I’ve been coming here for years and never had a bad meal. In fact, if I’m not cooking my self then this where I prefer to have my meals

Clay’s presents simple, fine American fare. I got the pork chop and my wife got a steak. We had a freshly baked chocolate chip cookie for dessert. The food was good for the price. When we walked in with our young kid for dinner, we were worried that it looked too fancy, given the atmospheric lighting and table linens, but there were several other families that night, and our son was well-received by the waitstaff. The service was prompt and friendly as well.

Just finished dinner here, very very disappointed. Might be the most over priced poor tasting meal we have ever had. I hardly ever write bad reviews, but I can not let this pass. I will never ever go here again.

Go to Paris Kentucky twice a year and this is one of our favorite restaurants even compared to similar in our home town. The menu is artisan but great options for all. Last night the sirloin topped with crab cake was Devine, the crab cake was not all bread, it was excellent. Had two kids with us and the pasta they had was great. Excellent prices and the service from Frank and family and all others made us feel right at home. Also good wine options.

A good, decent restaurant in downtown Paris on Main St. Prices are very reasonable(below $ 15) and the food tastes above average. A great patio exists if you want to sit outside. My server was extremely friendly, attentive and super. It really is small town hospitality at its finest. Plan on staying a while to enjoy the beautiful and historic downtown.

The service was great, our server was a really nice guy and very attentive. However we were charged $ 2 extra to add grilled onions to a hamburger(this came from the kitchen) and the prime rib tasted like it had been sitting around a while.

The place is very lovely and seems high end. Be prepared for upper moderate prices. Some stuff is rather expensive, while others are affordable. The service is wonderful. The atmosphere I gorgeous and dapper. You know you’re in kentucky with the beautiful decoration and low lighting. Positioned on the corner on main street, it is a lovely sight for the eyes in every meaning, and also a lovely sensation for your taste buds. The chef has nothing but the freshest and best of ingredients the world has to offer. I’ve had fish there that the chef told me was swimming off the coast of Argentina three days ago. Again very artisan, fresh foods. As that sweet tea is screaming southern. Definitely a place to stop and eat if you’re a tourist. And if you’re a local like me, when you’ve got some cash to treat you and another with, it is a great place to go on a Friday night. Especially with date night, as occasional live music on the outside seating to the right of the establishment really sets the mood!

I would love to write a review of my dining experience here, but we couldn’t get a seat. Granted, we were there on a fairly busy Friday night, but there were several empty, uncleaned tables. After we gave our name to be put in line for an available table, we stood awkwardly by the barrel, near the bar. We waited at least 10 – 15 minutes and still, empty unbused tables were all around. I guess you have to be a local to get a table at this place… Never mind.

Always a good place to meet friends for dinner or lunch. Food is consistent and fresh. Vegetarian meals Friendly service. Great location. It’s a favorite among the locals. Highly likely you’ll spot one of the famous Kentucky breeders eating a fat steak and holding court at the bar! A definite must if visiting Paris!

The first time I went to Clays I only had a drink but it was a great one! It was their Maker’s Sweet Tea and it was delicious! The second time I went there was with a group of 22 friends. We had called ahead so they were ready for us. We had very fast service and the food was great! I had crab cakes and they melted in my mouth! I am looking forward to going back, hopefully soon!

To start off with, I only got drinks at this place. But I was so thrilled to find this locally owned«gem» in Paris, KY that I had to give it four stars. The drink selection was excellent and the drinks were nice and strong without seeming cheap. We sat outside on the patio(not the most attractive place but it was a beautiful day) to have some drinks before a wedding we were attending. The waiter was super attentive and extremely helpful. He checked in on us several times and finally brought a basket of excellent bread for us to share since we were just having drinks. I’m not in the area of Paris, KY often, but if I go back I definitely plan to spend some more time at Clay’s!

My family and I eat here often. The food is always great. There are those who feel it’s too expensive, however you will not spend anymore in a comparable restaurant in bigger cities. Besides you get what you pay for

The steak was decent, and the beer selection is good. Disappointed that they don’t have fresh ground pepper. Otherwise good.

The best thing about Clay’s is the food. Everything was delicious from the french onion soup, sweet potato fries to the burger. The place was packed on a Friday night and we were expecting to wait a long time for our food, but everything arrived timely and hot. It did take a few minutes to get seated and get drinks, but our waitress was very apologetic and personable. I can’t wait to go back and try some other things on their menu. If you are in Paris, be sure to give them a try. Prices are very reasonable.
