Good price and not too crowded. We came on Saturday afternoon around 4:30 and had no problem finding a spot. We were able to practice putting too.

I was here with a friend to use the MIni Golf course. Prices were VERY relatively reasonable at $ 7 a game on the adult course(versus $ 9 at novelty golf), and for hitting the course at 3pm on a Saturday I was A-OK with absolutely no course wait. There is also a second kids course for a cheaper rate. The course is spacious, the facilities are clean, and there are vending machines and a water fountain. The one drawback was the number of water traps and posted signs to not retrieve your balls. The water is chemically managed and so dark you can’t see your balls once they go in so no point in even trying. My friend lost their ball and we lost some of our momentum having to go back to the office to get a second ball, and then walk back to our spot on the course. The course holes were straightfoward, with no real hitting obstacles. The course was deceptively smooth in places it actually was not so it may be hard to guage your stroke at times. I’d come here again, but this course doesn’t even begin to enter the top 10 favorite mini golf courses I’ve played over my years.

Why do I go to the Oakton Driving range? It’s close, it’s cheap and the people who work there are wonderful. The bad: Mats: No matter what condition they’re in, I hate hitting off mats. They eventually ruin your clubs and it’s hard to get an accurate read of your shots. The Putting Green: The putting green is totally useless. It’s faster than any course I ever played. It’s like putting on ice. Don’t use it unless you want to hit every putt 10 ft. short on your next round. The Good: Oakton is reasonably priced. You can hit 180 balls for $ 12.00. They also have a special where you can hit unlimited balls for $ 15.00 on Monday afternoon. The Balls: The condition of the range balls are far superior to any other range I have visited. I have been at ranges where the balls are without dimples. It’s like trying to hit a Cue ball. The People: The staff at Oakton is wonderful. They are always there to answer a question or help you with an issue. The bottom line is, Oakton is a inexpensive way to work on your game. Just stay off the putting green. That thing will set your game back 10 years.
