History

Established in 2007.

Commercial waterman, Anthony Conrad, and his wife, Andrea Conrad opened the market in January 2007. Anthony Conrad wanted a place to bring the crabs he was catching from his boat to a retail location. Conrad’s offers the freshest, most perfectly seasoned crabs, steamed to order always!

This place has by far the best crabs I’ve had in a long time. As a true crab conisour I’ve tasted all kinds of flavors from garlic flavor, extra rock salt salty, bland flavor and my favorite… Mildly spicy with the perfect amount of spices. Um umm good. Conrad’s has it down to a science. I make the 35 min drive clear across town just to buy these delicious crabs. The prices are reasonable and if you are a thrifty shopper, catch them on one there specials of the week to get a considerable savings. All I can say is these guys have moved from Conrad to friend status for me. Keep up the good work. Oh yeah… Did I say they catch these crabs themselves.

Our favorite crab goto. Always hot, perfectly seasoned crabs priced right. We usually call them in and they are always ready on time and hit the spot. We visit the Conrads restaurant and were naturally willing to try the market and its no disappointment. There was a special also, buy a dozen and get a half dozen free which was sweet!

Bought my first crabs in years at Conrad’s yesterday. It was $ 2/​crab medium day. They were seasoned perfectly and the sizes were on par with medium. Was extremely pleased with the purchase. Will definitely return.

$ 42 for a dozen crabs are a bit steep, but they had a special on Friday where you buy a dozen crabs and get ½ dozen free which wasn’t bad. Crabs were delicious.

Make sure u check your crabs before u leave. I ordered 2dz med. males yesterday and got home with small & med females. I called them and they r going to give me a credit. Love their seafood. Just will b checking my order before I leave from now on

Best crabs and deals around town. I took a picture of their window which shows their specials-​of-​the day and plan my weekly menu around it during the summer. When I’m gonna be home at night alone, I’ll grab a half dozen of their larges, grab a Natty Boh from my fridge, and chow down watching the game. Now you’re talking Baltimore! (Try their restaurant in Perry Hall if you’re looking for dine-​in. Same quality food — never had steamed crabs there but I know they do serve them — and a dessert display that will send your sweet-​tooth to never-​never land.)
BTW: I had a batch of bad crabs but had thrown away my receipt. When I called, they were happy to give me credit and let me come back another day. Great service — the kids work hard!

This is my favorite place to get crabs, the size is Awesome, the flavor is right on point, we’ve even ordered some and drove them to my mother in laws in Jersey and they absolutely loved them as well, as with any crab house, I suggest you call ahead, I haven’t had the fish yet but the hush puppies are tasty

I really like conrads. I love that you can call in your crab orders and ask for a designated pick up time and get HOT crabs. Prices are great. The always have these amazing weekly and monthly crab specials. Tonight I got the absolute biggest lobster roll for $ 10.99! It came with homemade chips and instead of the typical slice of toasted white bread it came on a toasted sub roll full of huge lobster chucks. Sides and salads are also tasty as well as non seafood items like wings.
This place is great. The only negative thing Id say is their crab seasoning is a lil spicer and saltier than I like. Of course their crabs are awesome despite that and I am an old bay and beer seasoning girl.

Conrad’s a bit far form where I live downtown but their crab deals are worth the trip!
I placed an order over the phone during their Tuesday $ 1 small crab special. They have a few benches outside if you want to enjoy your crabs there. We also decided to also get a dozen local oysters ($ 6.99/dz) after we arrived. Since we arrived before our pickup time, the crabs weren’t ready yet, but we only had to wait a few minutes for them to be prepared. They were fresh and had great flavor. Be aware that the spiciness does build up! Also, make sure you pickup a roll of paper to make cleanup easier!
Overall, Conrad’s $ 1 special is great and is my go-​to place for crabs (on Tuesdays specifically).

Don’t have time to get down to the Inner Harbor or stop by Faidley’s for a crabcake? No problem! Conrad’s is my go-​to spot for takeout seafood when visiting Baltimore for work.
Daily specials keep locals happy and being right around the corner from a Total Wine lets me have a relaxing evening after a busy day. Yes, their parking is limited, but simply call ahead with your order and you’ll be in and out in a jiffy.
The price is right, especially on $ 1 crab night (Tuesday)!

Often a long wait for crabs make sure you call in your order. Fresh fish and bottled beer and wine are served in this carry out spot. Dollar crab days are s hit if you don’t want to wait get them colds and keep it moving. Shrimp tacos are tasty and cheap on taco day! 3 stars due to slow service.

No problems with this place until last week. We thought we’d get some crabs for my husband’s birthday. As we started eating we noticed a mushy texture to the crab meat & some green color inside but decided to give it another chance. Bad idea!
After the fourth crab or so we started getting severe symptoms of food poisoning. Immediately went to the doctor who highly suspects that the contributor of the infection was the crabs. When we returned the crabs the manager was unapologetic and nonchalant who kept chanting «oh ok». We received a refund but it did not erase the suffering we are enduring as a result of consuming the bacteria infested crabs. I personally would not recommend this place.

I bought a bunch of seafood here for my Dad’s birthday and it was all really good. I got a dozen medium crabs for $ 48 which I think is pretty cheap, and they were substantial (half male, half females). They seemed large to me but were considered mediums, I was very impressed! And their outside seasoning of old bay was really good.;
I got a pound of their shrimp (with onions) which was also really good. I got 2 pounds of crab legs which was about 4 clusters of 4 – 5 legs each. I thought these were dried out and were not very good, I wouldn’t get these here again.
Overall, great service and the inside is super clean. All the fish seemed freshly caught, and the crabs were moving and blinking their eyes on the ice.

I’m a sucker for house made/​good seasoning instead of typical old bay and Conrads definitely has this. The prices to me seem to be a little cheaper than some of the other seafood markets in the city. But that’s just my issue. Conrads is too far from the city which forces me to limit my visits because it takes about 20 – 25 minutes to get there. I do make it my business to go regularly on $ 1 crab night (Tuesday) though.

This is one of our go to spots for cheap but delicious crabs and seafood. We frequently get their 1.00−2.00 crabs and are never let down ! They also have some great specials like fish and chips on Friday and it’s a big portion for a small price ! This is the only place I’ll eat catfish from !

I have a love/​hate relationship with Conrad’s. I love them for their fresh and reasonably priced seafood selection, but the service is hit or miss for me majority of the time.
If I purchase fresh fish, I ask for it to be scaled and gutted only. Last week I purchased two porgies and asked for it to be scaled and gutted. One fish was scaled and gutted perfectly while the other was well, take a look at the picture below.
The guy who cleaned the first fish cleaned this one as well and I honestly can’t believe you would serve someone a fish that looks like this. As a consumer who had it wrapped to go, I didn’t discover this until I was home.
In conclusion, the food is wonderful but the service can be hit or miss. I typically prefer for the men to clean my fish over the young ladies because fish that were scaled and gutted by them were almost inedible and require additional scaling (which I always do because all the scales are hardly ever removed).
