing Italian elegance to every dining experience. Old World tastes blended with New World twists inspire the restaurant’s diverse menu, ranging from Chicken Saltimbocca, Lobster Ravioli and Pasta Rustica, to seasonal specials like flavorful hand-​cut steaks and fresh fish. Each wood-​fire pizza is hand-​tossed and prepared with homemade sauces and fresh ingredients baked in an oversized brick oven. Modern décor and an inviting dining room, complete with local artists’ works adorning the walls, resemble a refined Italian family room with an exhibition kitchen as the backdrop. Presenting a wine list of more than 30 different wines from around the world, a list of specialty Italian cocktails and a smaller bar menu, The Cove Trattoria invites every guest to become a part of the family.

Established in 2002.

We are a family owned and operated Italian restaurant offering comfort Italian food. Owner /​Chef Vinny has operated Italian restaurants for over 40 yrs. Son and daugther Daryl and Heather operate the front of the house.

The Cove Trattoria offers Happy Hour 6 days a week as well as other daily specials, including different daily weekday $ 5 lunch specials. We also offer ½ bottles of wine on Wednesday and Sunday nights.

This is definitely one of my go to date night places! The service is always impeccable and courteous. The prices are seriously reasonable for the food and for the atmosphere. I love the bread and sauce that comes when you first sit down. That’s definitely one of the biggest highlights. The wine selection is nice and the pasta is to die for. As well as all the pizzas! My favorite choice is the filet mignon though! It’s so good!

I love coming to the Cove. A great find in the Scottsdale area. Food is always great and the service is always top notch. The owner Daryl is hands on and will sit and talk with you. Definitely something that sets them apart from the rest. If you are in the area, and even if you are not, make sure to put the Cove on your must dine list.

The staff is very friendly and personable, and they make you feel like you are at an old family friends’ house. The pappardelle bolognase and the chicken saltimboca are my favorites. The Caesar Salad has cashews instead of croutons and is amazing. Half price wine nights on Wednesday and Saturday also! Family owned. Give it a try!

Took my boyfriend here on a Tuesday for his birthday. We got to choose where we wanted to sit. It’s a nice environment, not too fancy, but comfortable. We got the Lobster Ravioli and Pasta Rustica with chicken. Both filled with flavor, only thing is the chicken was a little on the dry side. Overall, with a glass of wine, was a very nice birthday dinner experience!

Please let the owner know they need to update their location as they USED to be on Scottsdale Rd but now are on Indian Bend, next to Ruth’s Chris.
I went in to use a Living Social $ 40 voucher, but was pleasantly surprised to find the happy hour extends until 6:30. And it’s a fabulous happy hour!
Very comfy vibe, feel to this family-​owned place. Personable, professional service, great-​quality food. Someday soon I will return to use this voucher, and I am already a fan!

First, I’ll say the service was great. The great service started with the host, then the team responsible for the table service, including the server, and finally with the management team who came and checked on the service. The food was amazing as well. I had the Grilled Chicken And Shrimp With Pesto Cream Sauce which may the best I ever had, and my wife had the Pasta Rustica and she said that was equally as good.
We got there about 5PM on a Saturday and it wasn’t packed and there was a good energy in the room.
Overall I thought everything was very good, and the prices were more then reasonable, which is a good combination for a great value.
I would highly recommend checking it out.

I am giving this place 4 stars. The food deserves a 5 star but the service more like a 3. Therefore I came to the average of 4. Me and one of my girlfriend came for happy hour and it was not busy at all. Still 15 minutes before anyone paid attention to us. Food was delicious. Started with Caesar salad. It had cashews in it which was oddly amazing! My friend was in love with the mussels and we split a pizza. It was the perfect size for two. We came for happy hour which is over at 6:30 and barely got in our second glass of wine. The waiter wasn’t all that attentive, but tried to make things right. I would def come back here for the food. The crowd is older if you were looking for a younger vibe. We are in our early 30’s and the youngest there.

We got the $ 15 for 30 dollars deal and enjoyed the ANTIPASTI PRINCE EDWARD ISLAND MUSSELS and the SALSICCIA pizza. It was delicious!!! We are definitely spreading the word out and coming back for sure! We can’t believe we can just walk there from our condo!

