CFR was thorough, attentive, and prompt on delivering my car from New England all the way out to California. I was more so pleased with CFR than the broker connecting me to them (who had provided me with several false information). It was much appreciated that the driver (s) stayed in touch throughout the delivery process to keep me updated.

If zero stars were possible that’s what I would give. This is a shady very unprofessional «company» they shipped a truck for me via Seamless auto transport which is a great company except that they use cfr. First they picked my truck up a day late. Then delivered a day late. After I got the truck home I noticed 2 fresh cuts in the headliner that was flawless. I called the driver 2 minutes after he left and he wouldn’t answer. He answered quick every time when I still owed money. Then never heard from him again. Called cfr to file a claim. 5 messages not one response. I sent email and left 5 messages with Victoria in claims. Been 5 days with out a single response. I will be going after them legally to force them to pay for their damage since they are to shady to deal with their mistake. Horrible sketchy company. The never answer the phone and will not call back or acknowledge email. Don’t let these crooks touch your vehicle. Very shady and unprofessional. Do not trust or use this company. There way to many out there to deal with one companies horrible habits. DO NOT USE CFR!!!

So happy I used this company to ship my car. Everything went smoothly with my transport. I received my car in 8 days and I have no complaints. I spoke with Joey in the la office and he was able to answer all my questions and updated me when my car arrived. I will be in touch for my next car shipment.

Our issues have finally been resolved. After a lot of back and forth we agreed on a settlement for the scratches on our car. Victoria was very helpful in getting the check sent out to my daughter and followed up with me to ensure it arrived with a phone call today.
I appreciate the effort that went into resolving our problems and would feel better about recommending this company now.

I moved from east to west and had shipped my car with CFR Auto Direct. My experience with this company was fantastic ! They allowed me to pack my trunk with my personal belongings and gave me updates along the way. It only took 9 days to arrive after being quoted 10 – 11 days by my broker. 5 stars for sure !

⁹⁄₅ — Adventure with CFR Rinkens LLC to ship my car from Boston to LA begins! I got arrangements to have my car shipped through them by a helpful broker Total Car Shipping. The differentiator with CFR Rinkens is that have a system with trains to help with the transport. After my prepayment with the broker was done I got the contact info for CFR Rinkens. Talked to a helpful person at CFR Rinkens who said I could call next business day to get info about pickup from the Driver Manager. I noticed some not too good Unilocal reviews and they mostly seem to be when people are taking their car Eastward whereas the Westward trips have better reviews. This is the third time i have had my car shipped and hoping this is a good experience!
9÷8− Called the number for the driver dispatcher. They asked for my reference # and found me in the system. Said I would get a call the day before the pickup to discuss the pickup times!
⁹⁄₁₄ — two days before scheduled pickup and got a call to inform me of the driver and their phone number — will touch base tomorrow to get exact pickup time — checked and they accept gratuities which I am sensing is the norm for the industry
⁹⁄₁₅ — got in touch w/​driver and goal is a window pickup between 10am — 2pm which seems reasonable for 1 day out
⁹⁄₁₆ — got a call about an hour before the pickup and another about 15 minutes out. They arrived, inspected the car and were soon on their way. As they were able to meet my expectations for the pickup I gave a $ 20 gratuity
⁹⁄₂₆ — right on the expected day of delivery and after my plane had landed in LAX I got a call that they were ready to get me the car. they were able to do a same day change from Burbank delivery to LAX area and soon I was reunited with my car. I gave a gratuity for the delivery driver as it was someone different and they beat my expectations by delivering on time and able to change the delivery location. I had a very delightful experience with CFR Rinkens for this East to West journey.

