The store is intended to be the first U.S. showcase for products by small and medium-sized Korean manufacturers — companies hoping to gain a foothold in the U.S. market.
The Korean Small and Medium Business Administration, an agency of the Korean government, created the store both as a way to familiarize U.S. shoppers with Korean products, and to show mass-market U.S. retailers — such as Costco, Walmart or Target — how the products can be displayed and sold to Americans.
The products in the store range from an electronic bidet seat for $ 499 and a business card-sized walkie-talkie system for $ 194.99, to $ 10 aromatic foot patches that purportedly draw toxins out of the body and promote health.
