This is one of the best Sichuan places in NYC. Don’t be fooled by the nice but generic décor, it’s one of the most authentic spicy Chinese food places around. Try the double cooked pork, hot pepper style beef, pea shoots and any of the spicy fish dishes. Having lived in China for a few years I developed a taste for nuanced spicy food outside of what you usually get in American Chinese places. After searching long and hard for good Sichuan and Hunan, this place rivals bay ridge and flushing. Most manhattan spicy Chinese is fake, this is the real deal.

I was a loyal customer until today. The restaurant forgot half of my order and when I called to ask them to send it out I was told very rudely that«they were so busy» and they would figure out what happened and call me back. 20 minutes later, no call. I had to call back and ask what was happening. I was then told they could send it out but it would take an hour. The woman on the phone asked if I «understood how busy they were?» when I asked why they couldn’t send out the rest of my order sooner. There was no apology. In fact, the woman then told me it «wasn’t her problem» and then refused to send me the rest of my order. I cannot understand how someone in the service industry could be so rude to paying customers. The worst part is, I love their food and this is always my first choice for Chinese in my neighborhood. I understand that it’s a busy night — but it’s not my fault my order was messed up. A simple«sorry» would have gone a long way. I will no longer give them my business.
