LaVi Nails

I decided to go here since its the only nail salon at Garden State Plaza and I was in need to get my nails done. I walked in and the place was crowded, an employee asked me what I wanted done minutes after standing in front of the reception desk. She told me to pick out a color and I waited nearly an HOUR! I honestly think they forgot I was even there. I had to go up to them and ask how much longer it would be, I was told to sit at one of the tables and there I had to wait even more. Finally an employee came and started working on my nails. I forgot the name of the guy who did my nails, he was the only guy working there. He made everything I little better at the end. He apologized for having me wait so long, and kept me laughing the whole time I was there.
Although I had such a bad experience with the wait time the first time I was there, I wanted to go back just because of the excellent job the guy did the first time. Unfortunately he wasn’t there when I went back for a fill in. A lady did my nails (I think shes the manager) she was rushing through my nails, she didn’t care how my nails looked, I was charged extra for shaping my nails (I never heard of such thing) and I’ve been to many nail salons in the past. I sat at the dryer for awhile to make sure my nails really were dry before i left. Minutes later walking around the mall i realized 3 of my nails were ruined. I had to go back and get them fixed and sit there for even longer. You can tell that they only care about how much customers they can squeeze in. If you don’t want to sit down for hours waiting to get your nails done and then get a rushed job done, don’t come here because that’s what you are going to get.
The location is convenient, the place is really nicely decorated, and clean but i’ll rather stick to my nail salon in my town then go here.

Love it here, always get a mani pedi gel nails, super quick and efficient and the seats massage you while you wait!
Went in here last week and the service was shocking so I’ve changed my star from four to two. Four of my nails have chipped in between having a couple of other issues at this place. I contacted the manager who has read my message but still hasn’t got back to me.
Don’t go here, they don’t care about their customers only how many people they can squeeze in. My nails are a disgrace and I paid $ 70 and then the tip! If I could leave zero starts I would and I will never be back.

I came here because of convenience since it’s located right inside of the mall and there’s no other nail salons in Garden State Plaza except this one.
I should’ve known as soon as I saw them putting thinner into the polish that my nails were going to chip. This kind of practice is definitely frowned upon, as thinner makes the polish chip easily but is done to conserve money so that they don’t have to replace older polishes.
After lasting a total of 24 hours, I vowed I wouldn’t come here again despite the convenience.

This place was okay, I guess. No one greeted me when I came in… or after I picked out my polish color… or after I wandered around looking for someone to acknowledge me. Eventually I just told someone giving a client a manicure that I needed a pedicure and she told me to go sit in the chair as if I should have known to go straight over there. Sorry!
The pedicure was fine, nothing special. It probably varies quite a bit between technicians. The woman who did my pedicure did not say a word to me. She sat down and got to work. Kind of uncomfortable, but I don’t like small talk anyway so I got over it.
The fans for drying the polish did not seem to be working, or maybe I was doing something wrong (I flipped the switch to «on» and nothing happened) but either way no one could be bothered to help me. The woman who had done my pedicure rushed off to do someone else’s manicure. I decided to just leave and had to practically beg them to let me pay.
Yet another nail salon where it’s run like a factory (they want you in and out of the chair as fast as possible). Customer service isn’t their thing.
I’d return if I was in the mall and needed a quick mani or pedi out of convenience, but would not make a special trip here. Very clean place with lots of comfy massage chairs at the pedicure station. They have a lot of polish colors, especially gel colors, so it might be a good place for a quick gel manicure.

Just visited their new location in fair lawn, off of 208 north. Not impressed honestly. I’ll stick to my regular spot in TOTOWA. The girl that did my meni/​pedi did ok, she cut me by accident. If I’m desperate one day, maybe I’ll go back, but prob won’t. I really wish they did a better job for the price I payed. It’s a beautiful salon though…

Got my nails done with Don, and he did an amazing job! So nice and pays attention to detail. I will definitely be going back. I had my nails done with Mary the time before and it’s like going to 2 different nail salons. Sticking with Don only from now.

OMG Where do I begin, I started coming here about 2 years ago and would make occasional stops in between for acrylics. First long «stiletto» styled nail I got was beautiful, THEN. I went for a fill. About a week late I broke my nail and came in for a fix. After it was finished I took a look at my ring finger and saw that my nail was literally pointing upwards towards the sky and no going straight along with my finger. I asked the Lady to fix it and she pretended she couldn’t speak english. I tried it one more time after I had a bad run in and had 5 broken nails, Instead of soaking them in acetone this lady RIPPED OFF MY NAILS ONE BY ONE WITH A NAIL CLIPPER. Unbeknownst to me I thought this was the proper way «Even though I was screaming in pain, I was told never to come back here again after they did that to me. Beware Ladies and Gents and do not EVER get any tips of nail acrylics/​Gel set here.

This place will ruin your nails. They don’t remove gel color properly like other salons would with acetone and foil wrap. Instead they use the machine file for everything and file down your nails to almost nothing. I went for acrylic fill in and the lady filed them down so much that it was painful and when j got them removed I almost had nothing left of my real nail. This place only cares about getting in the most customers, doing things quickly, while being super messy, and yes the people who work here and pretty rude.

Place looks brand new and beautiful but my pedicure was awful. The woman barely did any cleaning. I was there for maybe a half hour and she did nothing but soak my feet, wipe my old nail polish off, file my toes, and paint them. I usually come home to nice smooth exfoliated and soft feet but today they were just painted. Disappointed in the service.