I’ll start by saying my car has not been delivered yet, and depending on the resolution this can change.
It has been over 10 days and I have not received any communication from CFR whatsoever. I have been unable to reach either driver whose contact info was provided to me at pickup, and the main number usually goes to voicemail (no evenings or weekends) My transport broker isn’t much help either. Anything I’ve learned about the status was from calling myself early in the morning and speaking to an operator.
The last time we spoke was Monday, and I was assured it would be delivered today (Wednesday). I asked for a delivery before 10AM or after 3PM due to me and my girlfriend’s work schedules. She waited at home all afternoon and night for the delivery. It never came. Not even a phone call!
I have still not been contacted by them as I write this. I’m getting worried.
I expected much more. This evening I left a voicemail at the dispatch office, and contacted them via web form to improve my chances of a response. I will update this review with any new info.

I received my car today from CFR. Nothing was missing or damaged, which makes me feel somewhat better about my car shipment process. The broker, All State Trans., assigned me to CFR for the shipment of my car from PHL-​CA. My deposit covered my car through the 7 – 9 days it would take to ship across the country. The driver was the nicest person I’ve talked to throughout the entire experience with CFR. I think that it is unfortunate that I had to hunt down a representative to know that my car was going to be late. I wouldn’t recommend this company because the customer service was so poor I am just glad to be rid of my business with this company. I got my car back in tack with all of my belongings, probably because I covered everything and packed accordingly.

Just transported my car from Boston to LA. Everything went great! I had a small issue with time and needed the car a day early. I spoke with Joey at CFR and he made it happen. Car arrived exactly how I left it and they went the extra mile getting it here a day sooner. I would HIGHLY recommend this company.

I had a car transported NY to CA and I couldn’t be happier with the way things were handled. My car arrived in perfect condition and as for people saying things get stolen… Don’t leave anything in the car. They make sure you know that. That’s your own responsibility.

Christoph S. of CFR Rinkens attempted to deflect blame in his Unilocal response to my original review, but sadly, he is mistaken. I did indeed receive awful service from the broker company that I used, but I was equally frustrated by my direct dealings with CFR Rinkens. Every problem in my review here was specific to CFR Rinkens. To recap:
I was told by multiple CFR Rinkens reps that my car would definitely be delivered on a Wednesday after 5pm. When I called CFR Rinkens at 3pm that day, I was told that the car wouldn’t be delivered on that day, but either Thursday night or first thing Friday morning. «I don’t know who told you Wednesday.» CFR Rinkens did — multiple times.
And the CFR Rinkens driver was the one who told me the car would definitely be delivered between 4pm and 7pm that evening. Then later that it would be delivered after 6:30pm. And of course it was eventually delivered some hours later. That CFR Rinkens driver was disgruntled and rude to me and my wife several times, always rushing us off the phone, and didn’t know how to use his GPS. He’s the one who compelled us to walk down the street at night to a local shopping center to pick up the vehicle.
CFR Rinkens called me very infrequently. I had to take the initiative to call directly, and regularly had to leave voicemails.
Chrisoph S. focuses on the delivery estimate of the broker, and a grace period. If there’s a grace period, the CFR Rinkens reps need to tell that to the customer directly. I wasn’t told by these reps that the Wednesday delivery, for instance, was an estimate. They told me the car **would arrive then**, full stop.
In short: yes, the broker company was bad, too, but CFR Rinkens was just as frustrating and, try as they might, can’t avoid the blame with me. Their service with me was downright appalling.

These people are unaccountable crooks! They gave me a date to expect my car which then was postponed a week at the last minute. The mileage on my car increased 300 miles which is ridiculous! Things were stolen from my vehicle, and scratches were all over my car. Their customer service reps are very rude, and know one will ever know where your car is when you call them. Very unprofessional DO NOT USE!

