Welcome To Las Vegas Sign

How can you go to Vegas without visiting the «Welcome to Vegas» sign? If you’re there on the daily, then you don’t need to but you NEED to be here at least ONCE!
I heard that this place was recently improved because people usually parked «illegally» on the side to get the picture but now they have a good amount of parking spots. Also another thing that was pretty cool is that there’s a guy there that is taking people’s pictures (please tip him if you do get his help!)
Oh yea! Please be respectful because there is a line and it can get a little long so be patient.
Like I said, make a pit stop here. It’s kind of at the end of the strip so doesn’t hurt to end the trip going here. And day time is the best time to go! Just bring your sunglasses & maybe selfie sticks.

This is one of the landmarks of Vegas I think everyone should visit just because it’s fun and you can say that you did it.
I’ve never come here before and I’m not really sure why, but I’m glad that did. It’s in the middle of the street and it’s easily accessible. It has it’s own parking lot so you don’t have to worry about how you’re going to get to it.
I’m sure it can get really crowded because even though we got there at a slow time, we weren’t there very long before the next wave of people started piling in. It can be difficult to get a good picture with all of the people there if there isn’t a line or something to suggest that everyone should be organized.
Giving only four stars instead of five because if you go at night, like we did, and don’t have a decent camera then you won’t get a good picture which sucks. We tried using our phones but it just wouldn’t work. But if you want a night shot and don’t have a good camera you can be sure that there are people there with high quality cameras who are more than willing to take your picture for a fee. I wasn’t interested in paying so I’ll just go back during the day next time.

The «Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas Nevada» sign is iconic, so much so it’s literally in Paradise. It’s as definitive and iconic as the Golden Gate bridge, the Hollywood sign, Milton-Freewater’s (Oregon) «Home of Low Cost Utilities» sign and the Sandia Peak tram. It defines the place. «Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas» reflects the city’s character– it looks cheap, tacky, loud. and who’d want it any different? It’s got its own parking lot; people do wait in line to see it, like an object of pilgrimage. It attracts wedding parties, Elvises, you name it.

The Welcome to Las Vegas sign beckons. It’s an oasis of sorts upon the Strip. Since it dates back to 1959 and has its own distinct Pop Art style, it’s now a National Historic Landmark. What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas, since this wouldn’t fit in any other place, and we wouldn’t want it any other way.

Parking is limited.
Don’t be that douche nut who stops in the middle of the road to drop off people — go at the end and park! It’s crowded as it is.
Long line for your time to the whole sign itself.
You can take it at a diff spot, it’s all about the angles!

I went to Vegas for the first time in 2013. I was heading to Utah and McCarran was the easiest flight. Since I rented a car to get to Utah I drove all around Vegas the three days I spent there first. That sign was just one of many stops I made. Iconic America. When in Vegas this is a «have to see».

They come to mind as well. If you are in the area it’s a «must see».
If you come by here around 5 am, as I did, no one is around. But if you come at 1 am, as I also did another night, it’s a busy place. And all day long there seem to be lines to get a picture with the sign. But it’s worth it. You are already in Vegas. Fresh air will do you good. Come see this.

On the Monday night of Leap Year 2÷29÷2016, we visited the iconic Welcome To Fabulous Las Vegas, Nevada sign.
Parking was easy and accessible from the southbound Las Vegas Blvd lane. Plenty of international tourists snapping photos, and eager to take a photo of us, as seen below.
As a valley resident for the past 24 years, i’m actually surprised this was my 1^st time visiting this city landmark; and am glad it was shared with the most important person in my life; my son!

As an almost annual visitor, I’m embarrassed to say that I’ve never actually been to the world famous Las Vegas sign. *gasp* I know, but on this trip we took a slight detour and made an appearance. It’s a cool souvenir photo opportunity and I highly recommend out of town visitors to check it out. Did I mention that it’s free too? :)

The sign was easy to get to and there is a parking lot. There was a line to take a picture directly in front of the sign but I said screw that and we move 5 feet to the left and got our picture and got the heck of there. Easy peasy and it turned out great, I recommend that.

