Embassy Suites Parsippany

Being a hotel snob I know that everything isn’t going to be perfect in terms of rooms. Sometimes you’ll have a stiff bed or the room may have a funny odor. But not this place from service to cleanliness it’s A1. Let’s start off with the look of the hotel. It looks like a resort, the moment I walked in I felt like I was in another country the fountains the plants were nice to look at. The rooms are nice spacious and clean of course there’s some wear and tear but ITS A A HOTEL PEOPLE IT ISNT GOING TO BE PERFECT! The bed was soft it was quiet at night given you had kids running around I didn’t hear them at all once I was in my room. Breakfast was very nice I wasn’t expecting a momma early morning Sunday breakfast but they tried. They had an omelet station where they made You’ve guessed it ! OMELETS!!! I cannot rave more about how enjoyable it was to stay here. If you have a lot of kids this place is for you if you have business to take care of this place is for you. If you have a weekend getaway this place is for you. If you want to escape life without paying for a flight this place is for you.

The hotel is really pretty, and the rooms are nice. However… We were having a birthday party at this hotel. And we were walking in the hallways and the security yelled at us and told us we weren’t allowed to be out without an adult at 10. At this time it was 9:30. And, we weren’t being loud. If you’re looking to stay here, not for a party, it’s a pretty good hotel. But I don’t recommend staying here for a birthday party.

Not sure what has happened to this place in the past year but the quality of our stays have declined, steeply.
We used to love it. Clean, fresh-​smelling rooms. Pet-​friendly. Warm staff. Fantastic, made-​to-​order breakfasts.
No longer.
Staff has changed and new staff is less friendly.
Coffee in the dining room is dishwater. Trays are barely wiped off before they are returned. Coffee in the rooms is hardly better.
Rooms aren’t properly cleaned. For example:
The time before last, the first room they put us in reeked of cigarette smoke, despite our reserving a non-​smoking room. After notifying staff, we were moved to the club-​level, probably because the hotel was booked solid.
The last time we stayed the first room reeked of cigarette smoke. The second room had vomit on the rug outside the bathroom that hadn’t been properly cleaned.
To reiterate– someone puked on the rug and housekeeping wiped up the solids and called it a day.
This place used to be good. Now it’s disgusting.

I enjoyed our stay here. It was a spacious room, the bed was comfy, breakfast was great with lots of options, front desk was helpful, pet friendly and pizza delivery available even after 2am!
We stayed here to save money on our New Years trip to NYC, a bus stop was right down the street, in walking distance and costs about $ 10.45 per person to Port Authority right in Time Square. The ride takes about 45 – 55 mins, is an easy trip and worth saving $ 100’s by not staying in the city.
We did get free drink tickets for the bar downstairs for each night of our stay but we never used them since we were off on adventures in NYC.
The bad things were it got hot in the mornings in our room and the cool air wouldn’t come on and there’s no fan in the bathroom.

I booked this hotel for a girls weekend and it was a mediocre experience. We checked in with no problem and received tickets for a complimentary beverage at the hotel bar. The lobby had the whole jungle theme going which I actually liked. The room was clean but there was a mildewy odor in the living room, the fridge didn’t stay cold, and the beds were not queen size, they were full. The pool area stayed packed. There were a few conventions going on that weekend so the hotel was a bit noisy and by 10p, hotel staff was hollering for everyone to simmer down and anyone under 18 should be in bed. There is free WiFi depending on the room you purchase otherwise its $ 10 (In 2015 I thought all hotels offered free WiFi). The breakfast area was packed so I skipped the hot breakfast and grabbed a bagel to go. I don’t see myself returning.

