Bounce U

So while at BounceU in Paramus today, my son, along with another Black child, was discriminated against by a staff member named Montana. I watched, along with the other child’s grandmother, as they were being discriminated against. She was handing out glow bracelets for the kids to have while dancing in the dark. She deliberately walked around my son and his friend to hand the none Black children bracelets even when they had their hands out. She ran out of bracelets so I gave her the benefit of doubt and thought she was going to get more. She did. Yet when she came back with them, she still ignored them and walked around them again handing bracelets out to the other kids and even their parents. My son noticed. He asked me why didn’t he nor his friend get a bracelet, but every other kid did. I took it to the manager, Lauren, just for her to say how well she knew Montana and she may have done it by accident. No apologies for the way they’ve been treated just basically telling me that I’m a liar and could be making it up. Well, BounceU, now we’re moving to the corporate level. Never will I ever spend my money there.

k, in a nutshell, this place is better for kids as the kids going there for a party, than for the parents, who are throwing the party. i’ve been there a few times for parties and we thoroughly enjoyed it. but as a mom who threw the party, will never throw a party there again.
first off, i agree with the previous reviews, they definitely count the kids that barely walk! i was already in the higher package, so i just let it go, but very annoying!
when they were bringing in the birthday kids, i have twins, they didn’t even wait for me to be there! what the heck! i was in the next room putting in the cake toppers. i was not happy.
i have twins and they separated the chairs so my son was at the end of one table and my daughter was at the end of another. and yet, when they bring the cake, they put it in front of my son. what about my daughter? they obviously didn’t think things through.
they didn’t even give us time to take family pics.
i had my own favors, but since they wouldn’t give me credit for not using their favors, i added soccer balls. THEY DIDN’T HAVE IT READY! so many people left without taking any. again, PISSED!
also, i ordered the click picks. just looked at the photos. WHAT A WASTE OF MONEY! DO NOT ORDER CLICK PICKS. pictures are blurred. lighting sucks. they took lots of pictures of the BACKS of kids. they used a cheap digital camera. if you will charge people $ 25 bux for pics, at least take decent pictures! invest in a dslr.
i think my party coordinator was daniella. wow. she had such an unpleasant attitude. no smiles. she looked like she didn’t want to be there. at least fake it!
lastly, i was paying the bill. they wanted tip. so i asked how much people usually gave. the lady who was taking payment said on average, $ 20 per kid. WHAT? that’s how much parties usually cost. they wanted me to tip that much? yeah right. i was like, that’s as much as the party! she’s like, yeah, well, they don’t get paid much, just like $ 5. ridiculous. even though i don’t feel they deserved it, i gave them more than 15%, which i think is sufficient and generous.
anyway, overall, kids love bounceu. just hated throwing the party there. will never throw another party there again. if anyone asks for recommendation, bounce u will not be on my list.

Okay so l’m posting about my experience from beginning to end.
When i first decided to make the call, the customer service over the phone was amazing. They broke down everything to me. The goodie bags, the treats, the order they preform their parties. I mean they were very thorough.
So we booked. I got sent over a manual with my free invitations for me to mail out, they also set me up with a
page for his party, which made it o much easier for me.
A week prior to the party they called to verify all the details and make sure we were happy with everything.
When we arrived they place was great. at the entrance are coin games the kids can play. They also have an instructional video for the children to watch and the take care of everything. They have a bin for the presents and coats. They took inventory of all the goodie bags and cups and candies i brought in.

They escorted us in to the first play room which was amazing. Everything was clean and functional. Nothing broken. after about 30– 45 minutes they brought us in to the next play room which was huge. All the adults played with the children in the bouncy games. No one was left out! Lol them later on they had his birthday room set up. They had me hold my son back so he could make a special entrance while his friends cheered him on.
They had cake/​pizza/​juice/​soda. it was great with fun music in the background and dance videos for them to dance to. They took me to the back to make sure they set up the goody bags and cups to my liking.
After that the handed out the HUGE inflatable hammers and the masks i bought and the cake. They sang happy birthday and we all had a blast. After the party ended we paid up. Now for an extra 20 $ They give you the photos taken by the staff with their cameras which is great! Some amazing pictures.
A great experience, very attentive and patient staff and a clean environment.