So far so good. I am moving to Cali and needed my car shipped from NJ.
After reading the other reviews I am not sure whether they are talking about the same company because communication has been nothing but great! And they seem to genuinely care about you getting your vehicle to where it needs to go.
Right now I am in the process of getting my car picked up tomorrow.
I am still in the starting stages so we shall see how this journey ends… but so far so good. I will update soon.
UPDATE:
I got my car, and the communication was great, except when it wasn’t. I got my car a day late, and it would of been two days late had I not accepted the driver bringing it to me at 2am on a Tuesday! I will admit the driver was super cool, and kept me posted throughout the trip.
My car on the other hand was not so cool. Nothing major, but since I do have a white car with cream interior any type of dirt shows, and it did. It was like a dust bunny went crazy in my car, nothing a quick wipe down couldn’t handle but still, I have to get it professionally cleaned on the inside since dirt is now hiding in the leather.
All in all is was an okay experience. I was hoping to get a discount since I had to rent a car for another day due to lateness, but of course they never got back to me on that and I won’t hold it against them.
Would I use them again… yes for sure.
Things I would do if I ever did it again:
* Wrap my seats up and put a cover on the floor.
* Put exactly half a tank of gas in the car, I left it near empty just to be safe if anyone tried to drive it, and boy was that a mistake. Just trust me on this one.
* Rent a car for 1 – 2 extra days, and make sure I have someone to pick me up when it’s dropped off.

It has been a NIGHTMARE dealing with this company — as others have mentioned their communication is abysmal. I have taken TWO days off of work now waiting for my car to arrive, because for two days in a row, I have been told that my car is going to be delivered, and then after waiting around all day and finally calling them, I am told that «oh no, the car hasn’t reached the state yet.» Are you kidding me? You know the car isn’t here, you can’t reach out and let people know that their vehicle won’t be coming on the scheduled (and then re-​scheduled) date? I understand that weather and road conditions can cause delays, but I’m paying quite a bit of money for a service, and I expect part of that service to be informed when delivery times are changed. Next time I need to ship a vehicle, I’ll go with a company that understands customer service. Thi place is a joke.

STOLE OVER $ 700 WORTH OF ITEMS FROM MY CAR
Please do not use this company. They are crooks and liars. I had my car shipped across the county from NJ to California in January and my broker went through CFR Rinkens.
First off, my car did not arrive until 11:30 pm on a Monday when it was set up for delivery for 6 pm. The driver kept making up excuses as to why he would be later and later.
Secondly, I was told I could put 100 lbs of items in my car. Upon me receiving my car, there were multiple items missing. People in their company RUMMAGED through my car compartments and trunk and stole multiple items. When I brought this to their attention, the company denied the claims and said «maybe someone broke into your car» I had made a police report and there was no sign of forced entry to my car. They only compensated me $ 200 when they stole over $ 700 worth of things. Including my phone charger, my air freshener and an entire bag full of things from my trunk.
This company is dishonest, rude, and could care less that their employees STOLE my property. If you want quality service, DO NOT USE this company!!!

