Rajini is a typical south Indian Restaurant with lots and lots of options. The service was good and the place was casual. We ordered a Thali and a plain dosa. It took some time for us to get our order as they just were just opened but the taste and quality was not compromised. Tip: Lookout for the buttermilk it was the star of our lunch

We just finished our meal, and it was really good! The other reviews are right — it’s definitely on the spicy side! However, we weren’t surprised with it.. We did order two curry dinners. I got the chicken makhni and my SO ordered something else, please don’t ask me what because I have no clue, but it had lamb and green chili. He really enjoyed it, and there was a fair amount of lamb. Mine had a ton of chicken. I think it’s the most I’ve ever gotten with similar orders at other places. They were busy and it took a bit to order, but not a really long time. He was apologetic. The rest of the meal was incredible. They were so attentive, making sure we liked everything and had everything we needed. I don’t understand the negative reviews with this — I think this was by far the nicest staff we’ve encountered in a long time at similar restaurants. Not that others weren’t nice, but these guys were out –of-their-way nice. I think maybe it’s a tad bit high in pricing, but not much. It’s still alright. The inside could use upgrades, but whatever, it’s not a big deal. I’d give 4.5 if possible. It’s a good bang for the buck.

Ordered take out from this place on a weeknight. This was my first and last time visiting this hole. I repeated the order to the guy on the phone 3 times. Uttappum with PEAS. Off course I pick it up and see on the receipt after swiping my credit card Uttappum with CHEESE. The idiot wasn’t apologetic and was nodding his head. I hate the way on the phone they swear up and down they got it and they don’t. The Madurai Malli Dosa was gross. The chilly chicken tasted like it was re-heated. The chicken tikka masala was probably the worst. You can stop by the grocery store next door pick up a jar of the simmer sauce and throw in some pieces of chicken. This is probably their method of offering such a variety of crappy food. Do yourself a huge favor. Check out Madras Woodlands for real dosas and Spice grill for other food. The restaurant was dark, dingy and dirty.

I had been here to eat the ‘thali’ as it was highly recommended from a friend. We were pleasantly surprised. All the veggies had a home cooked flavor. The fish gravy and fish fry included in the thali was great. Spice level was perfect. As an appetizer we ordered the ‘porichutthu’ — spicy deep fried shrimp. These were very tasty and the shrimp were fresh. Its a 30 minute hike for us but I will be going back here at least for the fish items. The dessert in the thali was mysore-pak. This was a hit with the kids. The server was proud that this dessert is made fresh at the restaurant. They also have pomfret on their menu but it was not available at the time. My second visit here was to pick up some takeout. We called well in advance but when we got to the place we had a 15 – 20 minute wait before we got our food. What I do know is that the food was prepared fresh as all the dishes were perfect. Food is on the spicier side so you better let them know if you need a milder kick.

Standard strip mall place. I’m eating takeout from here right now and it’s surprisingly tasty. I’d go back!

I enjoy having the veg/non veg thali at this place. Everything served in steel ware and the place is fairly clean. Usually, I do the biryani take out and it’s really yum! It’s tasty and close to home kind of cooking. Mostly, south indian specialties.

Nice south indian place. We tried chicken 65 it was really good. Authentic taste. All the dishes were good. They should update the interior. Otherwise all good

I picked up a carry-out of Chicken Tikka Masala. Had a good heat level and was tasty. One of the better curries I have eaten. The place looked a little run-down but for carry out it’s fine.

This is my go-to(southern) Indian restaurant in Parsippany. It is nestled away in a little strip mall that looks like the strip mall time forgot, but don’t let that scare you away. The employees are always nice to me, and the food is consistent. My favorite two things to get here are the Chicken Curry and the Samosa(I keep it simple). Both are very simple to make but making them WELL is another story. They make it well every single time. I’ve had other dishes here but sadly I don’t remember the names as they were ordered for me instead of by me. All I know is, it was all very tasty. It would have 5 stars, but I haven’t tried enough of their food to give them the highest honors! I will be going back there to diversify a bit, and I am confident that whatever I order will be executed well.

I go here every so often. The food is good however, it is always very spicy. I do know Indian cuisine has lots of flavors and spices so it is expected to some degree. I also love spicy food and have a tolerance. However, here the you can’t taste the food because it’s always just so spicy. They need to tone the heat down. Also I have only done takeout. The décor of the place is crap, update 7÷21÷15. They cut back on the amount of goat/lamb in the order. When asked about it they said they only give the good peices. The portion is hardly enough for a meal

The service is horrible and slow. Take out times are incorrect. Don’t waste your time coming here. Food is mediocre at best.

Great South Indian food. The void that we had in parsippany got over when they opened this restaurant. Gentleman running the place Mr. Rajesh is a great host. Smiley face and takes great care. Our favourite picks are as follows. 1. Kodi Vepdu 2. Chicken Dum Biryani 3. Chicken Pepper Fry 4. Chicken Kothu Parota 5. Parota(friend of me, from CT thought this was the best parota in NJ(I still give that to Anjappar in Brunswick). 6. Gunpowder Idly(very interesting)!! I have been so many times. Good large plate as well! All in All! Very good place for very good South Indian food! Cheers! Prabu

It is that food you crave on a cold and dark winter night. Hot and Spicy. It is more like a take out place but you may also dine in if you wish. My staple diet over here would be margandham soup(could be a hit or miss), fish fry and my all time favorite mutton-sukkha. Yup, there is the solution for all my cravings! You may also pair the food with their soft and large sized chapatis(like eating 2 chapatis in one) and have a good night’s sleep right after. Tip: You get a discount if you pay by cash.

Chicken tikki, curry fish, and egg masala is what we ordered. With only one family in the place we thought that the food would not take as long as it did. It came out hot and spicy. Emphasis on spicy!!! Worth the wait? Hmmm… See I really love the cuisine. Was it the best I ever had? No. Will is satisfy my craving? For now. We commenced to eating our food and the place filled up. Not a seat open in the house. This was good right? Wrong answer. Nope. This meant that he although a very nice person, was serving ALL of those people TOO!!! We waited 15 minutes to pay get the bill and another 10 to get my card back. Will it be the first place I think of the next time? Nope. You can read my other reviews to know where I will go from now on. I felt like I cheated on them with a cheap flusy. A moment that I would like to take back.

This place is probably the best south Indian restaurant in north Jersey. With authentic south Indian food being on the spicier side, this place has never dissapointed me in the last 2.5 odd years. Vegetarian appetizers are pretty good — plantain bajji, Cabbage vadai etc. For the main course, I would recommend Dosai’s or Veg Kothu parata. Being a south Indian myself, I would vouch for the authenticity of the good

I don’t know why people are giving bad reviews the food is pretty good! The mutton Sukha was really spicy and the vanjaram fish fry was a must have for spicy eaters. My favorite dish would have to be the chicken biryiani. My only complaint would have to be that it is really crowded and loud and not really good to hear people yelling while you eat. Other than that it was good food if you love spicy but would like to consider takeout

This an average looking place and good joint for south indian food. I would not recommend anyone to order anything outside the south indian dishes in the menu. I usually enjoy the vegetarian thali that is served in lunch. It is just perfectly served with good options to try for.

Not sure what all the bad reviews are about but I found the food here tastes good. Nothing to remember but not bad either. The service can be a little slow, and your idly can be a little soggy but the choice of four three chutnies with sambar is good to have.
