Scotch & Soda

Love this store! Workers are always friendly! They Greg you as they see you looking around. Very nice the workers are not pushy and always willing to help you find new sizes. I have always had good experiences in this store. I have bought many pieces of clothing I would never be able to find anywhere else.

I’ve always liked Scotch and Soda’s clothes, but I had a bad experience at the store at the Garden State Plaza. There was a security tag on the shirt I was buying and the girl checking us out couldn’t get the tag off. She kept banging the security tag against the machine. The manager came over and said she would take care of it and took the shirt away. She brought it back and they rang us up. Later while we were shopping elsewhere I saw that there was a hole in the shirt where the security tag was. I brought the shirt back and they exchanged it, but I’m really shocked that they would give me a shirt they they knew they had torn. They had lots of other shirts in the back — they could have just given me one that wasn’t torn. I’ve bought clothes here three times before, but I will never buy anything from this store again. Treating customers badly is never a good idea.

The store’s design caught my eye right away. The size was also similar to that of a small boutique. It’s like a tent in the middle of all the stores. When you come in, you feel like you just went into a tent/​like another place not like the other stores. Definitely felt the European vibe with the lighting. Felt like a hidden place in the forest that one finds by accident or if there’s like a light in the sky that gives you a signal to find out what that certain thing/​place is.

As soon as I walked in, the sales associate at the register looked at me, didn’t say hi, but was busy, so that I understood. This didn’t make me feel welcome, but I know I should have said hi first. I DID greet another worker who was walking around, but he glanced at me then walked away. No one said a word to me, but the only saving grace was the manager. I was greeted appropriately and felt welcomed.

The clothes really do fit my style and come to my liking and taste. The atmosphere really drew me in and I quite liked it, but I don’t think I would like to come here again because of the employees.