Took my 4 yo today as was quite disappointed. Most bounce equipment is run down and just beat. There were young people working the rooms (not sure if high school or college age) and they were all socializing and not paying much attention at all to what was going on and not at all making sure the kids were playing safely. Didn’t appreciate that very much at all. The time was supposed to be separated between two rooms — 45 min in each room. Turned out to be a full hour in first room, and only 30 min in 2^nd room — all because the workers were so busy talking to each other, laughing and socializing, they didn’t even notice the time !!! WILL NOT EVER GO BACK THERE AGAIN. It’s clear to me that Bounce Safari in Waldwick is tremendously better than this place.

I CAN NOT EMPHASIZE ENOUGH TO PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DOUBLE CHECK YOUR BILL at the end of your party so they don’t charge you for children that shouldn’t be included. Have someone count for you if you are too busy (as all party moms are). I LOVED this place, the activities were loved by kids and adults (adults probably more so lol) The helpers were so attentive and hands on, I can not say enough nice things about Brian (one of my party helpers) he literally made my job so easy and care free. He was on top of every detail and made sure everyone was good. The transition from room to room was smooth and I LOVED how they make the party kid have a special entrance. The only thing that I didn’t like that was that they charged me for 2 additional kids which weren’t supposed to since they were not above the required height. I’m glad I read a review on that here so I’m returning the favor to other parents. They refunded us the $ 40 at the end but still not cool especially since I was all over the place lol

My nephew Mason’s Birthday party was there last night and we all had an amazing time. Erica at the cashier was ver nice and had great customer service when we questioned anything. The girls that took care of us were Angela, Jamie and lisa. They always had a smile and made the party so much fun. I would recommend this place for parties.

Looks like this location is running a scam during final payment time. I had a feeling I was overcharged at the time of final transaction, and «to save me money on extra kids» I was bumped into the next price package. The staff counted newborns in car seats, and when I mentioned that they shouldn’t be added to the count at all, they «subtracted» them, but the final count still felt like too many. After the event, I asked numerous times to send me a list the venue had as attending, so that I could reconcile with my list. About 7 emails and 3 phone calls over the period of 2 months yielded no reply, which makes me think it’s a common practice. If you are going to book your party here, instead of relaxing and enjoying your time with kids I suggest you have a tight count on the guests attending. It’s a shame really, because otherwise the party was pretty good and kids had fun.
One note on adult food — coffee wasn’t ready for at least half of the «food time», and since it was a 9am party, adults were getting grumpy. When it finally came out, there was no milk, just creamers, and a lot of folks are allergic to creamers. Repeatedly asking for milk (and not taking no for an answer) yielded an open carton from a previous party, which was a day prior. Not ideal.
We added an extra photo package — what can I say — you get what you pay for. It’s fun to get these moments captured if you are not taking pics yourself, but they are really REALLY terrible quality.
We had to move the party as my son got sick. The brochure they sent in the mail mentions that the venue allows for a one time move in case the birthday child gets sick, which is very nice. However, to get the party moved took a lot of phone calls back and forth, and asking the staff to familiarize themselves with their own policy, as they were holding me on stand by for good 12 hours before confirming that they can move it, which resulted in me telling my guests about the move with a very short notice. They were also «very booked» for the next 2 months (which is the max time for rescheduling), giving me the most inconvenient times, which also sounds like a practice. It did work out at the end, because we were there as the first party at 9am, and at least there was a hope of the venue being clean from the night before, as I didn’t see them clean the rooms between parties, which are back to back.
Overall, kids and adults had fun in the bounce rooms, the incident with coffee is upsetting, given the prices this place charges for food, and the possibility of being overcharged, with the venue not being proactive about resolving the situation, has unfortunately ruined the experience. Sad.

Came here a few weeks ago for a birthday party. The attractions seemed all too similar. For example, the first room has a slide and voice house with some other stuff for the kids, and the second room had a slide and bounce house with some other stuff too. Also, there is almost nothing for the adults to do in the first room (not even enough seats). The second room was a lot better.
The food and service is where it all changes. First off, the service was excellent. The hosts were friendly and communicated with the children and adults well. The food was delicious and so was the cake (it was an ice cream cake). They even had foreign food, which was good.
Overall, it was an amazing place for the little ones, and an ok for the adults and older kids.

Well oiled machine. This place knows how to get the kids in, have a blast and get them out. They do party after party and I haven’t been to one once where it didn’t seem as if it all went off seamlessly. I had my son’s 3^rd birthday party there and then went 2 more weekends in a row for his friends’ parties. They keep the place very clean. They have monitors in every room and every section making sure kids are having fun but being safe. The offer a full menu of options and add-​ons for birthday parties and were even able to accommodate me when I requested a second cake the day of my son’s birthday. They have an arrangement with one or two local pizzeria’s and the food comes in hot. They gave ton’s of options and the food was great. They also offer open play times and special events when kids are out of school, themed days, night bounces and more. You can call ahead and reserve a spot so you never have to worry if you will or won’t get in to those events. They also offer special opportunities and programs for kids with special needs. I think that is wonderful. They are constantly upgrading and changing things out so if you go today and then go back a month later your kids will not be bored. Thanks for making my son’s birthday a blast.