This place looks awesome from the outside; definitely will draw you in like it did to me. I came on a Friday afternoon for a mani/​pedi. It was busy but I didn’t have to wait. Nice ambiance, cool décor, CLEAN, good color selection and KIND OF friendly staff. The lady that did my pedicure was great. The lady that did my manicure was O — K. My pedicure must have taken 25 minutes, while my manicure was 10 minutes. The manicurist was very straight to the point, didn’t even say hi when I sat at her station, and what did surprise me was she didn’t use lotion to do the usual hand moisturizing part, which I thought was a standard step to a manicure. Anyhow, I particularly like to have my «take your time spots» and «quick spots» and for me this is definitely a «I-​am-​shopping-​in-​the-​mall-​for-​an-​outfit-​for-​tonight, let-​me-​get-​a-​quick-​mani/​ped-​kind-​of-​place».
Overall for a $ 32 mani/​pedi you can go elsewhere.

Half-​ass job for a $ 25 pedicure. Nothing special. I was expecting at least a hot stone massage and parafin. I should’ve just gone to the nail salon I always go to. Never coming back here again.

I sat for about 20 minutes before anyone acknowledged me. My nail tech rushed through it, and I had to tell her several times to cut hangnails and push back my cuticles. The pedicure was the worst I have ever had; the chair was fantastic but she barely scrubbed the roughness off. Very little hand or foot massage. The only reason I would come back is because of the hours– maybe.

Nail salon was very nice, however the lady that did my nails was not so nice. She didn’t say much barely said sorry when she hurt me and wasn’t friendly at all. However she did a really nice job with my shape and polish. Sadly the gel that I got on top of the color has wrinkles all over it and I don’t know why.

I really like this place but I have a few bones to pick. I go here to get my nails done occasionally because it’s convenient and fast. There are a lot of nail techs and even though it’s usually very busy they are able to sit you down quite quickly. I usually do acrylics or UV gels and they come out quite nicely and are incredibly long lasting. The prices are also great and you get what you pay for. However, I’ve been to this place on a Monday morning when they are just opening after the weekend and closed Sunday, and on several occasions it’s been quite a mess. I wouldn’t get a pedicure there because on a Monday they are still cleaning up wet dirty towels from Saturday night that are prone to mildew and pouring bleach in the pedicure tubs and wiping down the stations. I understand it’s a nail salon that’s very busy and open late hours but to me cleanliness and sterilization in a salon is extremely important and you are putting clients in danger of contracting diseases. Another thing is they are nice and friendly but I feel like it’s a little too rushed. Usually when your nails are drying at most salons I’ve been at they’ll give you a back or neck massage and they don’t do that at LaVi. Even on days like a Monday or Tuesday morning when it’s basically empty the customer service is not up to par. All in all, this is a great salon that you can be in and out of with a mani pedi that looks great in less than an hour. If you are seeking a luxurious experience where you want to sit back and relax while being pampered, then this is NOT the place.

I was here visiting from Philadelphia and had to make a stop at the mall. Looking down at my bags I realized I still had forgotten to get a manicure and then I stumbled upon La-​Vi Nails. Place is clean and pretty open. Service was friendly and even though they werent busy– they were efficient. I didn’t get a full hand massage, but nor was I expecting one for a $ 10 manicure. I did express interest in a ‘special’ brand of polish after my mani was already started but it was $ 4.00 more (after I asked). No thanks.
So, I got my basic manicure, with basic polish, got basic service. Not bad, not great, but certainly not horrible. I’m between 2 – 3 stars so I’m opting for 2 because all manicures deserve a bit of attention in the form of a massage.
Not sure why everyone is saying this place is so horrible– it’s not a Four Seasons Spa, its a nail salon in a mall for crying out loud. What do you expect?

I’m being generous by giving them one star. I was waiting for about thirty minutes, got skipped plenty of times and was told to sit in a seat and no one came so I sat there for another 20 minutes I was completely ignored. This place is a joke and they know nothing about customer service. Horrible place. I will never return.

I have been going here for almost a year and I have to say I have yet to be disappointed. Don, my nail tech, always does an excellent job and honors all my requests. I constantly get compliments on my nails. I agree with others, that the prices are a bit up there but honestly you get what you pay for I feel it’s 100% worth the price here.
The same goes for their pedicures. They’re extremely sanitary and always do an excellent job.
The late hours are Definitely also a plus.

I’m not sure why there are so many negative reviews, because there were a ton of people in there that all seemed to be regulars.
I stopped in here out of convenience, since I was at the mall and have a lot of running around to do today, decided to try this place for a quick gel mani despite the bad reviews.
As soon as I walked in someone sat me down and I didn’t have to wait at all. The woman, Alba, was very nice and did a great job. I would definitely come back again when I can’t get to my regular salon.

Stopped in late Friday night with my daughter. I had to get my gel fills done and she wanted a full set. The girls where able to take us right away. Initially they tried to sit us apart form each other but after a little fussing they seated my daughter next to me. The girls worked very quickly and seemed to know what they were doing. My fills were done thinner then I used to; not really sure if that is good or bad. My daughter had her nails done with a different color on every nail and I had the permanent French. I would say my nails come out good but really could have used a little more filing to shape them batter and not have sharp corners. I will probably come here again due to convenience but I was not amazed. I may have given this place 4 stars if the nail techs spoke English and were more friendly. One of the girls ran out the door when she finished my nails; guess it was the end of her shift but still I felt like she ran away.

Horrible service. I wanted to get a mani-​pedi and try gel nails for the first time. Staff were rolling their eyes at me when I was telling them I wanted to try gel nails (first time here) and that I’m supposed to tell them it’s the shellac kind and not UV. The lady who did my pedi was so unprofessional and she kept giving me frustrated looks. She even said she doesn’t understand and didn’t even apologize. I wanted to walk out right there and then but finished the pedi and didn’t even bother with getting my manicure done. Worst experience ever.
Def WILL NOT recommend! AVOID!