We came up here to visit the Christmas Ice Caverns and stayed at this hotel because the room was within our price range for the night. Our room wasn’t terribly bad but it did look like someone got their hair cut in the bathroom and the maid failed to clean the floor and the counter top. There was also food leftover in the fridge from the previous guest (gross). So after being in the car all day we decided to order take out from one of the suggested restaurants in the area, it was supposed to be only a half a mile away but when we looked up directions on the maps it was actually a 35 minute drive. So we called back and cancelled our order and decided to go try the restaurant in the hotel. We waited at the hostess stand for a seat and we were greeted by a waitress who was rather rude and basically told us that we couldn’t eat there because she was the only waitress for the whole restaurant that night. So we left and ate at Applebee’s.
Pros: average room, the atrium and the fountains were entertaining for our two year old daughter. Free and convenient parking. Decent room rates.
Cons: poor maid service. False advertisements in hotel amenities book. Rude staff.

We stayed at the Embassy Suites Parsippany for two nights this past weekend as the couple whose wedding we attended reserved a block of rooms there. Overall, it was fine. The room was clean, the atrium-​style lobby was reminscent of the Hyatt Regency in Princeton which I’ve always liked, high quality shampoos and soaps were in the bathrooms, and the complimentary breakfast was surprisingly great.
The hotel did not make me feel like I was at a Meridien, Ritz-​Carlton, Mandarin Oriental, etc., which I guess is to be expected at such reasonable rates per night. The pool area was out of towels, and, despite what the binder in the hotel room said, there is no room service on weekends (not so good for a New Yorker who does not drive and had no other reason to be in town, while her husband was at the wedding venue for photographs); our room key did not work at first, and the hotel just did not make me forget that I was at a hotel on the side of a highway.

We ended up leaving a day early for our Florida trip and had no expectation as to where we were going to stay tonight. After reviewing the map and
we came upon this property.
The reception at the desk was a bit dis jumbled. We were put in to a decent room on the top floor. We quickly dropped off our bags and went to dinner. When we returned it seemed as if the hotel was a bit of a party. There were family members yelling from the first floor to the third, the lines were long for everything. The bartender at the regular bar didn’t have access to certain bottles of wine. The elevators required a key to go to ANY floor (not just the executive floor) and you have to wear wrist bands to go to the pool or have breakfast.
As I’ve said previously, just because one hotel is labeled an Embassy or a Hilton or a Homewood for that matter, there is really no consistency in brand here. Although this is on a different level, I know if I am checking in to a Ritz I am going to be treated in a certain manor regardless of the location. When I check in to a Hilton, or Embassy or Doubletree the level of service and quality of facility is really a crap shoot. This is very disappointing.

Stayed here not that long ago for a wedding and thought it was just average. It might have scored better had it not appeared that it was more like a residence for lower income people. Whether that is true or not is unclear but you may want to see for yourself by going there at 1am on any given day and see kids as far as the eye can see running around without a concerned parent to be seen. The free breakfast leaves a ton to be desired. I find it incredibly hard to believe that everyone was on line for the breakfast were actual patrons of the hotel and heard by word of mouth that the food is free, no questions asked and no room keys to show. Basically, show up with your entire family and eat free courtesy of the Embassy Suites. The room was pretty good, parking was free (nice perk) and very accessible to the highways.

If you love throwbacks to the glory days of hotels, this is for you! Sure you could stay at a newly built Holiday Inn… but you would miss the live Cockatoos (yes– live birds) palm trees, three water fountains, trails and more palm trees… Also a pretty nice sized pool and hot tub… aaaaaah! The restaurant on site is amazing and the rooms are tidy too. You do see the lower ceilings, and sprayed popcorn texture of the past but new caret wallpaper, furniture etc. The bathrooms are spick and span and they even hav Giovanni shampoo soap and conditioner! Thats not cheap stuff!
I am pretty picky about where I stay, and I will totally be coming back here!