We’ve been to this Bounce U probably ten times. It’s only 15 minutes from NYC, it’s inexpensive and it’s the perfect spot for our wild child to jump around. Best part for my family is they have something called ‘preschool play date’ every weekday morning 10 – 11:30, which is specifically for kids under 6. So if another kid is going to land on yours, at least they’re only 6 or under. Bouncy houses kind of scare me, so we only go to ones with separate times for younger kids. We’ve been to several different facilities and never seen or had an accident. (fingers crossed). This particular Bounce U in Paramus updates their equipment regularly so there is often a new house, castle or obstacle course to jump through. It’s also very clean. And the people who work there are super friendly and helpful.
What I love most is parents are encouraged to play and get physical with their kids. Bounce U has location throughout the US. Hours vary but they typically offer bounce times daily 9am-​9pm. Costs $ 11.95/child, free for parents. Bring socks!

We come here a lot for parties and its usually a great experience for the kids. Then I got an email about a cosmic bounce with Pizza. The ad said two slices per kid. I know I’m nick picking but the kids only got one slice each. I had a 9 year old and a 12 year old, you pay extra money enough for a large pie per kid so the lack of more pizza was just cheap. I hope when they give you a promotion saying something they back it up. When I asked the kids they just said this is all we have.

Let me first start out by saying that my son had a wonderful time here. The staff was very friendly and professional. However, we did have an issue when it came to payment. We were supposed to receive a certain discounts and coupons for being a part of a Toys «R» Us membership. The manager even said to me that he remembered I was supposed to get a discount but couldn’t do it because the owner was not present when my sons party took place. After several attempts to contact the owner I have not received a phone call back and it has been a month. If you were going to book a party here or receive any kind of bonuses, make sure you get it first.

This is my second party and I have to say how utterly disappointed I was. While the actual party with the bouncing was fine and the kids had a great time, it was when we went in for the food portion of the party did things begin to unravel. Apparently they forgot to order the adult food for the party. This was around dinner time and everyone was hungry. I was embarressed. And because they make you order from them with no outside food, I was stuck. They kept telling us 5 more minutes, 5 more minutes, but when you only have a half hour, that’s a lot. Finally, the food came in, one by one by one. It was atrocious. And even then NOT ALL THE FOOD CAME. I felt horrible for my guests, they were so hungry and when each dish arrived they were like wild dogs scrambling. And then when the final sandwich tray came, it was DISGUSTING. The wraps were messy and all dried out. A person picked one up and it fell apart. Yes, they gave me the sandwich platter for free in the end, but I would never pay for such crap!
They spoke to me like I was a child, and when I spoke back to them as if they were adults, they were «insulted.» The people who work there are children who think if they dangle a free party favor in front of you, it will make everything better. I wasted 20 minutes of my half hour of «food time» finding out where the food was and then dealing with their child-​ish manager.
For an $ 800 party, I expected a lot better service without having to worry and stress out. That’s they whole point. If your kids are still at the right age, I recommend the little gym in englewood. HIGHLY recommend that place, and I regret not going there myself.
Save yourself the aggrevation.

We celebrated our son’s 3^rd birthday at Bounce U Paramus today. Everything was flawless! We didn’t have to worry about any of the party planning details. The price of the party included food, drinks, cake (which we were able to customize with a Thomas the Train theme free of charge), and even favors. Definitely worth it! I was a little nervous when I saw how young the staff was, but ended up being totally blown away with how sweet and kind and professional they were with the kids. Matt even helped my son when he was too scared to go down the slide! The party was so worth it. Will definitely be recommending this place to friends. Thanks for everything, Bounce U!