Went for drinks and happy hour plates. Got our wine and were ready to order but the waitress hadn’t come back in time for the HH deadline. We were shocked because she had given us the HH menus but without warning said, «You just missed the cutoff.»
Luckily, an awesome manager overheard and said that it was no problem. Yea for good, on-​the-​floor managers! He saved the day. :)
The clams, the pizza, the other dishes were delicious and a great deal to boot!

This is a perfect place for a date or an appetizer and wine, but it isn’t my favorite pizza or Italian place in town. Next time I’ll try the pasta, because it looked divine.
They have great specials! They are very kind to wine drinkers as well. When I first went I did not know my wines very well (I still don’t) and they brought me several samples without me even asking. Fantastic service!

With her Royal Highness in tow we stopped in for lunch as my darling once again, got sucked into a «local dines» coupon … Bit I digress.
The place was pretty busy and I noted that they had one and only one waitress that was very nice, but very, very swamped.
Her highness had some sort of veggie, gluten free pizza that made me want to gag but unlike her majesty, I eat pizza that tastes good as opposed to pizza that good for me.
I had their Italian meat sandwich which was actually pretty good. I think the key to success was the lack of bun, or bread … Don’t you just hate a sandwich or sub where’s there’s 4 oz. of meat and 2 pounds of bread ??
The food quality was right in the middle, neither good nor bad and the wait staff was cheerful. The menu was pretty complete and included lobster Rav which in retrospect, I wished I had ordered.
An OK place but from our part of town, just way to far to go …

Plate full of Delish!!!
Pasta is SOoooo good I couldn’t even tell it was Gluten Free!
Debra was very nice, acknowledged the kids and knew everything that went into the dish.

My first time here with a friend for a quick lunch.
Debra the server was nice and welcoming. The food on the website looks good in the pictures and so was when I got it to my table. They have a good wine selection.

Terrible food— this past weekend I ordered the gnocchi & lobster ravioli. The gnocchi itself was $ 20! That doesn’t include seafood or any meat. I couldn’t even take two bites out of the entrée. It’s hard to go wrong with gnocchi (it’s my fave). But mannnnn…
so disappointed.
The lobster ravioli was ok, but I’ll warn you… It’s super duper salty.

We had dinner yesterday evening. They offered a coupon on Groupon which was the only way we learned about this restaurant. It’s not visible from Scottsdale Road, but is in an upscale shopping mall (near Ruth’s Steakhouse) a few hundred yards away. It is a very nice little place and was nearly packed at 5:30 pm. We started off with a Greek Salad, which was good. They offered bread as soon as we sat down with a nice roasted red pepper spread. We asked for more because it was so good.
My wife had their Gnocchi which she liked and I tasted. I had their Lobster Ravioli, which was very good and includes a couple shrimp. I found this dish to have far too much garlic for my taste. They could have made it with a third the garlic and it would have been ample for me. Even my wife, who loves garlic, thought it was very heavy. I know many people that believe there is never too much garlic and I expect they would love it. For me, I could only get through half my meal before I called it quits because of the garlic. It tasted wonderful other than that. Everything was well prepared. We’re not big eaters so we brought home some of our meals and will have them today.
We had no room for dessert but my wife enjoyed an espresso.
Their service is very good. Everyone was pleasant and it was nice to be waited on by people with smiles on their face that seemed genuinely happy to be there.
I’m giving them three stars because of the excessive garlic, but garlic lovers would tell me this is at least a four star restaurant. With respect to garlic, there cook seems to come from the school of thought that if a little is good, a lot must be great.

Nothing like strip shopping center Italian to make you appreciate a good Italian meal. Large portions and good bread, my favorite part of the meal was actually the dessert of chocolate mousse. It was perfection!
The pappardelle bolognese was flavorful. Hubby went with the grilled chicken and shrimp in pesto and enjoyed it to the last bite, while also enjoying panna cotta as dessert. Decent pricing and a busy place worthy of a second meal.

We went for Happy Hour and the bar area was really filled, so we went to sit on the patio which was fine.
Our waitress was very friendly and the food was good but certainly not the best in Scottsdale.
The drinks were average as was our overall experience.
They play music from the 50’s and 60’s since there is an older crowd.

Enjoyable dinner at the Cove. Great pizzas, fantastic salads and superb service. Our server, Anthony, was top notch and went above and beyond in his customer service skills. Ambiance, décor and cleanliness all above average also. Nice place to catch some happy hour deals and the lunch specials they advertise are worth heading back for.
I would not recommend the calamari, but have heard the shrimp verde is phenomenal. Will be trying that next.