I wasn’t sure what to expect before coming to this Embassy suites based on the previous reviews but I kept an open mind.
My sisterinlaw has been here many times and has had parties here too.
I came for a weekend getaway for Mother’s Day with my daughter and niece along with my sisterinlaw .
Parking was very easy to do. I pulled up and valeted my own bags with a dolly that was provided to our room.
The front desk staff was extremely friendly and helpful. (our reservation was booked directly with the hotel which I advise. This way no surprises .)
We stayed on the 5^th floor which is considered premium level. U need ur hotel key to access this floor. The elevators are full glass so u can see the beautiful lush gardens and waterfall below in the atrium.
Our room was a decent size, 2 queen beds with fluffy pillows and in the living room a couch that turned into a pullout. Nice size table and 4 chairs. 2 flat screens and an ottoman that can be used as a coffee table or extra seating.
The bathroom was lovely and very clean.
Nice shampoos and lotions were provided along with a complimentary blow dryer. The shower curtain had an extended circular bar to give ample room for showering.
We requested extra towels and were given plenty. We also were given plush bathrobes to wear.
Across from the bathroom was a little kitchen area with a microwave and a Keurig coffee pot with pods and cream and sugar. There was also a mini sink and a half size refrigerator. Outside our door were several machines one had all kinds of candy and snacks in it. This was complimentary. The other had water, soda and juices also complimentary. U did need to get an access code from the front desk to get the snacks and drinks.
At 5:30p-7:30p with a voucher was a free complimentary beverage. (fresh sangria, wines, hard liquor or juices and sodas.)one per person unless u can get vouchers from people who aren’t using them.
A popcorn machine and fresh salsa and chips were also provided.
This embassy suites has many different areas to sit and relax including many areas outside.
The only real issue I noticed was in the pool area. Heavy heavy smell of chlorine and we were told no more then 21 kids no toys in pool. Well, we get to the pool and we counted 42 kids in the swimming pool along with every kind of toy imaginable and kids running around. If you don’t have kids then this is not relaxing at all. They have an adult swim only from around 10p-​12a There was a security guard on duty at all times which was very good. The Jacuzzi was a nice size and you had to be 18 years old in order to go in it which I agree with. Every night at 7:30p the pool is closed for matience. This hotel could really use another pool maybe even outside.
The next day we got a complimentary breakfast cooked to order which was very good. There was an omelette, pancake station, then they had a buffet station with potatoes, sausage, bacon, scrambled eggs. Across from that was another station that had juices, coffee, all types of bread, bagels, muffins and toasters were provided. They even had hot oatmeal with the fixings and choice of dry cereal and milk for kids.
I felt the staff really went out of their way to make us feel welcome and if we ever had any questions or concerns they addressed it immediately and got us everything that we needed. If the hotel is full it can at times get noisy. The floor plan is open and the sound travels. Realizing we were in a hotel. and people came back from a wedding the sound didn’t last too long.
The only restaurant is the Bistecca. Please see my review just for this restaurant
I do think this hotel really does try to make people feel welcome and with a few minor changes I think it’s really is going to be a good place to come. One of the changes would be to have free wifi, not the $ 12.95 that embassy Suites charges per day.
My suggestion is if u don’t like something, or if u need something special go immediately to the front desk and they will help u.

Hotel is beautiful and the rooms are clean and comfortable. Be careful with online descriptions of the property though. Shuttle service is complimentary within a 5 mile radius WHEN the driver is on duty. No airport transportation. Internet access is $ 12.95 A DAY. Breakfast bar is wonderful as is the service at the front desk. They require a $ 50 per day charge to your room in case of incidentals.

Horrible hotel. Carpet is stained and dirty. Black mold or somthing on the ceiling where the vent is. Couch has stains all over it. Bath/​shower looks like its been spray painted 10 times since the 70’s and the drain does not drain. For 189 a night this place was not worth it gross!

Paper thin walls and bacon wafting through the air ducts does not make a happy hotel guest.
The hotel was beautiful. I loved the atrium, the rooms were beautiful and I loved the extra space, but cutting corners with cheap walls is never a good idea in a hotel.
My recommendations:
1. Do not place guests WITH children near guests WITHOUT children. I was up all night because parents did not enforce a bed time. In the living room, you can hear the people in the atrium, yelling out to each other, even at 4am! In the bedroom, you can hear exactly what is going on in the room next door, and for us, that was a few kids jumping on beds, screaming and playing music until at least 2am.
2. As another Unilocaler suggested, get some security. How do you expect to get return guests with this kind of uncontrolled noise all night. I will never be back at this hotel.
3. Fix and update the shower. Our shower had no water pressure because there was a gaping hole next to the fixture which didn’t allow all the water to make it up to the shower head. Plus there were hairs. Plus the paint was chipping.

