Guitar lessons, bass lessons, voice lessons, piano lessons, ukulele lessons, cello lessons. Recording, music production. Special interest workshops, high school vocal audition preparation.
I signed up for voice lessons with Rebecca, and so far they have been exhilarating. I am not a professional musician(school teacher), but like to take lessons every now & then(instrumental mostly). This is the first time I have studied voice, and it has been an excellent experience thus far. Rebecca is a passionate & talented musician & singer, & she has the same passion for teaching others(not always the case). She made me feel comfortable immediately, and relieved my fear of making mistakes. The studio is fairly new, very clean, and well-appointed. I have seen other teachers there with child students & have been impressed with how warm & open all the teachers seem to be. I think anybody, child or adult, would have a positive learning experience at this studio.

I’ve attended a couple events at Acme Hall, and also visited to watch a friend’s band record there with Rich. I love the place. It’s a great space, relaxed and understated and stylish(as are the owners) and most importantly it’s tricked out perfectly to focus on the music. I look forward to taking lessons there one day!

My rock and roll band, The Royal Panics, had a last minute NYC connection pretty high up at a ‘Major Label’ who wanted to hear some polished recordings of our newest catchy rock and roll tunes. It turnt out our bass player had a booking at his Manhattan modeling agency for a week in July. My drummer and I, being of the more conservative ilk, gently asked our places of full time employment if we could take a few days off aligned with Bass Player Model’s schedule. I reached out to Acme Hall Studios — mind you, it was an ask of very quick proportions — to see if they could squeeze us in for 4 days to track some of the amazing pop rock lullabies as a professional recording to give to the ‘Major Label’ for their ludicrous movie soundtrack demands, etc. Rich, the producer and curator at the studio, agreed to bump a few folks from their busy schedule to accommodate our available dates. The band arrived around 11am on a Thursday after acquiring a bagel and coffee(two things San Francisco does rather mediocridly… I made that word up) and wow: I could not believe the space. The control room sounded great. The live drum room — though smaller — managed to have enough reverberation to beckon Xenu. We tracked 5 songs over the course of 3 days and, regardless of the band’s mental state due to modeling demands or alcoholic intake, the tones achieved were nothing less than amazing. Rich captured the spirit of our 3 piece juggernaut in frightening detail. We’ll be back, and we’ll bring more posse.