Was there today with my 2.5 year old for free bounce and was pleasantly suprised! For $ 12 she got to play in the big bouncy things for a little less then 1.5 hrs, reason I say a little less is bc at 3:30 they make you sit and watch a safety video for a few minutes then go in and take shoes and coats off. Then the kids go in and play between two huge rooms with different types of bouncy toys including giant slides, climbing walls, a sports field, obstical course and other bouncy things. There are also various sports games to play such as tee ball, ski ball, basket ball, a foot ball throw and some other stuff. The staff is very interactive with the kids and helped them to get up the hard parts of the rides. It was hectic with 3 other kids there I could imagine a whole room of them at the same time! My daughter had a lot of fun and I was happy that as a parent I could also enjoy the fun with her and go on the bouncers as well and closely supervise her as she’s still little… They ended a little early I noticed though but that’s okay because at that point my daughter was pooped, as was I. I would definitely
Consider having a birthday party for my daughter there as the party packages and party prices were great!

An absolute train wreck. We were there for a birthday party. The whole thing from start to finish was horrible and got worse with each room.
The place was easily 85 degrees inside and when we asked if they could make it cooler they said «we don’t know how to do that.».
The first room is really small for 20 kids and 20+ adults. The lights were kept off which makes it almost impossible to see around you. There is a bench for adults to sit on but you can only see one slide and if your kid is across the room it’s too dark to be able to see them from here. When asked if they could turn the lights on they said «it’s supposed to look like this.»
The second room (also dark) was much larger and had a huge bounce house type thing with various balls in it. One of the staff started a dodgeball game (these were 3 – 6 year olds) which led to the older kids whipping the balls outside the jump area; hitting kids and parents in the process. The staff did nothing. A few parents finally told the kids to cut it out. It should be the parents responsibility to control their own children but when they don’t the staff needs to step in. Again, since it was so dark you couldn’t see the kids throwing the balls out of the pit until after they hit someone.
The staff was horrible. One girl (Ashley) kept screaming about the next activity and NEVER smiled. They were unorganized in the party room. A few kids had to ask for plates and cups. They gave the kids a choice between ice tea (?) and juice. I asked for bottled water for the kids and was told «there are vending machines out in the lobby.» The finally produced a few bottles of water but the kids had to basically beg for any of it.
There is ONE stall in the bathroom. ONE. How does a place that caters to kids only have one stall???
I will never attend an event here again!

Been to pre-​school bounce a few times this summer. The staff is really outstanding. So helpful and sweet with the kids. Place is clean and for $ 11 for 1.5 hours– you can’t beat it.
Will totally be having a birthday party here in the future.

Held my sons 6^th birthday party here. All of the kids had a blast! The team is awesome and great with kids. They were very thoughtful and careful about my sons food allergies. Great Place.

I appreciate your reply. At least that means you care about how your customers think about your business and hopefully you will be able to improve your customer service.
First of all, I totally understand that kids can get wild when they play and it is your staff’s responsibility to make sure that they are safe. No doubt about that. However, there is no need to be so harsh on them. They are here to play and have fun and not to be terrified. Your staff does not need to yell and scream at them and make them cry. They can be more friendly. I did not see the screaming coming from the boy attendant, only that girl was screaming at the kids.
Secondly, Let me clarify something.
1) We DID NOT yanked the ceiling decoration from the ceiling. It WAS on the floor.
2) SEVERAL means MORE than 2 times. Your girl attendant only asked us ONCE and my husband had said that he would give it back to her in a little while, just because we know how the baby would react if we just yank it away from him, like your manager did. Just give us a little time to distract the baby.
3) We DID NOT refuse to return the decoration. We will give it back BEFORE we leave the premise. Your manager walked over and asked if we took the decoration and couldn’t even wait for us to distract the baby so that we can take it back from him. She just snatched it off from him. We WERE still in the lobby. We DID NOT walked off with your decoration. Why did she have to be so rude and nasty to yank it off from a baby like that. He was crying like crazy. Is that necessary? TO A BABY!!! We WILL give it back, can she wait? What’s the hurry? It’s really no big deal.
I have been to many bouncing places and I have never had such an unhappy experience. I love bounce U and I hope to see improvement.

This place gets 4 stars cause the kiddo thought it rocked and the staff is awesome.
My husband and I took our two year old here and she had a blast. We went on a Tuesday for open bounce family night. The 2 hours is broken up between 2 room– you spend the first hour in the first room, then switch to the other room for the remainder. My daughter was hesitant to get involved at first but the girls working that night did a great job with making her feel welcome and excited to bounce. They were excellent with all the kids there.
My husband and I had to literally drag my daughter out of there after the 2 hours.
Word of advise… Make sure you wear layers so that you can take clothes off as need be. It’s really hot in there! Also, bring a pair of socks even if you don’t plan on bouncing. I threw a pair in my purse even though I didn’t think i was gonna bounce and I’m glad I did because I couldn’t resist playing basketball in the pen. I felt like lebron James :)