Para quem vai de carro é só parar um pouco depois de entrar na cidade! Para quem está na street há a opção do ônibus ou a pé! Há um trem gratuíto que leva do Excalibur ao Mandalay Bay que encurta a distância em pouco mais de um quilômetro!
Sim, há uma fila para tirar a foto frontal, mas você pode chegar de ladinho sem atrapalhar o fundo de quem tá na fila e tirar uma foto mais rápida! Eu fiz as duas coisas para ter vários ângulos de visão.
Quando eu fui havia uma pessoa que tirava foto de graça da sua máquina e dançarinas de espetáculo e alguns Elvis que poderiam entrar no seu registro imagético.
Todos em busca de gorjetas, embora não exijam isso de quem se dispõe a tirar foto com eles. Mas convenhamos, os caras tão ali no sol e/​ou no frio o dia inteiro, se você tirar foto com eles deixe uns trocados e ajude a manter o espírito de Vegas!

Such a gorgeous & iconic sign! If you have guests visiting from out of town, they’ll definitely be excited to see the sign in person & take some pictures with it!
The line may be a bit shorter in the early morning, or at dusk. Otherwise the lines aren’t that long that I’ve seen, and to someone who has never seen it before, it’s definitely worth the wait!

I love this sign. Mainly because it makes for some hilarious people watching. I work near here and have to drive by when I run work errands. I love glancing over and inevitably something hilarious is occurring.
Recently the parking lot was expanded so nobody should have a problem getting a parking spot. If you are staying on the Strip it can be quite a hike depending on where you are staying. I don’t think I’d walk here unless I was staying at Mandalay Bay. Anything north of Mandalay and I’d get a ride. The parking lot is only accessible if traveling south on Las Vegas Boulevard. If you want to access from the north side you’ll have to u-​turn somewhere.
There are always people here. When I drive by at 7:00 on a weekday there are people here. It’s common to see Elvis, wedding parties, and hooker wannabes. Like I said, it’s always interesting. Visitors are usually good about forming a single line so that everyone can get an unobstructed photo with the sign.
Definitely an iconic Vegas stop. This is the perfect time to bust out your new selfie stick. We all know you’re tourists so don’t be shy.

I have been to Vegas a gazillion times and never took a picture by the «Welcome to Vegas» sign until today! I’m giving it 5 stars because I didn’t have to wait for anyone to move to take my pic! The cold weather and the how early I went probably has a lot to do with that! There is room for a small amount of parking which is cool! This is definitely a must do when in Vegas and something I finally get to cross off of my bucket list!

In all the years I have been coming to Vegas this was my first trip to the sign! As other reviewers have written, don’t wait in line just take the photo from the side at an angle. If you’re going north bound on the strip you can easily access the sign from a small parking lot.

This is a great free, tourist activity. There are a lot of imitations of the sign but the original is really fun. They even have a small parking lot. There was a long line against the fake grass. It was very cold this weekend so we just jumped to the side to take a photo!

They are building extra space for the parking. Went around 11:15. There’s a short line already. However, if you don’t want to wait, you can take pictures from the side. I brought my selfie stick and totally helped me save some time from waiting.
I drove from Tropicana to south Las Vegas Blvd and the Parkin lot entrance will be on your left hand side.

Everybody has seen this iconic sign before whether it was in person, in a magazine, or in a movie. I’ve stopped into Vegas well over 12+ times now and while we have driven by the place, we never stopped by for our tourist pictures. This time changed all that! After parking in the tiniest lot, the median where this great sign sits basically, we got out and stood in line for five minutes before wandering off-​center to the side for a few pictures. Sorry Elvis impersonator, you weren’t enough to keep me standing under sunny skies on Veteran’s Day. Plus, I was hungry for some food and I would rather eat…
While yes, it’s iconic and holds such significance to the growth and personality of Paradise, Nevada, it’s still just a sign.

This is a MUST STOP! If you have guests in town! Your guests will complain till they see the pics … All to much FUN!

I never experienced such a unique tourists spot in the whole world like in our city, the Welcome to Las Vegas sign! Who would actually thought that people willing to wait in line to take pictures with a «welcome «sign? Only in Vegas … ha, ha, ha
Well, in the past few years it became so popular, the county or city decided to build an actual parking lot for the safety of picture taking people! This parking lot just got expanded recently for a bigger parking lot! Thank you! That was very thoughtful!
Did you notice that taking pictures of the sign is pretty easy, but if you want your face in the same picture, it just doesn’t work? (talking about night time) The lightning is very important! So … if the sign shows pretty … your face staying dark … or your face shows pretty, then the sign staying dark!
Tonight we had a great experience here! Some professional photographers are hanging around and offer to take the picture of us. No charges what so ever, only for donations! So we thought it would be nice to have good pictures, and let them do the magic!
Let me tell you something! This is the best kept secret in town! They have the camera and a talent to impress anyone! They are taking amazing pictures!
Plus, we got the photo instantly to our IPhones!

