Keller’s Professional Auto and Diesel

I love taking my car to Keller’s. My car was in for the 175,000 mile checkup. I was greeted with a smile and told the service on my car would take approximately 30 — 40 minutes. I explained the steering wheel had started making a noise on Thursday and was assured it would be resolved. I went across the street for breakfast and relaxed knowing I would not have to worry. When I walked back in, I was greeted again with a smile and told my car was ready and the problem with the steering wheel was the fluid was low and they had filled it. This is true customer service.

Used the $ 9.99 oil change coupon and had zero issues. The staff was nice and the service was quick. I always schedule appointments, but if you don’t I would imagine your wait would be awhile, they seem pretty busy.
Speaking only to my oil change I thought it was a fine shop.

I received an email reminder with a blowout oil change price of $ 9.99 took my car in a left if for them to «get to it» and it was done in just a couple hours!!! Fast easy and really nice guys at the front.

I just moved here from Washington state and was nervous to find a new mechanic and I needed the 60k service done to my car. I was referred to Keller’s from the gentleman I bought my snow tires from. Everyone I talked to at Keller’s was professional and friendly. When I dropped my car off, I mentioned a noise I was concerned about and they had someone ride along with me in the car to listen to it. I knew from previous quotes that the service could be anywhere from $ 100 – 350. Keller’s came in way under, even with an oil change. Very impressed and I will be sure to go back to them again.

I called Monday to make an appointment to get an estimate on a car repair. I was told no problem, Thursday morning. Any certain time, I asked? No, just as early as possible, they open at 7. It snowed over night, so I didn’t get here until 7:40. I was greeted nicely when I came in, but then it went down hill. I gave my name and said I had appointment. I reexplained the issue I’m having with my car, and the guy seemed to get irritated. It is an intermittent problem and the guy seemed mad that I don’t know exactly what is wrong. He seemed angry that I was wasting their time and stated that if the problem I was experiencing didn’t happen when they drove it they wouldn’t be able to do anything. He said they were very busy, didn’t know when they could get to me, and it might be all morning. I was offered a loaner car, so that was nice, but I said no thanks. I waited a couple of hours, but decided that the wait and diagnostic fee, plus the attitude wasn’t worth it. In the end, I was pretty sure it was spark plugs, bought them myself and had them installed. I was right. I have had fine experiences with Keller’s in the past, but this experience really upset me.(October visit)

My wife took our Suburban there for an alignment. Apparently when women walk in they must automatically think «stupid». They said she needed $ 1200 in repairs to do the alignment. They wouldn’t give her an itemized list of what needed to be repaired. We normally go to Jacob’s Service (for 10 years) up on Parker Rd near Mississippi but because of certain time constraints we decided to give them a try. I told her to refuse the service and that we would take it to Jacobs. We did. Jacobs found a linkage that needed to be replaced but also assured us that there was nothing that needed to be done to cost us anywhere near $ 1200. We left Jacobs with a bill of $ 480– alignment included.
What upsets me the most is that Keller’s would not give a detailed estimate that I could see. I know enough about automotive work to know when someone is not telling the truth. This one event is enough for us never to return. Jacobs once told us they would rather be honest and see us return for future service rather than screw us over and never see us again.

Do not go to Keller’s. They completely tried to rip me off. After getting a quote for $ 999 for various repairs, we decided to take the car in to my dad’s mechanic for a second opinion. Guess what he charged us? Zero dollars. He said NONE of the things Keller’s said to get fixed had anything wrong with them. He adjusted a knob of some sort to fix a leak and charged us NOTHING. DO NOT go here. RIP OFF.

We think they are great. We have been going here for years. They always take good care of us — prices are fair and advice is sound. Highly recommend.

I used to feel Keller’s was reliable and trustworthy. Over the last few years, I’ve noticed that everytime I go to Keller’s they try to «upsell» me on all kinds of repairs that they insist need to be done immediately. The last time, I took my car to a different mechanic (see my 5-​star review of Pride) and was told that Keller’s was completely wrong. I followed Pride’s advice and did not fix what Keller’s said was wrong. That was 2 years ago, and the supposed «immediate» problem has never caused me any problems.

They offer great expertise. Their coupons are amazing! Just make sure you make an appointment at least a week ahead for an oil change. But everything else they can get you in right away and they have loaner vehicles. Their work has always been excellent! They treat everyone very well.
Oh, for the moms — I always walk to the library while they work on the car. You can also walk under Parker Rd. on the path to O’Brien Park.

I am in awe of how awful the service is. Two of the three times I’ve taken my car in for an oil change, I’ve walked in for my appointment, and they’ve told me that they didn’t have me on the schedule. They didn’t apologize. They just said «No. You’re not in the system» as if I inconvenienced them by even asking. The first time, I just made another appointment for later in the day, because I’d already taken the afternoon off work and I figured it wouldn’t happen again. I never have this problem with my dentist, doctor or anyone else, so I know I’m not absent-​minded. The second time they didn’t have me on the schedule, again they were rude, and so I left and got an oil change elsewhere. I won’t be returning.