A really good and beautiful hotel. It includes beautiful birds, a pool and a good restaurant.
One big problem, kids out in hallway kept me & family up till 2:00 am, need better security at night, really annoyed me and my family.

We stayed here last night. Beautiful & clean hotel. And the price was reasonable!
The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because we only stayed over night so I didn’t get a chance to see the whole place or use the gym but I’m willing to think that it would have been really nice too.
The room was so spacious. Nice to have the extra room.

Stayed here on business for a few days on business this summer. The suites are big, but definitely dated. The only thing modern is the LED flatpanel HDTV. Had the king bed, but it’s too flimsy has I have a premium firm kingsize at home that I’m used to. Here’s my pros & cons:
Pros: Big suite with pullout sofa, larger than average desk/​workstation, 3 total sinks in the room. Ample parking. Great govt rate.
Cons: Wifi is NOT free (Who still does that???) Good thing I just tethered my mobile device to my tablet/​laptop. Breakfast buffet is below average in selection, but passable. Almost no variety in places to dine. The only sit down place (Bistecca) has a limited menu and everything is expensive. Loved the flat iron steak however — see my #Yelp review on Bistecca Restaurant.
Next time I am in town for business, this won’t be on my short list of places to stay. I only stayed here because a colleague at my home office suggested it. I will definitely try the HYATT Morristown at Headquarters Plaza. More modern, less than 2 miles from my remote office and looks more W Hotel-​esque (for the same govt rate as Embassy Suites)
I give Embassy Suites a solid 2.5*. Dated and lacking, but spacious suites. Fail on the charge for wifi

As a Hilton HHonors member, I’ve stayed in many Embassy Suite properties across the country. This one was just OK.
I like the openness of the lobby, the vegetation, the fountains, and the birds. Overall it was quiet, just don’t get a room on the side with 287 highway, as you can hear some noise from the traffic. The rooms were spacious and the bed was comfortable. They also provided me with more than two towels. Neutrogena was the bath amenities.
The managers reception in the evening was horrible. The food was only chips and salsa. And they gave you only one drink coupon. No other appetizers. The breakfast in the morning was basic — cereal, the hot food was mushy scrambled eggs, overdone sausage. Other Embassy Suites have other hot options such as omelets or eggs done the way you like them (so they are fresh).
Connecting to the internet was a pain. I had to literally go in to my settings and delete out and start over since it wouldn’t connect or give me a log in screen, as is typical for any Hilton property. And at $ 12 a night per device, that is kind of steep (I get a few bucks, but over $ 10? Really?).
The Bistecca restaurant had a small menu. The chicken sandwich I had was good, and service was decent (it better have been since there was only myself and another table of two), but quite frankly there wasn’t a lot that was priced on the lower end.
This Embassy Suites is in a good location for local businesses if you’re on a business trip, and I probably will stay here again for that reason and so I can collect more Hilton points, but that’s about it.

Room comfort is great, the lobby is open and spacious, and location is great for doing business in the Parsippany area. About my fifth time here, but first on business. My only beef with the place is the expensive internet: $ 12.99 per device per day. If that’s not bad enough, speed is capped out at 1mb, which is pretty much useless for a business traveler. They also prevent you from streaming media such as netflix, amazon, or HBO by pushing out occasional pulses to make every device reset (every 5 minutes or so).
Place is great for a non technology family, but consider yourself warned if you need the internet.

Worst excuse for a «hotel» from a service standpoint. We stayed here in Feb. 2014 for a nearby wedding. We picked this place because it offered shuttle service to & from the reception. But… we were treated to smelly rooms, slow staff who acted uncaring at any basic request, and calls for the shuttle that blew us off until «they were ready.» I won’t go into detail about the disgusting breakfast that turned out to be a waste of food because no one in our party wanted to eat what was on their plate.
Bottom line — who wants to stay any longer than they have to in Jersey? A hotel should make you feel comfortable but this place didn’t deliver at all. We couldn’t wait to leave.
