Hands down one of my favorite places to eat in sac. During my last year of college in Davis I would always try to make an excuse to drive to sac to eat at Laos kitchen. The papaya salad is bombbb and I can just eat 1 order of it myself, I usually get it with 1 pepper. The kapoon is my favorite noodle soup here, it is super rich in flavor! The kasoy is really good too and I love the different types of meat in the soup. The angel wings and the sausage is a must for an appetizer ! The service is always nice and friendly here! Honestly it is hard to find a place like Laos kitchen in SF!

The go to spot for kapoon. Nice big portions, good service, and the food is always delicious. If you are looking for kapoon this is the must try place. I’m not a huge fan of papaya salad but my friends swear by this place. I have tried to sausage and the wings are really good! No complaints

I’ve only been here once. The food is pretty good. The place is small and the parking not that great but I would eat here again.

Bomb food, I crave their Beef jerky all the time lol and the guy at the counter is always funny and upbeat. It made each of my visits pleasant every time and I mostly order takeout! I will always recommend and come back to this restaurant

Major fan! Came here during lunch with coworkers and wasn’t really sure what to expect. Boy was I pleasantly surprised by how good the food was. I had the daily lunch special which was a stuffed chicken wing, egg rolls, sausage, and sticky rice. Holy cow, I crave that stuff every day now! The inside of the restaurant is a little beat up, but the food makes everything worth it. The staff is super friendly and they laugh and joke with you and keep things fun. Thanks to my coworkers I learned how to properly eat the sticky rice(with hands only). Not much more to say other than the food was delicious. I will be coming back as soon as I possibly can!

Food is good. Kapoon is good, labb is good, papaya is good. It’s good, not the best but it’s good food. Best part is there special combo when they have it= good price. Sausage is good too! Will come again. This is a cash only place, if I remember correctly.

Finally… success! After my initial visit here to try the Laos sausage and them being out for the day, I finally arrived while the sausages were available! Mmmmmm so freaking delish! The sausages are so flavorful! The tomato based dipping sauce that accompany the sausages is amazing! I also redeemed myself with the NON spicy chicken laap! That was delish as well the mint flavor contained in the laap was a nice surprising touch of flavor!

Service was really good here, especially since we came with a really big group. I liked the papaya salad a lot since it was really spicy. The larb, sausages, and beef jerky was good with the sticky rice as well. Totally worth coming here for some authentic tasting Laos food at good prices

I can say that they do have better kasoy here than any other Lao restaurants. I used to frequent here quite often cuz my step dad would always buy food from here, but I stopped because of the weight gain lol They don’t have much of a selection, but the menu is really great for the limited of foods they have. I always order the kasoy, Medium for around $ 6 – 7, which isn’t bad at all. It’s equivalent to the price of Phở. Sometimes the broth can be a lil salty to my taste buds, but it’s still ! The Klang fen is pretty good too! I always add it into my kasoy. You should try it, if you haven’t! Lol the service isn’t all that great, and it’s in a ghetto ass hood, but it’s a must go! Yesh, it does suck that it’s cash only, but hey its an Asian restaurants lol what do you expect?

I ordered the papaya salad, chicken laab and sticky rice to go. The papaya salad wasn’t great but it wasn’t bad, either. If you’re absolutely craving for papaya salad, I guess it would work to satisfy your quench but it’s not the best. I haven’t really found a place in Sac that has bomb papaya salad yet! The chicken laab is pretty plain; I had to add salt to it for flavor, so I don’t recommend the chicken laab… the sticky rice was good and the house pepper dip is okay too-not too hot or sweet, but not too flavorful either. Overall, the food that I ordered was mediocre. I don’t highly recommend this place if you want really good southeast asian food, but if you’re craving southeast asian food and you’re short on time to go elsewhere, go ahead and give this place a try. Just avoid the chicken laab.

This place is located in a really ghetto/shady area but they make pretty good food. The BF and I got there around noon and it wasn’t so busy. Immediately we noticed cash only but luckily they directed us to an ATM machine next door. Anyways, they actually don’t have many options. It’s not listed on Unilocal but this place has Vietnamese phở on their menu too. We ended up trying the kapoon and the boat noodles. I forget which one but it was the first one on the page. Kapoon tasted awesome. I need to learn how to make that! The broth for the other noodle bowl was good but I’ve had better before. The BF also got a red sweet drink. That one had a funny taste. Not sure we’ll be ordering it again if we come back. I do like their Thai tea though. Overall, pleasant experience. I don’t mind coming back here in the future.

Came across this restaurant on a rainy day after having a sudden craving for soup. I have to say this place deserves five stars and much more. The soup was tasty, flavorful, and delicious. The portion sizes were very generous. Well worth the price, only 8 dollars. The Thai tea is also a must have! The servers were very friendly, welcoming, and accommodating. Was hesitant to try the place, but very glad we stopped by. Will definitely be returning! Just a quick tip: They only accept cash, so make sure you come prepared! If you don’t have any cash on you, there’s an ATM in the next store so no worries

I was introduced to Laos Kitchen and their Kasoy about two years ago and have been hooked ever since. The savory soup with the shrimp, pork and veggies is a must for the cold weather or just to satisfy your soup craving. This location is a hole in the wall but hey, its the inside that counts right? They only accept cash so be prepared and they only sale large soups to-go. We definitely will keep coming back as long as they don’t change a thing!