It’s a sign. A super famous, kind of lackluster, but you-​gotta-​see-​it sign. It’s a landmark. It’s like one of the wonders of the United States. You have to see it!
I’ve been to Vegas multiple times (like 6) but had never seen this sign. It was like a unicorn. So, my fiancée and I decided to go to it. We walked many miles down the strip to see it. By the time we arrived, it was dark and it was difficult to get a photo but I was glad we saw it at night while it was lit up.
There were many people here, and it’s so strange. It’s located between the north– and south-​bound lanes of Las Vegas Blvd, at least 1 mile south of Mandalay Bay. The landscape around the sign is astroturf. It’s actually quite comical. But you have to do it.
I’d recommend taking the bus down to the sign unless you are wearing proper walking/​running shoes or are staying on the south end of the Strip. Sure, it’s smaller than I expected and not as glamorous but I can cross it off my bucket list: D I do LOVE Fabulous Las Vegas!!!

Must stop place for anyone on a Las Vegas vacation! I went on a Saturday morning at 8 AM and there were very few people in line to take pics, but enough for someone to take your pics for you. Definitely go in the morning to avoid long lines, the hot sun, and difficulty with the parking lot nearby. Really gorgeous scenery and a must-​stop place.

Unser erster Besichtigungspunkt in Las Vegas war das 1959 von Betty Willis entworfene Schild «Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas», das am südlichen Ende des Las Vegas Boulevard steht. Es ist sicherlich eines der meistfotografierten Motive der Stadt und jeder kennt es aus diversen Hollywood-​Filmen.
Betty Willis hat das Schild im Auftrag des Clark County entworfen, das heute der Young Electric Sign Company gehört. Obwohl in Las Vegas viel und schnell etwas abgerissen wird, hat es bis heute den Bauboom überlebt. Wenn man das Schild von der Rückseite betrachtet sieht man: «Drive Carefully Come Back Soon».
Vor dem Mittelstreifen befinden sich einige Parkplätze für PKW´s und Busse. Das Schild befindet sich auf Höhe des Mandalay Bay Resort Hotel, früher war das weit außerhalb der südlichen Stadtgrenze. Oft wird behauptet, dass das Schild schon mehrmals versetzt wurde, was aber anhand von Aufzeichnungen des Clark County verneint werden kann.
Vor dem Schild kann man sich dann in die Warteschlange einreihen, um ein Bild mit dem berühmten Sign zu knipsen. Rechts und links rauscht der Autoverkehr vorbei und auf der rechten Seite kann man über den Zaun das Treiben des McCarran Airport zusehen.
Das Motiv kann man in vielen Variationen in den unzähligen Souvenirläden von Las Vegas kaufen, da es nicht durch ein Copyright geschützt wurde. Es ist ratsam relativ früh einen Besuch einzuplanen, da man sonst keinen Parkplatz am Sign findet und lange in der Schlange bei sengender Hitze warten muss.
Sicherlich ein unverzichtbare Sehenswürdigkeit bei einem Besuch der Wüstenstadt.

We arrived here in the afternoon when it was hot. There was a long line. I wasn’t enjoying the fact that I was standing in line just to get a photo with this sign. Luckily it didn’t take too long to get a photo. There was a nice guy taking photos with whatever camera device you had whether it’s your cell phone or an actual camera. That was super nice of him to take our photos with my phone.
We were standing behind a bunch of guys who were freaking idiots with beer cans in their hands. That’s Vegas for you. They were cursing and one guy had his freaking pants down in front of my daughter. At least he had underwear on. Really rude and freaking annoying. Just disrespectful! If only they can understand what it’s like to have a young kid. I get that some people don’t like kids but please don’t ruin it for the rest of us! I almost wanted to say something, but I kept quiet.
Parking was even a nightmare with stupid people who drive crazy. I’ve seen it all here. A guy even ran a red light and cuts off people. This is why I give it three stars. All of these factors come in and it definitely wasn’t a pleasant experience.
The guy with my cell phone took a bunch of photos of us. One family photo, one with my daughter by herself and one with just me and hubby, but I posted my favorite photo out of them all which was all of us together as a family. My hubby and daughter is what is important to me.

One of the most iconic landmarks anywhere and its simply just a sign… or is it? Heck it even proclaims itself to be «Fabulous». So I guess it may just well be more than just a sign.
It is the only sign that I know that has its own parking lot in the median of a major road. Heck it even has a famous backside. There has been a lot of thought that has gone into this thing. There is a bunch of Astroturf around it to have that nice beautiful shade of green as well as some desert rocks and a few palm trees… But why did they put a bunch of power lines right behind it. That seems like it was a faux pas to me.
None the less this place is always busy, morning noon midnight and all hours inbetween. Definitely a mandatory photo op spot if you are in Lost Wages. So stop on by the far south end of the strip and take a pic.