So moving a car cross-​country is a big purchase that you don’t make very often… so while it’s very long, I wanted to provide a comprehensive overview of the experience; something I wish I could have read before choosing a transport company.
I booked my car shipment through
(an amazing website that lets companies bid on the transport of your car) and CFR Rinkens came in with the lowest bid by far. I was moving from South Florida to Los Angeles, and made the reservation about three weeks in advance. I gave companies a 3-​day window to pick up my car (preferring it be picked up on the last day) and a 10-​day window from that point to deliver my car (hoping it would come sooner rather than later, but hoping for low bids).
CFR Rinkens called me a week before the first pick-​up day to confirm the transport. I told the dispatcher that I would prefer a Wednesday pickup instead of Monday, and he told me the driver would call me Sunday night to confirm, and I should just tell him to come on Wednesday. This seemed a little relaxed and sketchy at first… I wanted to have this set in stone and not be left without a car… but it went exactly as the dispatcher told me it would… and the driver had no problem coming on another day.
On actual pickup day I got a call from a dispatcher with a 2-​hour estimate of when the driver would arrive, and another call directly from the driver when he was 30 minutes out. Driver was polite, thorough, and prompt. Many car companies have restrictions on the amount of goods (if any) you can put in the car during transport. I packed the truck full of my personal belongings, and put one item in the backseat. The trunk was never opened during his inspection of my car, and I was never asked if anything was inside. I’ll call that a win for me.
Fast forward one week to the other side of the country, 2 days before promised delivery. I’ve heard nothing from CFR Rinkens, so I gave the number on my receipt a call. The dispatcher on the other end had NO RECORD of my car with my booking ID, make & model, my name, or the final 6 numbers of my VIN. The dispatcher was going to call the Miami office to see if they had info, and call me back. I received no call back, a HUGE customer service nono for me.
The next day brought the same frustration. Calls to the office, unable to locate my car, calls to Miami, ‘They’re working on the problem.’ Finally I did receive a call back near the end of the day, saying the ‘problem’ had been fixed, but my car wouldn’t arrive until three days after the deadline. 20 minutes later I get an email from UShip saying by car had been «picked up.» This leads me to believe with near certainty that my car was sitting in Miami going nothing for more than a week.
Delivery Day! (Not.) Now three days past deadline, I wake up with a full slate of register-​your-​car-​in-​a-​new-​state activities planned only to be told on my *second* call of the day that the car would be there in 2 more days.
Two days later, now 5 days past deadline. I’ve been taking Über to my new job. I take the day off work to receive my car and complete those DMV activities. A call to CFR Rinkens reveals they do have my car, but the delivery driver doesn’t come to work until 2:30p, and will be at my apartment around 4. In CFR Rinkens time, that actually means 7:35pm.
If you’re still listening to my sob story about being stuck in a driving city without my car for far longer than I agreed… this next point is really the most important: My car was returned in the exact condition I left it. Everything in my trunk was still there. The ordeal was over… and I didn’t have to worry about stolen goods like some other Unilocalers have alleged.
TL;DR –
is amazing… and will save you tons of money. But their internal reviews are not to be trusted. Check Unilocal before trusting a company not to completely misplace your car!

They stole my CLOTHES!
Avoid this company if you can. I had to relocate for work and I used them to ship my car. They tell me that it is safe to ship things in the car as long as it is only «things like clothes» and they are stored safely in the trunk. I followed their direction and stored everything the way they suggested, still everything was stolen.
There are three or four reviews here mentioning the same thing about stolen items, i think maybe it is time to look into it?

I would not recommend them to anyone. The communication was poor, they were two days later than the latest date in their delivery estimate, and they STOLE ITEMS from my vehicle.
First, my car arrived two days later than the latest date I was given in the estimated range, and there was almost no communication the entire time. I had to change the delivery address BEFORE I signed the contract but they still sent the car to the old delivery address NOT in the contract and that had only been in their system for literally one minute. Worst of all, my poor family member had to wait up until 1 a.m. when they finally delivered the vehicle after I was told it would be delivered by «mid afternoon.»
Second, they are terrible at communication. They kept promising to call and give me updates, and they never did. I would always need to call them to get any sort of update about the car. Joey was nice when I finally got a hold of him, but he wasn’t responsible for the receiving end part of my car being shipped, which is where most of the problems occurred.
Third, someone stole my ipod, sunglasses, and about $ 30 in quarters from the driver’s seat arm rest in my car. It’s just petty and pathetic on their part for me to open the arm rest and see my coin slot upended and the rolls of quarters missing. Like I wouldn’t notice?
Go with someone else. These guys don’t care about their customers at all.

I used CFR to ship my Camry overseas and back and it was so easy! The girls I dealt with made the process very easy– especially with all the paperwork. When my car arrived in the UK, there were no damages and same with it coming back. Though Customs chose my car for inspection, Connie kept me updated and put my mind at ease. I did end up paying a little more because of that but that’s Customs for ya.
If I decide to go overseas with my car again, I’m definitely coming back to them.