I’ve never had Laos food before so I decided to give this place a chance since it sounded amazing and it was very close by to where I was doing my clinicals for my CNA program. I’ve always heard about trying either the Kasoy or the Kapoon noodle soup which were the top two things to try for Laos food. Laos Kitchen is kinda located in a shady area with very limited parking space. The restaurant outside looks kinda rundown but the inside had a nice diner feeling to it. It was a weekday afternoon and it was not busy at all. Maybe a few customers here and there. So I came to Laos Kitchen knowing that I had 1 decision to make, and that was to either get the Kasoy or the Kapoon. Both bowls were $ 6.50 for a medium and $ 7.50 for a large. The Kasoy is flat noodles served with ground pork, tripe, shrimp, and beef balls in a savory beef broth and as for the Kapoon, it’s vermicelli noodles served with chicken and bamboo shoots in coconut red curry broth topped with shredded cabbage, bean sprouts, and mint. I ended up getting the Kapoon because I wanted a curry broth and I thought it was a little more healthier if I got chicken: P To be honest, the broth was good but I didn’t like how they gave soo much cabbage, quite a bit of noodles, and only a few pieces of chicken. I’m looking for the protein gains here, but Laos Kitchen didn’t supply me that with their Kapoon sadly :(I guess you can say I wasn’t crazy impressed with their Kapoon especially since it was my first time trying it. It was aiiiight. Hoping to give their Kasoy a try here if I am ever in the area just to see which one I think is better: P Service here was okay, they didn’t seem to really care as much especially since there was only another customer besides me… CASHONLY!

I’ve ordered takeout from here a few times, and it’s a little bit of a wait so I recommend not getting there until 20 minutes after you order. They always have the TV on with something to watch, especially sports so that’s convenient when there is a game on. The location isn’t the best, very limited parking and if you have to hop back onto the freeway, you have to make a U-Turn or go around. FOOD KAPOON: Always on point. Regardless if I eat it at the restaurant or for take-out, the taste is consistently always good. I like how there’s enough meat, broth is flavorful and isn’t too spicy or too much coconut. Seriously, best I’ve had in the South Sacramento area. KASOY: Best kasoy at a restaurant so far. I have not tried the north area kasoys, so for now I can say they are the best so far. Flavor is on point, enough meat, noodles is the fresh noodles and even my bf loves it(but he still loves my homemade kasoy more). KLUNGFIN: Their klungfin is good but it does have ginger in the sauce so be careful. There are moments when ginger overtook the whole taste. I think I could do w/o their klungfin. LAOSSAUSAGE: DELICIOUSSAUSAGES! Love the sauce that comes with it-a tomtato kind of sauce. The sausages are just cooked right and has enough saltiness to it. It’s not too oily and is not soggy like other places that I’ve tried. EGGROLLS: Their egg rolls appetizer is delicious as well. It’s cut into halves and is skinner and isn’t cooked all the way golden, but I still love the taste. Service and price: The amount of food you get for the price is very reasonable. They don’t skimp on their noodles. They usually only have about two people working the front, so you may have to flag one of them down if you need something. But they do come around to ask if you need a water refill or need anything else while you’re eating.

Authentic Laos food! Every time I come here, I always ordered Papaya salad medium spicy level and Kasoy! Very delicious and flavorful. The kasoy comes in a size large, very flavorful compared to other places that I’ve try. Waiter camr around and refill our water and making sure we didn’t need any other service. I would definitely come back here for those two dishes.

Finally got to try this place! And it was worth the wait! Laos Kitchen, you’re not bad. Not bad at all. Though the location is kinda in the shady area of town, it’s worth the risk. Laos Kitchen is a small place. It fits maybe a good 30 people or so. We were greeted and seated at a booth. My boyfriend got the medium Kasoy and thai tea, I got the medium Kapoon and coconut juice, and we shared papaya salad(3 peppers). I love spicy, so I thought 3 peppers?! Psh, that’s nothing! OMG! This shizz was on FIRE! If you don’t like spicy, I suggest getting 1 pepper in the papaya salad! Aside from the spiciness, the salad was so good! I was dancing in my seat all happy! Then our drinks came. Oh man! My coconut juice was so good! It came with slices of coconut, which was a plus. Chunks of coconut doesn’t cut it for me anymore. The juice was sweet, but not overly sweet that you can’t take anymore. It was perfect! The Thai tea was good too. I’m not a Thai tea fan, but this was pretty good. My bf got it with whipped cream. Made it creamier n sweeter. When our dishes came, it came in a regular sized bowl. I was thinking I could finish it, no problem. However, with the spiciness of the papaya salad and our drinks, I had a hard time finishing! I got half way and got full. If you want a real dish, don’t get an appetizer. It will fill you up! The Kapoon was good! I don’t remember ever getting Kapoon before, so I don’t have anything to compare it to. The thing I didn’t really like were the bamboo slices. They kinda tasted weird to me. Also, the meats were slices so small, I didn’t even know there was meat in there. Oh well. It was good overall! My tummy was happy. I definitely recommend coming here! It’s cheap and good food! If you don’t like spicy, ask for a mild dish. I will definitely come back and try the rest of their menu! I also recommend coming here when there’s light out. I’m a wuss, so coming here when it’s dark out is a definite no! The parking here sucks too. Park on the street on the side of the restaurant. It’ll be MUCH easier to get in and out of the area. They do have a «parking lot» on the side, but looks shadier than parking on the street. Plus, they’re usually full anyways. So parking on the street is better.

After 3 days of Carnival Cruise Food. I was ready for some spicy lao food. Got off the plane and came straight here. My friend wanted Kalafun, but they ran out. She was craving that thing bad. She ended up going to the market next door to get some. I ordered Kasoy and my other friend ordered Kaopiek. We also shared spicy papaya salad and steam meatballs. Everything was great and it definitely hit the spot. All the flavors was on point. They were also kind enough to allow us to eat the kalafun my friend bought in the restaurant. They even brought out their own spicy stinky bean paste for us to put in the kalafun. All I have to say is their paste is crazy spicy and good.
