Park Forest Public Library

I grew up with PFPL and when I walk in there now it almost makes me want to cry. WHERE ARE THE BOOKS? They weeded the collection down to almost nothing. What used to fill a big portion of the main room with non-​fiction, and the 2^nd room with fiction now fits on just a few shelves in the main room. 2^nd room is now for kids and who knows what they have done with the southwest room that used to be kids. (And I go back far enough to remember when what I am calling the main room was a new addition.)
Yes, I know libraries have to adapt to the times and now offer computer access, movies, etc. but the heart of all libraries must be the book collection and what you folks have done with yours fills me with sadness.
Which idiot ordered the disposal of 75% of the book collection?
Thus it pains me greatly to post this review but someone needs to speak up. I treasure my library card but mostly because it gives me access to other libraries.
And for the benefit of others I should explain that your card from any library on the Metropolitan Library System gives you direct access to nearly every public library from the Indiana line clockwise up to approximately Elmhurst. Just walk in, select a book, and check out like anyone who lives there. Just check the *MLS site to make sure they are on the same system.
Other libraries in the area will grant you reciprocal borrowing privileges by registering with them; they will have you fill out a form, verify your ID, scan your MLS card and then you can borrow most materials on that very same card. Chicago PL too although they will issue their own card.
