History
Established in 2009.
While we have only been in this location for 2 years our family has been in the restaurant business serving South Indian food for over 45 years. Our father started with a small shop in India and we proudly continue the tradition. In fact, we even went through the trouble of bringing a special grinder all the way from India to New Jersey so that the batter for our Dosa would be 100% authentic. That is just one example of our commitment to delivering only the best food for our customers.
We also allow our batter to ferment naturally rather than using yeast like many other restaurants. Natural fermentation is the traditional method of preparing batter and anyone who wants to experience authentic South Indian cuisine should insist on nothing less. It gives the Dosa the signature taste that we enjoy back home in India.
So come and enjoy a South Indian meal that you will compare all others to from this point on! 973−227−8191.
Meet the Business Owner
Lokesh S.
Business Owner
Lokesh and Raghu are brothers who own and operate Mysore Woodlands. They learned how to cook South Indian food from their father, Shunmuga, who began the family tradition with a small restaurant back in India 45 years ago. Having apprenticed for decades under their father’s exacting standards, they now create the most authentic South Indian food for miles around. First at Udupi Village in Montclair and now at Mysore Woodlands in Parsippany. In fact, they went through the considerable trouble of bringing a large grinder all the way from India to make sure their Dosa are prepared exactly the way they were taught back home! They are very proud of the fact that the food served at Mysore Woodlands is always prepared by a family member because that means that no effort is spared and no corners are cut.
