On Kathleen’s big day, we woke up at the crack of dawn to get beautified, since the wedding was a brunch affair. Charys came to Kathleen’s hotel room to style not only our hair and make-​up (bride and maid of honor) but also the makeup for the mother of the bride and the mother of the groom. While Charys is not a full-​time makeup artist, per se, she has the talent and professionalism of one!
Kathleen wanted her hair in a large bun and despite her not having waist-​length hair, Charys was able to make her wish come true. She looked stunning, especially with natural-​looking make-​up and her tiara on her head. I could tell she was very pleased with her styling for the day, and she looks radiant in every picture that was taken of her that day – and there were many of which!
I wanted my hair blown out straight and kept off to the side for the ceremony, to accentuate my single strap bridesmaid dress. It looked really nice! I did take out the bobby pins for the reception and let my hair fall naturally. As for cosmetic application, I presented a picture of someone I went to high school with who had lovely bridal make-​up, and asked if she could do that on me. Charys knew better than to do that; she said that with my extremely deep-​set and somewhat far-​apart eyes, I would look like a «baby badger» and that such smoky eyes would be a mistake. I let her take the reins and was more than satisfied with the results.
While the mother of the bride and mother of the groom both have short hair that they styled themselves, their make-​up looked pretty as well.
I would highly recommend Charys for any special event, as she is kind, skilled, and willing to travel to you.