Viva Las Vegas!!!
Yes it is a tourist attraction. I think everyone needs to visit it to make the Las Vegas trip official.
It is about a 15 minute walk from the nearest casino which is the Mandalay Bay Casino. It feels like you’re in a desert if your walking to there. I walked it to there, but decided to cab back to the casino.
Elvis was there and there’s a professional photographer to help take photos on your camera.
Hopefully you don’t get stuck on a long line. 2^nd option is to take a side view photos of the sign.

For a National Historic Landmark, you can’t give it less than 5 stars, I mean c’mon!
They have a parking lot that you can easily pull into & it was almost full but not quite. We went on a Thursday afternoon.
There was a line to take a picture at the sign but with the heat (summer time 110+ degrees), there was no way I was standing in that line. NO WAY JOSE!
We passed by it at night too & there was still a line so it looks like no matter when you go, you will be standing in line.
We got a picture right by it via selfie status, no problem! Got in the car & blasted the A/​C. I say you do the same unless you want to suffer a heat stroke with the 110+ heat. I am just sayin’
OH! Apparently there is another sign on the other side of the strip that is less-​crowded because not that many people know about it. I didn’t get a chance to visit it but just FYI!

A must do if you’re in Vegas, plus it’s free, so why not?
Stand in line and and wait your turn for a picture behind Vegas’s most iconic sign.
If you’re lucky, Elvis will be there too. He may sing a song for you, for a donation of course.
The area is very pedestrian friendly with many walking signals to get you safely across the street.
The downside is waiting in line in the scorching hear, but when in Vegas…
It actually could be a good thing. You may sweat some of the alcohol out while you wait in line.
You only need to go once, but you definitely need to go.

The classic «Welcome to FABULOUS Las Vegas» sign is a real thing and there’s a parking lot where you can drop your car (or your limo) so that you can get your classic shot of the sign. And yes, I did it.
When Las Vegas attraction would be complete without a wedding party of Asians, another of girls wearing pink tutus and an Elvis impersonator? Really, it was as cliché as you can possibly imagine. AWESOME!

Welcome to Las Vegas!
It is the symbol of Las Vegas that almost everyone knows. You’ve seen it in movies or on postcards but I think you should see it in person. Located south of Mandalay Bay, the entrance to the parking area is off of Las Vegas Blvd heading south. Sometimes the parking is a bit hectic but they’ve added more spots which eases the pain.
You might see a long line of visitors waiting to capture a Kodak moment, but it does move quickly. If you don’t have someone there to take the picture, there are usually people there to take the group picture for you for a tip of course.
A few minutes of your time is worth the stop. If you don’t remember anything from a Vegas trip, at least you will have a picture ‘safe’ enough to share.

It took me several times visiting Vegas to stop here, but this should be on everyone’s Vegas bucket list. So many happy people, just getting their pictures taken. I assume there’s usually someone (unofficially) there to take your pic for you (for tips). I helped a couple sets of folks out who were unsuccessfully «selfie”-ing to the side of the sign to avoid the line (for karma, not tips). But the line wasn’t that terrible at 11am (10 – 15 minutes?) on a bright Monday. And the «Elvis» I see in several folks’ recent pics was there too, taking pics with/​for folks (for tips).
The parking lot in the Las Vegas Blvd. median just south of the sign holds a dozen cars or so, which is convenient. If you’re coming south on the strip, just past Mandalay Bay, when you’re seeing the airport on the left, look for the entrance to the Bali Hai Golf Club on the right. The Sign will be almost immediately visible when you are passing the Bali Hai entrance.
Or just do what I did, and walk. You probably need to burn the calories from your latest buffet anyway! (Well, ok, maybe doing this in the Summer heat wouldn’t be the best idea…)
It’s about .8 miles to «Mandalay Bay Rd», or a mile to Reno Ave. (between the Luxor and Excalibur). 1.4 miles gets you to NY/​NY or the MGM Grand, and about 1.8 miles will get you to City Center. Five miles away, you can walk from the Stratosphere! The sidewalk on the Mandalay side is plenty wide, with only one detour to catch the bridge over Tropicana. I didn’t go on the airport side, so I have no opinion on walking there.
Seriously. Just do it.
